- Kate performs "The Wedding List" at the Prince's Trust concert in 1982.
Lyrics:
No, I'll never give the hunt up,
And I won't muck it up.
Somehow this was it, I knew.
Maybe fate wants you dead, too:
We've come together in the very same room,
And I'm coming for you!
Did you think I'd ever let you
Get away with it, huh?
He swooned in warm maroon.
There's gas in your barrel, and I'm flooded with Doom.
You've made a wake of our honeymoon,
And I'm coming for you!"
"All of the headlines said 'Passion Crime:
'Newlyweds Groom Shot Dead
'Mystery Man.' God help the bride!
She's a widow, all in red,
With his red still wet. She said--"
("She sure put him on the--")
I'll put him on the wedding list!
I'll get him on the wedding list!
I'll get him and I will not miss.
Now, as I'm coming for you,
All I see is Rudi.
I die with him, again and again.
And I'll feel good in my revenge.
I'm gonna fill your head with lead
And I'm coming for you!
And when it's all over you'll roll over
The butt of my gun:
One in your belly, and one for Rudi.
You got what you gave by the heel of my bootie.
Bang-bang--Out! like an old cherootie,
And I'm coming for you!
"All of the headlines said 'Passion Crime:
'Newlyweds Groom Shot Dead
'Mystery Man.' God help the bride!
She's a widow, all in red,
With his red still wet. She said--"
("She sure put him on the--")
I'll put him on the wedding list!
I'll get him on the wedding list!
I'll get him and I will not miss.
"After she shot the guy,
She committed suicide.
I'm coming, Rudi!
"And later, when they analysed,
They found a little one inside.
I'm coming, coming, coming, honey!
"It must have been Rudi's child."
I shot him!
"Never mind, she got the guy."
He hit the ground, Rudi!
"An eye for an eye."
Ashes to ashes...
"Eye for an eye."
Rudi!
"Never For Ever" is SUCH a masterpiece. It's like a storybook for grownups, from the album cover to the songs themselves. There's no filler in there. This song is actually the one that took me the longest time to get into. Now I think it's just brilliant. The lyrics really hold your attention. Attending the "Before the Dawn" performance in August 2014 was one of those "If I had a time machine, I'd want to relive that night over and over" moments for me.
Her first six studio albums are masterpieces 😍
HEY PAUL
Adult storytelling is such a spot on way of describing the album. I just listened to it again for the umpteenth time and it NEVER gets old.
Absolutely agree. Splendid piece, quite little known, but marvelous masterpiece.
Agreed. Never Forever is definitely a masterpiece.
Kate Bush is the very definition of a musical genius
This woman is the most iconic woman in music no one can compare to KATE Bush
Except - maybe - Chrissie Hynde.
Both men.
Greatest female artist of all time!...Bar none. No one's more creative, progressive and pushes the envelope more than Kate.
Chrissie Hynde is awesome, but doesn't come close to Kate.
Tori Amos stands head & shoulders above her.
You know you're a serious rock star when you've got Pete, Phil, Midge and Mick as your backing band.
❤❤❤ midge
Damn straight Mick 😍
And Gary Brooker
@@Syfoll What a super group !!!
and you constantly keep them in the dark so you show that you DO concider them as a backing band although they are experts. What a shame and I beleive that now that she is getting older when she sees these videos she will realize how she behaved to them.
She blithely held her damn top up as if it were something anticipated.
She lost absolutely none of the fire she brought to this song. Stunning!
thank you silly sam and max animation for getting me into this song

Kate did lots of dancing in that dress top for "Sat In Your Lap" - funny how it would finally give way on stage like that.
That voice, oh my god.
I just love this performance. Kate's vocals are fantastic - it's a real shame she never performed live a lot. And it's amazing how tight Mick and Phil are together. They sound like a rhythm section who've been playing together for years, but I read in Mick's autobiography that he didn't rehearse with the rest of the band until the final rehearsal. I guess the both of them are just *that* incredibly talented, tight players. RIP Mick.
When Kate played the song for the band at rehearsal Gary Brooker ask her about some of the chords. Kate couldn't tell him what their names were. I was surprised that she didn't release this as a single. My favorite Kate lp. Her one breast almost made a surprise appearance.
I wish she had done more truly live performances. I know it would have been impossible with how she performed, but this simple "just standing there and singing" sounds wonderful.
Especially she looks wonderful
Yesss!!
