Ottomans were the nightmare of europeans for a reason 😈. Their only goal was bringing islam to the europeans just like their ancestors the Seljuks did. They were so powerful that the europeans never even dared to form a crusade again. Long live the Ottoman Empire 🇹🇷
No matter I hate him, I was impressed by the last speech of Suleiman and I feel sad when he die. I wish that the last apparence of Sumbul will be a confrontation to Gazanfer Aga just like the last confrontation of Hurrem and Nurbanu where Gazanfer Aga told that one day he will be on the post of Sumbul it would be magic XD I like the way that the show describe how the idea of the Sultan becomes less divine which will allow us to understand why in MCK the sultans are generally disrespected as tyrants with the exception of Ahmed I (like the horrible way Osman was treated) and that is true that it is consistent because the last years of Suleiman corresponds to the decline of the Ottoman Empire. (Well though or I feel like the show is off the mark is about the idea of decline. Decline isn't necessarily because of the "bad" heir or women's scheming (I'm against the idea that Hurrem is perceived as the one who destroyed the Ottoman Empire with other women of the Sultana there are very good counter arguments for that) it is mainly because of the very big conquests, the fact that under Suleiman the places were not strategic enough to be able to ocnter the delay of the navy and especially thereafter after his reign the jannissaries will always want more large sums, to get involved in political life (when the military gets involved in politics is always a bad idea)
*Unable to secure it's very vast borders *New trade routes established thus avoiding the taxes to pass through the ottoman controlled silk road *Failure to expand to the America's *Drained treasury of the years from costly campaigns *Rise of the European superpowers These are all substantiated reasons the ottomans started to decline.
@@Sky-tv4wb Yes I am agree with you. I thought that I was clear especiallyt on the third and fourt h reason you cited in my commentary ( by citing the delay of the navy and saying too much conquest by Suleiman ) . Selim Yavuz know this would be a problem and he make sure by making intelligent conquest during his eight years. His grandson Selim II and Sokollu Mehmet Pacha try to repair the errors of Suleiman for the expend to the America and the treasury of the campaigny but it was very hard to compensate years of later no matter they could have brilliant ideas for that. But we can't forget that jannisary who want a lot of compensation and want involved in political were one of the reasons the Empire Ottoman failed ( even if there were true genius in policical like Turhan).
@@nesiacha3659 that was for all the ignorant morons who choose to blindly believe that it was "women" who destroyed the ottomans and started the decline of the empire, not you.(Historians tend to think the decline happened later than previously thought)
@@Sky-tv4wb No that's okay, I am agree with you. After this, there should have been miniserie or season 5 about the reign of Selim II,Murad III and Mehmed III. It should have shown Mihrimah as Valide and Nurbanu and Safiye as Valide and Haseki, and their fight and Safiye as Valide, also the fight between Safiye, Handan and Halime. Maybe then the Kosem series wouldn't be so bad and pointless. I don't hate show Mahidevran, but still a disapointment how she is portray in every serie ( Roxelana or MC) and even in manga ( the worst she is portay as a devil women apparently to some friends, I never read this). She was a very good player, had the potential to be a efficient Valide, a smart women, fight against all, and she fought the strenght to live longer when she survived to her only son, her two grandsons, her grandaughter Sah and maybe Nergisah ( so finally her son and all her grandchildrens), live in poverty. I am saying that but I hate the way they portay Hurrem too. She never forgot where she came from and did everything to appease the plight of slaves developed very good diplomatic skills, help a lot her husband and do a lot of charity. The only thing I wonder is how the historical Hurrem acted when Suleiman condemned Mahidevran to poverty because he blamed him for Mustafa's death (after all she wasn't a threat anymore) was she shocked but couldn't do anything because it was her husband's decision? I would have given a lot to know the reaction of Suleiman and Hurrem when they saw Mustafa's daughter Sah when she had to move to the old Palace and vice versa, too bad it is not documented ( after all Sah can be considerated the least fortunate grandaughter of Suleiman to this time until maybe the daughters of Bayezid, no wonder if they became friend according to some source because of all the pain they share).

