Hello! I would check the pressure on the hydraulics. Kabota is notorious for shipping these out on the bottom end of the spec. I have all three Kabota tractors, and all three of them were set up from the factory with low hydraulic pressure.
Good morning Mike. My 1998 L35 TLB has a TL720 loader and can easily handle the 275 Gal totes with green hardwood packed in tight. The loader model (720) with the bucket is the rated capacity in Kg so just multiply by 2.2 to get it in lbs. 1584 for my loader. I plan to go over to the Paul Bunyan show next month, hope to see you there. The L series tractors are a very capable option, I removed a 48 in maple stump from my front yard in a reasonable time, I couldn't lift the stump but it did drag it without a struggle!
Exactly right. A lot of insecure people out there who are jealous. Coming from a disabled boy who is jealous because I can’t work anymore lol! I just peddle Around. Dollars I have coming in with shock people but really a piece with my Lord. Very blessed
I have an older L series Kubota with a lift capacity around 1200 lbs. I had to install a shim kit to make sure I was utilizing the max allowable hydraulic pressure recommended by Kubota... it helped a lot. I can lift 275 totes green or dry... 330's only if dry. I can only get them up about 2.5' however. I think Kioti and Mahindra are hurting Kubota because of lift capacity on similar size tractors. Looking forward to seeing you at Bunyan! - Dick
Yep, if you have access to your tractors loader lift capacity, they show the measurement to be at about 24inches above the ground, (and this for almost any of the tractor’s). Did not know Kioti & Mahindra were “besting” Kubota in this area.
Lifting,Carrying,Hauling,& JUST BUDGING; ARE FOUR DIFFERENT THINGS. Only a L47, L60 series are the ONLY LOADER TRACTORS Capable of "Really LOADING" 1200 pounds. " JUST ABLE" to "Scoot around" a ( Not to FULL HEIGHT).is a FAILURE SOON TO HAPPEN !!!
It just kills me how many people get worked up over stuff that affects them in absolutely no way at all!! Keep on keeping on! There is no time for negativity! We love you guys! Keep up the great videos! God bless!🙏🙏
One takeaway that I got from your video is the thought process that anyone lifting, with any piece of equipment should go through. Your explanation was succinct and spot on. I'm guessing that you have been involved in some of this process in your career working in construction.
Yes can’t wait for Paul Bunyan show, hope no rain for riding the motorcycle to it,a nice ride down to it.The weather has been cooler here so greatly like this time of year Damascus,Ohio
Great comparison video. You're always showing viewers what can and cannot be done with the equipment. Helps people decide on what to purchase. Stay safe.
Good morning , Mr. Morgan .. work smarter, not harder , right ? You have the right equipment for pretty much any project you might want to do, and after all the years of hard work, you can actually enjoy what you do, obviously .. LA1065 ( the loader model # ) stands for 1065 kg in lift capacity. So you can actually lift over 2300 lbs with this loader. I work for a Kubota dealership, the lift capacity you were given by your salesman was incorrect. The nomenclature actually means something ! Love your vidoes :)
hi Mike, I added a set of 3 point hitch "bin forks" to my implements pile a couple of years back, I stack my (smaller Bins) loose. I love using the forks on the 3 point it feels so much more stable, and in a pinch if I need to move 2 at a time I can. I also find its much easier to grab a bin by just looking over my shoulder.
@@trophyfishn9757 That would make sense....that whole hydraulic top link setup is quite expensive though, but definitely would make the 3 point pallet forks very usable...just can't lift very high of course, but for a smaller tractor it might work well in a pinch, wouldn't care to do that all the time, but definitely something to consider....the 3 point on my tractor is rated about 200-300 pounds higher than the loader lift capacity LOL.
