This video was exactly what I was looking for in Adeniums care since I live in SoCal ain the Santa Clarita valley which is very hot like Sacramento. I was mainly interested in watering and winter care since our climates are very similar. I lost one Adenium last winter because we had frost, the other survived so this winter it is coming inside. I still am a little unsure of the watering even though you say twice a week in the hot weather. At a even once a week my caudex is very hard indicating it is full if water. I use a moisture sensor tool and water when the soil is dry at the bottom of the planter.
I have started watering my plants more often - over 100 degrees water daily, 90-100 every other day... I noticed my leaves curling - which means the plant is thirsty and trying to conserve water - so I started watering more often and the leaves flattened out!
Good video ! do you fertilize them in the winter I'm in California I'm trying to keep them on regular routine since our winters aren't that cold here ...
Mine are in the house in a dormant state... so I water once a month, no fertilizer.... but if u live where it is warm and they are growing then yes I would fertilize.
As one person commented about the music, the level could be turned down significantly. It tended to drown out your narration. Your content is nice though. The "trunk" is called a caudex and is basically a reservoir for when thing are even more deserty. 😊
I just got one A few days ago a quick question for you? The previous owner kept indoors can I put it in the rest sunlight or should I gradually get it used to it?
i keep mine indoors for winter - then move it outside when the lows are over 50 degrees. I put mine in full sun - some of the plants drop all their leaves from the change of sunlight.. but they grow back quickly. I will most likely move mine out in may.
@@growproteas1148 sorry for the late response, but thanks for telling me and you know what? I'll do you one better, if you want another great house song check out "Armand Van Helden & Riva Starr - Step It Up (feat. Sharlene Hector)" awesome song from the great Armand Van Helden.
What website did you purchase them on? The first time I bought from overseas they were detained for 2 weeks. Good thing they were succulents. So I'm weary, but if you have had success thats great!
Great video simple to the point and exactly what I was looking for!

Beautiful shallow pots, where did you find them?
got some at home depot and some at green acres nursery
Does all adenium arabicum has grossy wax leaves? Mine do not.
I checked my leaves today and they all look similar between regular adenium and arabicum - don't see any difference

Pls say your poting mix
I use a cactus mix you can buy at any store with a bit of potting mix added for better water retention.
