I've been trying to find a solution to this Birkin strap issue for quite a while and now I am blessed and happy to find your channel and the solution! Birkin is also my favorite for every day's use compared to the Kelly as it's more practical a part from the fact that it doesn't have the strap to have hands free. Thanks a million for sharing.

Omg this is brilliant! I've seen people use a scarf on the actually closure strap and it ends up stretching out. I love this. My birkin is 35cm so I usually have the straps locked anyway. Such a game changer!!

Life changing, I’ve actually injured my elbow from carrying my Togo birkins. I have tennis elbow because they’re so heavy! And I always want to travel with my birkins but they are a pain in the airport with just being handle bags!

For the price of that bag , it needs to automatically come with a strap, wallet and 2 dust bags
It doesn’t come with a strap but comes with 2 rain coats for the bag 🤣🤣🤣
It really begs the question as to why Hermes haven't thought of this - such a smart idea :-)

Only problem is, wouldn’t this wear down those leather tabs eventually overtime? Especially if the bag is really weighted down...

I think the reason is that the weight distribution wouldn’t allow the Birkin to have a strap there. Once I was told this by a LV SA that a strapless LV speedy would be damaged if I attached straps to the hoops because the bag was not designed in a way to have a strap there. That’s why you can see the speedy bandouliere in a way that there is a reinforcement from the side of the bag so when you wear the bag and the weight pulls down the bag it won’t be damaged over time. This isn’t something that can happen in a few wear, but years of stretching out the leather. Now you can see Hermes coming out with shoulder strap option for Birkin but in a different way, which allows the bag to keep its shape and doesn’t damage the sides of the bag.
Erica’s idea is absolutely amazing and really smart whoever came up with this BUT I personally wouldn’t wear my bag like this all the time because at the end of the day the bag was not designed to be worn like this, with that said it will make a huge difference on those days when you really want to carry it on your shoulders after you got tired by carrying it on your arms, and for that it is a great solution but I don’t see Hermes doing the same thing.
it’s more on what the body of the bag is, i saw other brands that are the same exact copy of the birkin but with added shoulder strap and it did not end well for the bag

Coming from Asia??😊 these are made in China, Mecca of lands of replicas. I am not a big fan of adding items to the original design of the bag, especially the craftsmanship that goes into the bag. But I agree with you that wish Hermes could have been coming up with their own products that fits the idea.
Just be careful not to carry too much because it will add stress to the Birkin’s leather flap as it wasn’t built and designed to be carried that way
It is super sturdy actually because the loop is supported by the snagle and the two folds from the bag! I would add concrete blocks to it but it can definitely handle the regular items like wallet, keys, make up... Thank you so much for watching!

idk if this is gonna work with togo, clemence or swift because the leather is much softer. epsom is more tough

It looks good but I don’t think in the long run is good for the bag.
I think it's good to have it as an option say to have the strap in your bag for a long day out and when your arms are tired, you can rest them for a little bit by adding on the should strap, but majority of them time, still carry the B as how it suppose to.

Just for everyday life convenience. Don't have to use it all the time but when the arms are tired, the option is there.
I am actually thinking about the weight transfer. Especially if the strap is fixed on the leather handles from the sides, isn't it a bit too much pressure for them? Meaning, that it will unnaturally pull the leather and can stretch it? Especially when the bag by itself is heavy plus the weight of the items inside? Curious to hear your thoughts! But looks amazing! Have been always putting buying a Birkin aside due to the strap, now it is a game changer!
You would have to see it to understand. There is a very small piece of the sangle that is supported by the folds on both sides which are super structured and tough. Let’s put it this way: I would never jeopardize my most precious bag impossible to replace which is my Special Order. It is a personal decision but I wouldn’t present something that I believe would damage someone’s bag :)