Just bought a brand new LX 4020 to move snow in mountain resort. dealership put howes diesel treatment in it and sold me a bottle to treat diesel because the temp i around 0 degrees F at 10000 feet elevation. I have 17.2 hours on the tractor and the thing won’t start. tried for 3 days finally put 911 in fuel filter and added a little to the tank as per specs. still won’t start. had to tow it through 4 feet of snow 150 yards as the kubota dealership in my area wanted to charge me 8 hours of labor just to drive out to and from my location because i didn’t buy it from them. took it to a kubota dealership in a different state but only 1.5 hours from me. They told me the DPF is completely clogged due to the fuel. SOOO no warranty and no insurance coverage. $12000.00 to fix. the tractor was only $39000.00 WTF! Kubota service and insurance and Sales all suck. They blame it on the other dealerships, no one is taking responsibility for taking care of tractor. Read your manual and warranty and insurance form. If it is fuel related. NO COVERAGE. DONT BUY Kubota! LIARS and Fraudsters. Does anyone have any insight or help here ? Just lost over $20000 on contracts for snow removal. and looks like i wont be getting this tractor back for at least 3 to 4 weeks, even if i pay the extortion money to fix it. and then im sure it will just gel up again and and wont start and will have to go through this all again in another 17 hours. only about 15 total gallons of fuel have gone through this engine 8 of which was put in by the dealer and i only put 12 oz. of howes in the 10 gallons of ulsd i bout from costco. teir one diesel.
Morning Mike, I've got the LX2610, up here in NW Ontario I use the small IBCs . With the softwood I can lift a tote, the green poplar I can literally just get it off enough to shuffle the tote out of the way. Loving the enclosed cab, not the transmission noise though. Great job with the comparison. 👍🌲🚜🌴
Mike. Do what's the most comfortable for you when splitting logs. There's no point in handling something heavy twice, unless you really have too. You have a system that works for you, it may be a tad slower, but being a tad slower also saves your back, so I think you've got it right.
Hi Mike, My little 2515 Branson is rated to pickup 2200 lbs. I have not tried anything that heavy. But I have unloaded a pallet of 14 foot dried lumber from the mill and had no problem and that is with about 500 to 600 tiller on the back for counter balance, and that pallet weighted on the way bill as 1743lbs Ron USCG RET
I use Schaeffer oil product called citrol in and aerosol can to get road paint and tar off of my vehicle just be sure to rinse afterwards haven’t noticed any problems with the paint and I have been using it for years . Also love your videos keep up the good work
hi there shows are so good the deer come to watch . Looking forward to being your neighbor again at the PB show . will have to stop over and sign the saw again , best to all john
I’ll see ya at the Bunyan show. Your property, your show, you run it and take care of it the way you want. If others don’t like it they simply don’t have to watch. I don’t agree with everything but I don’t have to talk you that in the comments. As long as it works for you it works for me. I love your content mike!! Don’t change. I know you know this but sometimes it’s nice to hear it from others even though I’m young enough to be your son haha. 😂😂
I'm sure it's probably already been mentioned..but those lift specs are typically a certain weight up to a certain height (either 50-ish inches or full height). So, you'll get a lot more lift capacity a few inches off the ground due to the way the loader geometries are typically set up. You're right in that the distance from the pin due to the forks is going to take away lift capacity versus the spec. Tractor Time with Tim has a couple of really good videos showing exactly how this works in practice on smaller tractors like the 1025R and the BX.
Hello Mike, love your channel and all of the content you have. Been watching for a bit, understand what you are saying about picking up the wood rounds, even after using the Split Fire. It makes sense what you said. But if you ever get to a point where a little help is needed. Think about getting a hookaroon-pickaroon tool to help out. I saw Adam from Hometown Acres using it and got one myself. It does help. He had a video about it, which convinced me on why it would help. Just thought I would mention that to you. Again, great channel. Really enjoy watching. Take care, say hi to the family!
We have a side by side and a small utility trailer that we use around the house. Love it! Keep the tools etc in the side by side and the debris etc I’m working with in the trailer, very good combination..😊
I have learned to trust your judgement and decision making over the years that I’ve subscribed. I know that you are a thinker/doer profile just like I am. Therefore you are doing it the way and manner which you think best and that’s good enough for me.
My JD 3320 will lift a full (stacked) 275 tote with green wood (ash/oak). But it doesn't like it. However, I do carry it up and down a slope. I have a box grader with extra weights on the back in addition to 150lb weights on each tire. I've got a set of Bradco forks. When the wood is dry, or if it is maple/cherry, it does it just fine. But, I move about 8 baskets per year around my property. I agree that I would need a larger tractor for a larger operation/commercial. Great video!
I’ve purchased a 3 point quick tach adaptor and mount my forks on that. I’m able to pick up a 275 IBC tote firewood with that. I have an LX2610. I wouldn’t be going on deliveries with it but it’s fine for moving wood in my yard.
