Great painting of the figure! I would suggest you leave the hands painted flesh from the middle knuckle on down to the end of the finger. I was a USN pilot and to allow dexterity of the fingers, we always cut the last part of the glove fingers off.

Such a great episode so full of information, techniques and tips. Only new to the channel and absolutely love what you do, especially the detail (which obviously is the reason for your name....I think??) so will be checking out what you've done previously and look forward to see future builds. Terrific job on the model so far btw.

    It is my favorite airplane.
I learned a lot of techniques in producing it.
I will use it as a reference.
Please come to the annual Shizuoka Hobby Show in Japan. It is a festival of models.

Thank you for the invitation, but it is too far for me. Greetings from the Czech Republic.

That's far away. That is unfortunate.
But model making is a universal hobby. I am supporting you from Japan.
It will be held again this year on the 13th and 14th of May.
You can find new products by searching "Shizuoka Hobby Show 2023".
Please search for the event when it is closer to the time of the event.

The skill level, build - vision and focus on detail you display are key components of a master artisan at work. The Muzak, replete in its '60's - B- surf movie type soundtrack is an awful, repetitive and thoroughly annoying addition to the edit. Yes, I do have volume control and I don't need to hear anything, but hey, I'm about to go mute to watch because I do enjoy hearing what you are saying about your technique! No soundtrack is required, personally I'm thoroughly entertained watching and catching those moments of dialogue. Bravo and par excellence :)

Thanks for the feeback. This type of music I chosed on purpose. In my opinion this music describes deplyoment of Skyraides in the Vietnam.

@@DetailsScaleModels Well, that's where we must agree to disagree! No way does that Muzak conjure images of the war in Vietnam... At 58, I knew many veterans and still have a few I'm in contact with regularly. Here in Sydney (Australia) we have our own very special connection to that conflict and although we didn't fly the AH - 1JH/J, many of our soldiers were supported by the USAF and Naval air - cover available, as well as our own... I know that there are copyright issues but I think of the Beatles, 'Stones, Creedance Clearwater Rivival among countless other themes that have become the soundtrack to the world's first televised military conflict... again, with access issues in mind, I acknowledge your individual vision... but that stuff is B - grade, 60,s US television cooking show material and just drove me nuts - not once did it inspire visions of that place in time and history... perhaps you grew up in a much different era :)

I send greetings to Australia I agree that Creedance songs describe the Vietnam era better, but there are copyright issues.

@@DetailsScaleModels As I did mention...and totally understand the issues... :) My comment was based on my humble opinion, it's your edit... As for the build, it's of the quality that doesn't require a soundtrack so awful :) My kindest, yet sincere regards :)

Absolutely smashing work! I've never made rivets before, and I'm having loads of issues finding riveting references for A-1J. Would you mind sharing where you got those? Appreciate your help!

I indicated the rivet series according to the photos of the real airplane, thanks for the feedback!

It doesn’t appear that this kit models the Sky Raider pilot ejection system.

Thanks for the feeback. The set contains an original AD seat. I don't know if this plane was equipped with a Stanley Aviation Corporation Yankee seat.