Too much talent to contain in one dress :)
LOL
Don't think pete and Phil can fit under her dress..
True that .. she should take it off 😍
Met Kate in New York City back in 1993 and then saw her perform live at the Hammersmith Apollo in September 2014. Both encounters with her were like nothing I'd ever experienced before. She is special. Then, sitting in the audience at the Hammersmith, I couldn't help but remember that brief meeting in New York when she took my hand and said, "Oh, don't weep!" and humored me by telling me that she remembered meeting my mother in an airport--of all places. I knew she was humoring me at the time, and because I insisted that my mother believed she'd met Kate Bush in a U.S. airport; but, it didn't matter. She sensitively played along, went with with the momentary dream; and, for that, I'll always be grateful and believe that there are "special" people that come into this "world." Kate Bush is one of them!
Lovely encounter with a lovely person.
Tears rolling down my cheeks.
Oh my that is such a lovely story. I always thought Kate came across down to earth, friendly and decent and yes a special, lovely human when I saw clips of her or interviews. This just backs up that theory. What a woman.
What a nice story, even if it's not true
I remember seeing that in the village voice in 1993 of December I wish I went to that and meet her lucky you 👍
Never For Ever is one of the greatest lps. Ever.
Indeed 😍
for ever
How can one person can be so amazing at performing AND writing.
Not to mention the producing directing..
And, be so amazingly good looking!
There’s no one else like her. Blows my mind. Too good.
As a young teen in the 1970's, she was my IT girl. Still is.
Her voice complements the guitar sounds!!! Amazing
The original "wardrobe malfunction!" Like a trooper, she just carries on and finishes the song. Love her! :)
By no means the first! But you are right about her carrying on like a pro (what else do you do?).
@@MaskedMan66 you sound bitter. they're just giving her a compliment stop being annoying
@@teddyeatspudding LOL I don't see how you're hearing me as "bitter." I didn't say anything untrue, nor nasty. Didn't you hear me compliment Kate? ;-)
A wardrobe malfunction and she still has the modesty to carry on with her performance.
A young Kate Bush wardrobe malfunction... can I be the pervert?
It might seem superficial when talking about the hugely talented genius that is Kate Bush, but I’ll say it anyway : wow she was so hot!! 😍
r.i.p bass genius Mick Karn xx
No one's going to mention the braids? .....so enchanting. This woman is fearless and in control, but always reveals her genuine humility. Such a wonderful, talented, gorgeous female. Long live Lady Kate Bush!
Wow those eyes mesmerize me. She is beautiful, unic, incredibly talented and adorable. I love Kate Bush forever ...
Most beautiful woman ever
What an all-star cast in this band!
Great choice of song Kate! At the Prince's Trust, in front of Charles and Di presumably, one year into the marriage from hell and the bride certainly wishing she'd put him on The Wedding List! 😄😄😄 Cheeky Kate 😍😍😍
I hadn't thought of that, all the other songs of the never for ever album she could of done she chose this one and she had had 3 prevois albums before that. If she was trying to promote the album you would think a more well known song like Babooshka which had made the top 10 would have been the logical choice. ! I wonder if she was hinting at something! It was a great song and well performed so maybe she just liked it and wanted to perform it.
I so do love this version. ...she's so fresh and exciting like a child blowing bubbles!!!! and the magic mick karn with his spectacular talents!!! I do miss his existence.
Oh my gosh! This is so beyond!! Phil Collins supporting Kate Bush on drums!!! I was 10 then ... THX for loading up this super performance!
Wow Phil Collins, Pete Townsend and the wonderful Kate Bush. It doesnt get much better than this
If i'm not mistyaken, Phil and Pete liked em young.
@@cmcc3721 kates like 23ish here I think
Mick Karn's Bass playing is so beautiful. Every time he plays someone else's songs he improves on the original. Maybe it's just me. I love his playing so much. Never showy; always just right. One of the tastiest players ever. I'll bet he loved James Jamerson.
I agree with you 100%! You're so right.
I'm just nuts about the guy. Listen to his Bass on "No Regrets" from this show. The album version sounds like a robot by comparison.
***** comparable to Billy Sheenan.
Louis Scarnato . You are absolutely correct . Mick is one of the greats of bass playing.
Mick Karn was a fucking monster. The only two left who even compare are Tony Levin and Trey Gunn.
Je ne saurais jamais dire comme j'aime et je respecte ce que Kate Bush m'a apporté.
And does no one see Phil Collins behind the drums!?!?