Everyone has there system and I was one that asked why and makes sense after seeing this video why you did with the excavator splitter what you did also I'm sure the smaller tractor would not like the smaller basket of wood if the cutter was not on the back nice video
Mike, really enjoy the music you choose to play under your videos. Original. Appropriate. Did not realize you were also a music person. LOL Thanks for the good work.
For reference my L2501 can barely lift the 330gal tote with freshly split red oak stacked tight. No modifications/shims. Maybe 10" off ground, wouldnt want to lift any more on that size tractor. I mostly use the 275gal totes so its not so sketchy moving around the yard
"Of all the problems in the world. This ain't one of them" lol I love it!!!!! Best quote ever, and so very true. Thank you for the comparison, it makes more sense than just spouting numbers. Keep on keeping on.
real nice video on the different weight totals of totes. Question. l remember you thinking about moving the road a little more on flat side of hill headed to the back woods because when the snow comes you would slide might into tree just checking might want to move it before winter comes keep them coming great video thanks hello to every one.
Mike I have a kubota grand L3240 and I heat with wood pellets. I can lift 1800# with my tractor. I usually lift 1600# because then I can lift the pallet up over 5 stairs to my deck where I stack them for the winter in my carport.
it is amazing the little things that will get peoples Knickers in a Knot....it also lets you know they never pay much attention to previous videos when you have explained very well why you do things the way you do. Also a lot of people have never towed anything.
Mike im a retired ford worker and i watched your rifle shooting . You may have jinxed yourself by resting your barrel on the rail, never touch your barrle on anything when shooting. desterbes the harmonix of the barrel. The barrel viberates like a fiddle string if you touch it you get a different vib, accuracy will be different, just thought you might want to know. Keep up with the channel love the content....
"Goof off" which is a thicker and stronger version of "Goo Gone" has worked pretty well for me to remove paint and tar from my truck. It is a citrus cleaning product.
Mike, During my long stint in the refinery, our mantra was: "Lift, then point your toe and go." Everyone should avoid simultaneously lifting a load while twisting your back. Stay healthy & all the best.
I appreciate you and your family Mike and ALL your videos!! You have inspired me to do so much work around my home outside and in!! Keep them coming my friend!! 👏👏👏😊
Great video Mike. I think this will help a lot of people. You could try putting a set of pallet forks on the 3point hitch. I did on my Kioti and it works great!
Road paint removal: High pressure wand as soon as possible, the longer it’s on, the harder it comes off. I used to own a carwash in the Fingerlakes area of NY. Customers would ask me to get it off. ( Some customers thought the carwash did it! Lol)
Great information on the two tractors you have and the lift capacities they have. You know people will always have their thoughts and I wonder if the have a tractor or even have the background to commit on your actions. Keep the videos coming. Love them.
Hey Mike, was noticing the dust from cart headed in your woods. “Must be nice” to have dry woodlot 😂😊 he he. My woodlot here in central Maine is still wet and muddy from all the ran we have been getting all year. No dust since last fall for me.
Thanks Mike, food advance re load capacity, I had a Case platform backhoe back in the ‘80s with a adaptor for forks, it was an interesting experience, take care
I like the vesatility of that SplitForce. You didn't have to explain what you were doing out in the clearing using the SplitFire, I understand completely and I live on the other side of the world. There will always be people that have to complain about things, whatever they will find something.
Right on, Thanks for sharing your insight and the information about the lift capacity of your tractor. That’s good to know. Have a great day, all the best, and God bless. A retired North Pacific, Bering Sea, and West Coast Commercial Fisherman and survivor, ✝️🇺🇸🗽🌊🌊⛴🌊🌊⚓️
That loader is rated just over 1200lbs. I inquired about my loader, the dealer said the number on the loader is the metric value, so the 454kg converts to 1201lbs
I am actually shocked that the tractor couldn't lift those totes.... I recently purchased a 1626 Mahindra for work on my property along with moving IBC totes of firewood around. I sometimes wondered if I made a mistake purchasing a Mahindra over the Kubota L or Lx, but this right here confirms I made the right decision for myself... My Mahindra will lift those totes with the limit being the curl function when the wood is green, dry, it has no issues at all. In fact I may put up another video about it with both the 330 gal tote and the 275 gal tote stacked TIGHT with firewood, not tossed in for people like us to help make a decision on tractor purchases. Yes I would agree that Kubota makes a better tractor then Mahindra, but when it comes to cost and function, the Mahindra, for the money was a better fit for me! Thanks Mike for the video!!
