As you said,back in 2006 when i got my first Atlas Chessie Gp40-2 QSI engine ,i thought it is the way to go.Today i only use ESu V 4.0 sounddecoders and the sound is lightyears ahead not to speak of the better motorcontrols.
well it is a great improvement, did you video the part of when you did the wiring? I was looking forward to that, but I bet it a long prosess, if you did thou, toss it up, wiring the decoder in
sparky107107 It didn't take very long at all believe it or not. The adapter board has the connections labeled and the speaker wires come right off the Decoder. Took about 1/2 hour with the soldering.
That really does sound good Eduardo. I have similar second hand U28B and B30-7 units with QSI sound which I intend to convert to ESU. Can you please let us know which particular ESU sound version # you used for this B30-7 ? Many thanks
Phil Bartlett are used sound file 75413: GE 16 cyl 7 FDL Dash 7 I also ended up upgrading the speaker with the Scale Sound Systems Unit… And it even sounds better! You can definitely hear the gurgling and chug of the GE motor when the locomotive is going down the track!
brian nelson I notice the speakers sound better and crisper. The Loksound, in my opinion, sounds more protypical and has more functionality than the factory QSI.
