- While working on larger projects, I sometimes bounce back to simpler ones. And when
"We Were Soldiers" with Mel Gibson was running on the TV, I immediately remembered Tamiya's Skyrader… The kit was created at the end of the last century, but it is still the best miniature of the A-1 Skyraider ever built. I improved the model with the Aires cockpit and with small accessories by QuickBoost and AeroBonus. In this video I will show you a few tricks that will help you to build these accessories. I adjusted some parts myself. The video also includes the coloring of the cockpit and especially the coloring of the pilot's figure with acrylic paints. In the following part, we will paint and patinate the model.

The Exhaust staining is very convincing / realistic ! I've been up close to a skyraider on the ramp ( ground ) at an air show . Your detailing is 👍😮 really very Good !!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐👍👍

There's one thing however, the divebrakes were frequently wired shut on the Skyraider and not used....much like on the A-6 Intruder, if I remember correctly....

My first aircraft kits were 1/72 Lancasters. But I wasn't really satisfied with building planes in such a small scale, so I'll be going up a size to 1/48 instead. Tamiya's Skyraider will be my first in the larger scale.

Belle réalisation , beau montage , belle peinture, belles photos ... peut-être jouer avec un peu plus de nances à l'aide d'huile par exemple, car il y a beucoup de noirs et blancs??? Bravo.
Великолепно! Вопрос: нитролак (mr. Color) по сравнению с акриловым насколько устойчивый против уайтспирта? У меня он как-то вызывает опасение в промежуточном лакировании, поэтому использую акриловые лаки.
Спасибо за комплимент. Цвета серии Mr.Color - это акриловый лак (acrylic lacquer). Они устойчивы ко всем масляным и синтетическим краскам.

Děkuji za pochvalu. V současné době nejčastěji používám Aircobru od AMMO, ale mám i víc jak 15 let starého Badgera 100F, kterého ještě občas vytáhnu.
Excellent work, I'm a bit confused. Is the primer color you applied to the bottom of the plane matte white?

Moc hezká stavba, jen by mne zajímalo, jestli se vám nestrhne obtisk, když na něj nalepíte maskovací pásku např. ta 4 na horní straně pravého křídla.
Díky za pochvalu. Adhezi maskovací pásky snižuji opakovaným nalepováním třeba na dlaň, jako ve videu. Pak teprve jde na model. Také pomůže zalakování obtisku. Už se mi ale smozřejmě stalo, že jsem ji obtisk strhnul...

This is a navy plane so why would you put dust?
You don't need to dirty up bombs and drop tanks, they don't come back.
You don't put dirt on the wheels of a carrier based aircraft. There isn't any dirt on the deck of an aircraft carrier.
Thanks for the feeback. A1H normally returned with tanks. They didn't always throw them away. I got the wheels dirty too much.