It's like an entire family of some of the best musicians we've had in the past 30-40 years all knew each other.
Kate, Phil, Peter Gabriel, David Gilmour, and few others I forget all made music together at various stages of their careers, and they're each legends on their own behalf.
+Al Ebnereza Yah...hard to recognize him with hair. Looks like Pete Townshend on guitar.
+Al Ebnereza What? David Gilmour is not there
Mick Karn on bass, it's an all-star band allright...
i couldn't agree more. they just don't make them like this anymore. beyonce ? please.
First thing I noticed!
damn this stage is packed with talented people
A rare talent! So privileged to be able to have enjoyed her music over the years…
i can’t imagine how hard are vocals are to do live, amazing !!
I just love it when she starts to roar 😆
That is Phill Collins on the drums?
LOLLL when her top breaks she is the true queen - totally uses it as part of the show
There never was and never will be another Kate Bush-sheer brilliance!!
She has been one of the few pop artists to date that actually had quality. Yes, it is even a privilege to listen to her songs.
Luv Kate. Saw Japan twice in the early 80’s. Brilliant and under appreciated band. Mick Karn RIP.
She's marvelous, absolutely.
I wish there are more videos of Kate Bush live performances but they are so rare.
Still a classic, 41 yrs later ❤
Kate Bush and Mick Karn, oh goodness!
my favorite Kate Bush song!!
Wow. Thats a stage full of unreal talent.
And as always...Kate. Wow.
This received 21 thumbs down? Really? What is wrong with people. This is fantastic. I've never seen this performance before. Thanks so much for posting.
I love that moment of "!" Pete and Midge have when they notice Kate's wardrobe malfunction. You see the eyes of both of them instantly going into her direction after it happened.
Kate Bush - The Wedding List [1982-07-21 @ Dominion Theatre, London, UK (Prince's Trust Concert 1982)]
o Pete Townshend (the Who) - guitar
o Midge Ure (Ultravox) - guitar
o Gary Brooker (Procol Harum) - keyboards
o Dave Formula (Magazine) - keyboards
o Mick Karn (Japan) - bass
o Phil Collins (Genesis) - drums
o Peter Hope-Evans - harmonica
What a backing band
Dominion Theatre?
Quality everywhere 👍Mick Karns bass tho !
Un band di grandi artisti per accompagnare una grande cantante Kate. 🙏
What band -- you need a class A band to back Kate. Love Mick Karn's bass.
That wardrobe malfunction at the end (3:30)was a smooth coverup. I once had this on VHS...😂😂😂
Raw talent spans time she is One of the best ever voice, lyrics and dance
oh goodness that bass line! everything about it is purr-fect.
Phil collins on drums? Pete Townsend on guitar?!
Wow, that was great! Thanks for posting. She's so shy and self-conscious, makes me love her even more. She really starts opening up toward the end. What a marvelous talent. There will NEVER be anyone like her.
3:29 Did anyone just saw her left strap oh her shirt just went flying off and she had to hold it all the way through the show. What a trailblazer, she has good reflexes and has a good mind about her body dignity. No one can match her perfectness 😍
What a band... But, what a woman/artist/genius/personality. Love Kate Bush.
The word are : female producer
My favorite Male (Phil) and Female artists playing together 😃
I love Kate Bush, she is an icon and her music is just unique and wonderful! 💜
Kate Bush is an amazing singer.
Kate had some great bass players on her tracks. John Giblin on breathing for example, again another fretless bass. I'm sure she would have appreciated Karn on this.
Another great performance from Kate. I think she has to be the most underrated music artists of all time amongst the general population. We know anyone who knows anything about music rate her very highly.
Mick Karn also played on 'Heads We're Dancing' from 'The Dreaming'.
Кейт - вспышка сверхновой. Ни в прошлом веке, ни в этом не было ничего сравнимого в ней. Она прекрасна.
Thank you for the rare clip. Kate is a supernova, pure perfection, uncomparable.
i need a karaoke version of this song so much
Kate Bush and the incredible Mick Karn on bass... I’m in Heaven! 🤪
Mick Karn on BASS!
Young Lady Kate Bush ...
Always a great pleasure to watch and hear you singing your Special Songs !
Thanks for posting!
😃👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
(From Brazil)
this is no news, but she is goddess
her reaction to the wardrobe malfunction is too cute! just keeps on belting out the song...i think pete townsend noticed though.