My LX2610 will pick a full 275 gallon tote with hardwood mostly oak but it has to be dry. It will pick it up just high enough to get it on my goose neck trailer which is ruffly 4 feet high.
Hey MIke, I have had some success getting line paint and even road oil off my rigs with WD40 or karocine (if you can find it). Put it on and let it set for a bit before wiping it off.
I've tried both on the road paint. It was on the vehicle paint for a few days before I could try. But that was 10 yrs ago... and the road paint is still on our jeep.
Two weeks ago as i walked from the house to my building i heard a commotion going on and as i looked a young buck was stuck in a fence with his antlers. He was pretty good sized. As i walked towards him I could see one tine was holding him from getting away and talk about tearing up the ground. He finally got loose because i wouldn't attempt to try and get him loose without getting hurt. So after he got away i removed that section of fence, it should have been taken care of before. I bought a set of forks for my tractor and had to drive a ways to get them. They are galvanized except for the forks. I used them in Florida to unload building materials.
Use Acetone on getting the paint off. Had a white truck that got tagged with back paint. Even after 3 days came right off no smears. on forklifts the weight it can lift is detrimed more by the counter weights rather the hydraulics .
Mike I have owned a Kubota L 3130 for over 20 years and never had any issues. The bigggggggg mistake I made was not getting a loader, still don’t have one and have kicked myself in the butt many times. Other tractors seem to have a stronger loader than Kubota. Love my Kubota tho.
Good morning Mike, great video today. That really lite wood in Colorado was probably some dried out ASPEN they call it Quakie also, burns hot and fast and pops and crackles an awful lot too. Thanks for the explanation on the weight lifting for the tractors. Too many folks buy the smaller tractors then over work them and claim they are no good plus they don't take care of them either and wonder why they don't last. Anyway, you folks are doing a wonderful job around there and in the flat spot in W VA. Keep up the good work and great videos, stay safe . Fred.
G'day Mike, I wouldn't question what you're doing when I don't even know what I'm doing 😐. We only have two types of wood on our farm hardwood and harderwood, what we would call a foot block 12 inches in diameter 12 inches long at 12 percent moisture content typically weighs 70 pounds 👍.
Our city nailed me with white striping paint twice this summer; no warning whatsoever until you were trapped in the splatter zone. God forbid they put up signs so you can avoid the area. Anyway, after a thorough washing, I had good results using Meguiar's Ultimate Compound to the splatter areas. Requires another wax application afterward, but cleaned it up. Still have spots in the wheel wells, though.
My John Deere 2038 R would pick that up no problem you just have to adjust the hydraulic pressure up a little bit. Just thought I’d share that with you.
There is a wide range of weight between dry wood and green. I did an experiment with a piece of oak that was 1”x12”x12” - 😅basically 1 bd ft. I weighed it then baked it in oven at 200f. Green it weighed 6 lbs after drying it weighed 2 lbs
All the road companies around here use a hot melt paint with glass bead and sand filler. I think the main binder is a petroleum based thermoplastic resin. Bug and tar remover might work but smearing petroleum jelly (Vaseline) on it and leaving it over night before cleaning seems to be the recommended practice.
That Was A Nice little Jag Of Wood Split In A Short Time!! And Yes I know You Will Do What You Want And The Way You Want! And That Is What You Shoud Do! Don't Matter What People's Opinions Are! Because Everyone Has Got One!! Keep Smiling On!! 😄👍👊❤️
Mike, as far as fresh paint getting on your vehicle whether from the road lines or vandalism, I've used wd40 and elbow grease. It removes just the fresh paint, but probably a good idea to apply a coat of wax after cleaning.
Hey Mike I have a B2601 and I was able to lift a 275 gallon IBC tote full of oak/maple tightly stacked about 6”. Just enough to move it from point A to point B. Certainly not something I’d want to do all day. I have a backhoe for ballast and I had to use 4x4 or the back tire would spin.
Get Ready to "Rebuild-Replace" your front AXLE or Spindals or "Rool that Rig Over" with that kind of weight on that little rig. Just make " More" lighter-smaller trips to be SAFE !!!
Isn’t it amazing how many armchair experts there are out here. Mike you’re doing great and if it works for you that’s what matters. Love your videos and the content and I always look forward to seeing them.