What a disaster for Europe to have such neighbor. 500 years later wherever they stepped on in Europe is poorer than the rest.
Ottomans were the nightmare of europeans for a reason 😈. Their only goal was bringing islam to the europeans just like their ancestors the Seljuks did. They were so powerful that the europeans never even dared to form a crusade again. Long live the Ottoman Empire 🇹🇷
I love the music in this!
Szigetvar finally became an Ottoman fortress in the end.
I really wonder why Selim the Crown Prince didn't join the Campaign..
18:00 i cant say how much nostalgic is this scene. For nostalgia the most powerful.
No matter I hate him, I was impressed by the last speech of Suleiman and I feel sad when he die.
I wish that the last apparence of Sumbul will be a confrontation to Gazanfer Aga just like the last confrontation of Hurrem and Nurbanu where Gazanfer Aga told that one day he will be on the post of Sumbul it would be magic XD
I like the way that the show describe how the idea of the Sultan becomes less divine which will allow us to understand why in MCK the sultans are generally disrespected as tyrants with the exception of Ahmed I (like the horrible way Osman was treated) and that is true that it is consistent because the last years of Suleiman corresponds to the decline of the Ottoman Empire.
*Unable to secure it's very vast borders
*New trade routes established thus avoiding the taxes to pass through the ottoman controlled silk road
*Failure to expand to the America's
*Drained treasury of the years from costly campaigns
*Rise of the European superpowers
These are all substantiated reasons the ottomans started to decline.
I just think that you were disagree with me to the part of undisplinary jannisary took a responsability too in the decline of Ottoman Empire ( for all the reasons I told).
But it's suprise me that historians think that decline of Ottoman Empire ( but it still a debat) was under the second part of the reign of Murad III.
@@Sky-tv4wb In short, the Ottomans absolutely didnt decline with Selim, it started with Suleiman and Selim inherited the burden.
And after Kosem show, there should have been a miniserie or another season about Turhan and Gulnus, but also it should included;Dilasub, Saliha(Valide of Mahmud I)and Sehsuvar, also Ibrahim's Hasekis and concubines especially Muazzez, because she wasn't alive when her son became sultan.
I am agree with you. It should too make more parrallel with the Safavides too...
But I have a question historical wich character historical you prefer in SOW or you find the most impressive ( including Haiseki Ayse and Mahidevran Hatun)?
@@nesiacha3659 I think that Kosem and Turhan are the most impressive(historically).
But i like Nurbanu, Hurrem, Mihrimah, Safiye, Handan, Ayse, Mahidevran and Halime too.
I think Hurrem, Mahidevran and Ayse would be great and very powerful Valide Sultanas.
@@drfhgs428 So true they are all very fascinating womens. Like we said "fascinating fates, fascinating womens". But we always forget this poor Gulnus XD ( and we forget poor Hafsa when she was a good and efficient Valide).
Too bad that Hurrem and Mahidevran were condemned to be ennemy because they were in era where the fratricide legal was see as a "duty" and was legalized , imagine how powerful together (historical) they could be if it was of the era post Ahmed I for fight fratricidal law.
@@nesiacha3659 Yes i forgot Gulnus. Gulnus is also member of SOW.I will also included in the previous list Hafsa, Dilasub, Saliha and Sehsuvar ,because i find them influential somehow too.
Yes during that time Hurrem and Mahidevran could be very powerful, and probably they wouldn't be enemies.
@@drfhgs428 Yes theses womens you have mentioned are always forget when they have at least some influence ( Gulnus more as she was the last member of SOW, and Hafsa too) :(

They need to make a movie about Selim Khan, in several years he conquered a lots of territory, he double the ottoman empire, he was a one of the best and ruthless sultans.
He only reconquered territories which was already conquered by Suleiman, nothing special on him.

Suleiman nu a fost niciodată conducătorul " lumii", acest titlu si l a dat el singur, a condus un anume teritoriu, atât, nu toata lumea
Suleiman mocked at last by his people...thanks to the root of all evils... Hurrem!!!
O one respected him because he was a pupet of hurrem
Plus no one forgave him for killing mustafa
He chose the wrong son to rule after his death ! In which created the beginning of the end of the Great Empire ! Very sad !
Superb this film, great actor of Sultan Suleiman. Indeed magnificent film
What you said applies to Nurbanu too. She's a good player much like Hurrem, yet still hated.
@@princess7jasmine I am agree with you but I have already take the defence of Nurbanu in the commentary and I already said that I don't understand why is she hated.
I admire the emperor from start to death,he was a great warrior,a father, very determined even to death, and above all a sweet lover,he loved Hurrem in a very exceptional way.Good bye Suleiman the great emperor