Bloody hell, that's Mick Karn on bass, how comes I've never seen this clip before, it's bloody excellent!
+zararity OMG !!! Mick Karn out of Japan on Fret less bass... Sylvian & Bush What a Duo that would be ... The heavens would part, and God would listen !!!
And they're both from South East London... it would be a great experiment, and I'd pay to listen to it!
zararity
2 of the best Original Artist's of all time ... Me too mate. Would make life mean something.
Stop all war's, feed the world's poor... All that kind of thing.
Maybe im getting carried away, but it would be very special...
+gordon hamilton Yes, I would prefer world peace, but let's be honest, David Sylvian and Kate Bush working together is a very remote possibility... but it's still more probable than world peace and an end to poverty!
To think I was born and grew up where these greats once wandered!
zararity
Old Grey Whistle Test, Ghost's seen when i was what 13, im 48 now still love the music.
Kate Bush, best Female artist in the world ...
God, i feel old !!!
She had a wardrobe malfunction toward end had to hold her top.up..no one noticed
.pure class
WOW! That's some backing band. A rare live treat from KB.
I had this performance on a bootleg video collection back in the 80s that was so low quality, I couldn't see her strap break at 3:29, nor could I identify any of her famous backing musicians. 😂 Still, I loved this performance - a NFE song sung with her Dreaming-era voice.
I really wish she had performed live more in this era ... she was a genius at the height of her powers, imho.
Loved her music and always had the biggest crush on her back then. Still do. Love yah Kate! ;)
I love how raucous the drums and the overall performance gets, and that fretless bass. Ooft!
Wow...just..wow!!!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
That is some band, right there! And, of course they make a great job of a great song. Love it! RIP Mick Karn... \m/
I'm a metalhead but she give a brutal performance by non-metal song
Oh this is insane ❤️❤️
Metalhead here too, black metal, death metal, thrash etc etc. Kate Bush my fav artist of all time! If I had to be stranded on an island alone, but I could chose an artist to listen to for the rest of my life, it's hands down Kate Bush.
Kate Bush is actually quite popular with metal fans. Cronos of Venom and Hoest of Taake are fans to name but two. Then you've got the likes of Novembre and Within Temptation doing covers of Cloudbusting and Running Up That Hill, respectively. I've definitely forgotten some.
She’s So Gorgeous And Sings Out Of This World 🌍 She’s The Greatest Ever And It’s. Kate Bush ❤🎉😢 Love 🧡 Her So Much ❤.
Some of the greatest musicians of our era grace the stage there. But Kate's aura, her persona is so magical, I have to say she overpowers everything that's out there. Nevertheless, that was an amazing show put up by those guys.
My favourite Kate Bush songs, along with many more 🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️
Still a great voice!...❤
So cool performance, along with, music legends.
She seems like she's singing for just a "warm-up"!
Lovely.
GIVES ME CHILLS WHEN SHE SINGS, GREAT PERFORMANCE
I Adore TheKateBush with every fiber of my being. :>
Staggering beauty and all the talent in the world to go with it! And was that a snippet of Jethro Tull to follow up? My god!
The simply divine Kate Bush 🖤
She's is so awesome in everything she's ever done. It is odd to see her just standing there and singing though - with no theatrics or dancing going on.
Yeah. Nice to see her not acting up the nutcase theatrical haha. Girl beautifully dressed here, too.
Wow, talk about an all-star band.
With Phil Collins on drums too!!!!!
Kate Bush , Mick Karn, Phil Collins !!, wow very high Calibre band x x x
Mick Karn is perfect for Kate's fretless bass songs like Breathing.
Bassist on Breathing is John Giblin
The great Mick Karn on bass! RIP Mick you were an AMAZING fretless player!!! (People if you have not heard the band Japan go check them out. Mick was their bassist.).
Art pop queen of England
Богиня
Her smile in the end 💘
wow this is a great find - all star line up and an awesome mick karn on bass especially - she does deal with the wardrobe problem admirably!
Why have I not seen this before today! So damn amazing, each and every one of them!
THAT'S how you handle a wardrobe malfunction! Even though I'd have been way too young to attend, I so wish Kate did a tour for her 'Never For Ever' and 'The Dreaming' material back then.
Great vocal. Her voice sounds better here than on the record.
Love the way she sings "doom" in this version.
Great backing band. RIP Mick Karn
Kate, Phil, Mick, Pete...a meeting of Gods. Was that the Olympus?
Great fucking comment mate. I agree one thousand percent.