Sent you a tag from Tennessee. I just got the nicest thank you card from Melissa. Totally unexpected 😊
I just have a small garden trailer that I pull behind my lawn tractor, very useful.
Have checked into the cost of a portable scales. I bet the cost would be reasonable 😊
I have a Kioti tractor about that size with loader. Love it 👍👍
Everyone has there system and I was one that asked why and makes sense after seeing this video why you did with the excavator splitter what you did also I'm sure the smaller tractor would not like the smaller basket of wood if the cutter was not on the back nice video
Great video Mike. It reminds me of a video I did picking up 200 gallons of water with my tractor.
Kioti 3510 owner here. No regrets.
Nice little trailer it would be hard on the axle to move the hose totes all the time like you said even though it lifted it hem
Mike, really enjoy the music you choose to play under your videos. Original. Appropriate. Did not realize you were also a music person. LOL Thanks for the good work.
Mike as an old body man we used wax and tar remover and it wiped right off
Thank you for the video
Good morning Morgans and friends. Have a day!
Hi Michael !
@@davidmorse8432 good morning David
Good morning Mike and family!!
My wife and myself will be at the Paul Bunyan show on Saturday. Looks forward to meeting you and Melissa.
Question. l remember you thinking about moving the road a little more on flat side of hill headed to the back woods
because when the snow comes you would slide might into tree
just checking might want to move it before winter comes
keep them coming great video thanks hello to every one.
I like how you break things down instead of just saying it
Yes myB 2650 loader 525 will pick up the smaller tote Un stacked over 2 feet cherry ash and some hickory
Can 100% relate to the back pain!! The stupidest things rip the back out and not always the heavy stuff. 🥴
we will see at Paul Bunyan on Saturday this year, I'm bringing friends too!
We thank you and have a great day !! 😊
You too!
I really love you and your family. I always enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for what you do. You are such a inspiration to me.
"Goof off" which is a thicker and stronger version of "Goo Gone" has worked pretty well for me to remove paint and tar from my truck. It is a citrus cleaning product.
Mike,
During my long stint in the refinery, our mantra was: "Lift, then point your toe and go." Everyone should avoid simultaneously lifting a load while twisting your back.
Stay healthy & all the best.
That sounds like ballet!
davidmorse8432 - that's funny !! I like your sense of humour !!
I appreciate you and your family Mike and ALL your videos!! You have inspired me to do so much work around my home outside and in!! Keep them coming my friend!! 👏👏👏😊
Mike, Mellisa, you make very interesting and entertaining videos and so thank you for sharing. All the very best from the UK.
Love them.
I’d love to come to the Paul Bunyan show again. I met you guys last year Missed you the first year when your grandson was born y’all left early.
MIke, we are coming to the Paul Bunyon Show for the first time. Heard you talking about it on your videos and it sounds fun. Thanks
Right on,
Thanks for sharing your insight and the information about the lift capacity of your tractor. That’s good to know.
Have a great day, all the best, and God bless.

Mike do it the way that suits you best. Hello Hunter. Have a great day be safe.
That loader is rated just over 1200lbs. I inquired about my loader, the dealer said the number on the loader is the metric value, so the 454kg converts to 1201lbs
Purple power cleaner works well for removing road paint
Mike, another great Video, thanks for sharing such good information.
I think diesel fuel on a rag would take that yellow line paint off. I know it works for tar/asphalt.
Great video, Mike. It never gets old for me. Always looking forward to the next one.
Really enjoy your videos and watch them as they come !!! 😀
I swear I could smell the oak from you splitting it😊
Thanks for the memories
My John Deere 2038 R would pick that up no problem you just have to adjust the hydraulic pressure up a little bit. Just thought I’d share that with you.
Thanks mike!! I'm with you!!
😄👍👊❤️
Looking forward to the Bunyeon Show and seeing you and Melissa.
Mike, as far as fresh paint getting on your vehicle whether from the road lines or vandalism, I've used wd40 and elbow grease.
It removes just the fresh paint, but probably a good idea to apply a coat of wax after cleaning.
Alcohol to remove Road Paint 👍
Have a Banger of a Day 😀
CYA at Bunyan 👍👍
Mike, love the blue trailer (my fav color) and is safe from DEWS attacks. Perfect size!
