Anyone interested in Manouche welcomes a Jimmy. He has one thing we all want: his health. If there can be a tomorrow with music, that is a bonus. So welcome to hear this. He will always be able to play and entertain. Most importantly, we want him to be happy.
Are you aware that you share an almost identical name with an eminent historian of Japan? Lol. And yes, I totally agree - so glad he’s back, and major kudos to Christiaan and Dennis etc. for supporting him!
@@j_mac_2470 I was not aware of that no lol, I'll look him up. Ironically you share the same initials and surname as a half Japanese musician friend of mine Jondi Mac, check him out. Freaky!
It was like: ok, i got mad. Take this. :D can't Wait to see him after a few months when He gets completely back to shape. I am So happy to se my hero back.
@Javier Thanks, my channel is all about how I did it. If someone would follow the same methods (which are really shortcuts) they would probably reach a similar level. The sad thing is that many guitar players get lost in learning none essential stuff like scales, modes and arpeggios. Those things won't benefit playing jazz improv directly so it's almost a waste of valuable time.
@@ChristiaanvanHemert thank you very much, I will start from video n1. I am starting with jazz and was practicing arpeggios so ill try your method and will get back to you in 5 years
Jimmy I wish you well on starting your life over and this new project. I hope you can find the joy in playing music again. That feeling that drew you to it in the first place. You know; the one that makes you smile when you’re done and your heart is happy.
What an absolutely beautiful video ! God bless Jimmy. He is incredible. May he heal. God bless Christiaan for all the work he is doing for us aspring jazz manouche musicians.
Thank you for posting this Christiaan! So happy to see this genius playing again :)) Wishing Jimmy peace and continued success in his recovery and playing.
Man Jimmy still sounds incredible even after all that time away. And Christiaan you ain't too bad either :) Thanks so much Denis, Christiaan, and Tommy for making this happen!!
Respect to jimmy the king of swing and chris h your playing is allso really cool i think jimmy your playing is on fire i cant wait to hear the album and many more further most more videos of jimmy the better he needs to be seen more the best.
I keeping coming back to this video because Jimmy’s last solo and last time playing the head, in combination with your accompaniment is gold. Thanks for the great content!
Great!!!! Christiaan, it was nice how Jimmie looked to you full of interest, respect! You are one of them!!! Congratulations!!!!!!! so this Jimmy Woaw what a Champ!!!!!!
So nice to see Jimmy now in a relaxed way, love it! Jimmy played better instruments, but you can hear he beats the devil out of this thing!- whish i can make the same on my Mauro Freschi...Tanks for this great video👍
So great to see my favorite gypsy guitarist back and playing. He's simply the greatest. If it's possible to wear out a CD, I might have done so with his CD collaborating with Andreas Oberg. Best of luck to Jimmy Rosenberg.
My daughter and I were just talking about Jimmy Rosenberg. She really was taken by the documentary about him. Glad the "in the style of" and the album is happening. Also like this recognition of the Altamira guitars. They're really top notch guitars at a very good price. I just purchased a used 2017 M01D 12-fret. Solid!
Onze beste vriend(in) is... "de gitaar". Vanaf onze jeugd kent die ons het beste en in ons samenspel kunnen wij al onze emoties kwijt... dat gevoel is bij jullie altijd hoorbaar als jullie spelen. Maar dat maakt jullie ook "heeeeeeeel ver boven gemiddeld niveau". Dank voor de mooie muziek! Dennis
That picture you have of David Rose with Django - I spent a couple years working for David Rose Publishing and always saw that picture in the office. Was surprising to see it on your wall!
Just happened to see that photo on a forum this week, and learned that Django is playing a Swedish archtop bought by Duke Ellington's guitarist Fred Guy when the Ellington band toured Sweden in 1939. Guy is not in the picture of course. Django himself toured Sweden in the late 1930s and inspired the Swedish Hot Quintet, which may be the first Gypsy Jazz band outside of France/Belgium to follow in the wake of the QHCF and use the same instrumentation.
Jimmy Rosenberg bridged the gap between gypsy jazz and rock/metal guitar. Make not mistake about it - the Birdland Django fest. live album from 2001 featuring Jimmy and his no holds barred, pyrotechnic wizardry on the fretboard converted a slew of rockers into lifelong gypsy jazz fans.
The king is back!! I never thought I would see this!!
Me neither but I'm happy I did!
do you who the king is ? Joscho Stephan damn it!! he would kill Jimmy in a minute
Fontomia the king is whoever you want it to be, don’t be a wet towel.
@@danluffs2757 @Dan luffs no the king is whoever plays better , don't be so impressible
