I have the AGL 165. I have had to weld it up a couple of times where the hitch connects to the main unit and the bearings on the rear roller have not lasted for me either. I pull it several hours at the time but it has not been abused. It does a good job but is rather light made to do that type of work. I just recently took the hammers out and replaced them with the grass blades and have run it about 20 yours with them on it.
Good to know, I'll keep an eye on things. I am not using it in the same fashion as you, I may end up with 25 hrs per year with this, I appreciate your input.
Patrick thank you for the video, it appears that all my hydraulics are ready for that Impliment. Also thanks for proving no reducers are needed only the development of smooth action with the hydraulic levers. Can you tell me the overall length from the top link to the rear of the cutter when fully extended. Extremely jealous of your beautiful level land there.
@@ElkCreekAcres No problem buddy after I get back from my vacation I will be getting my new grapple I will post it on Facebook I love that new cutter you got does an awesome job great video

That's good to know, I appreciate that. I actually have a 3 1/2" PTO extension, maybe I'll try that in the upcoming season, I appreciate your feedback as well. Pat
A couple of questions, What is the cut height range? And about those remotes, is the float detent valve on the vertical lift, the only type remote that would work?
This one has a range of 1-6" of cut height, right now I've settled in on 4", seems to work well. As for the float detent on the one scv, it will work on any scv, you simply wouldn't have the option to float the mower. But as I have mentioned, I find myself not using float very much at all, it's easier to just pay attention and control it manually.
The mower was $2800, I think the two remotes on the rear of the tractor were around $1700. If you are talking about the overall length with the mower it's quite a bit, it really sticks out there, especially when swung out.
I’m hooked Are these cast or forged hammers?….do you have the make/model number…?…..if it’s light enough ….I will get a smaller Kubota. What is the weight and actual cut width…our roads…are just where the equipment hits the brush and trees….I want to give this jungle a scalping job…we are approaching the fire season…so I have to act….
They came with 1/2” AG and hooked right up to the outlets on my tractor. Just so you know, there is a difference between 1/2” AG and Pioneer. I know this because all of our larger equipment ie. the Dion dump wagon, the hay tedder etc. is Pioneer. I had to make adapters so I could hookup to them. I bought female Pioneer ends and male 1/2” AG ends and put them together with iron pipe.
They've been around here for for quite a number of years. Highway maintenance crews have been using these or other hydraulic versions for years, but they're just catching on in the private sector.
@@AlexBuker honestly I was pleasantly surprised at how well the 2038 handled this mower, though a 3R would likely handle it better. Not tippy at all unless I’m already on a slope, otherwise rock solid.
Mine did it after about 30 minutes. Not sure if I'd call it a fix, but I did manage to get the three clips on the implement side to grab. If you look at a couple of later videos it is were it should be. I think it's just a cheap design with the clips.
That sure did look good after cutting it.
Great video, Patrick!
Quite impressive, glad I saved for this, thanks Rod.
That Pasteur looks like Tim's front lawn on tractor time with Tim. He treats his lawn like a ball field.
I love a video, with Corps colors, waving at the side………. Semper Fi brother 👍
Thanks for stopping by brother!!
Thank you. Enjoyed the video. Nice to know it was for a horse pasture. 🌹
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome piece of equipment, Pat!! I'm glad it's working so well for you!
Thanks Mark, I'm enjoying it.
nice look foward to seeing more flail work
Thanks, there will definitely be more to come.
Well my friend, you da man! That’s a beast. Golf anyone?
Ain't that the truth!!!
Nice Job Pat, Looking Great

Can you give us a ballpark price on the offset and hydraulic package…what is your cut length…?

This is the Bestsco AGL-145, 57” cut, weight is 751 lbs. With the 2038R it was right at the outside edge of the rear tire when fully offset.
Great video, did the hydraulic hoses come with the pioneer 1/2" male couplers? If not, what did they come with?
They came with 1/2” AG and hooked right up to the outlets on my tractor. Just so you know, there is a difference between 1/2” AG and Pioneer. @@ElkCreekAcres Thanks for the information, I didn't know that. Much appreciated.
Dig the ag tires… what size you running?
I think the rears were 12x16.5

Is the cutting height adjustable on yours? How does it do mowing the lawn vs the heavier grass?
Yes, the rear roller and top link adjust the cut height. I’ve never mowed our yard with it, but I would imagine it would do a fine job.
@@ElkCreekAcres does your tractor have weights or ballast? Hows the 2038r handle the weight with that flail fully offset out? Does it feel tippy ?

yelp that's a nice looking cut. what do i have to type into facebook to find the 2 series or do i have to friend u to see it? thanks
Thanks BigJim, in Facebook search in groups for John Deere 2 series tractors.
noticed the pto shaft shied is in bits - ours did the same after 4hrs work from new - any idea of the cause and is there a good fix?

Lets see it cut some light brush.
If I can find some I will do that, but most if not all of our cutting is fields that have been maintained for years.
Top link adjust the height of cut
What brand / size hammers do you use
It’s a Betsco 57”, I think the hammers are 3”.
What size is the flail? What size of 2R do you have?
2038R and a 57" flail. This mower weighs 751 lbs, the tractor handles it with ease.
@@ElkCreekAcres thank you!

So who makes it.
This was a Bestsco, I covered that in the first video I did with the mower.
Who makes this mower ?

Yeah, sure is a nice cut.
Agreed!!!
