Do missionaries get to pick where they go? Or is it a thing where they are called by God to go to a certain place? I’ve seen some missionaries get papers, but I didn’t know if it was like Christian denominations where they specifically feel called to a place by God.
When you’re old enough to serve you fill out an application often called “mission papers” and submit them to the church and they are sent to the mission department of the church and one of the 12 apostles of the church looks through them and looks through the needs of missions throughout the world and wherever he feels through the spirit he assigns that mission, it is approved and you are sent a “mission call” which says where you were assigned to labor.
No they get told where to go. For example in the town i’m from in England they basically only ever have female missionaries here now because they’ve found it works better … as in people want to talk to pretty girls haha
