Your title has a typo - 2002 S70 does not exist. I had a ticking problem at idle. I had a Volvo specialist advise the o-rings needed replacement, and he was right. Dropped the pan, replaced, and problem solved.
Absolutely! Just make sure to get the sump transfer o-rings while there. Those will be less visible and are part of the pickup tube pathway. This little S70 is all good again! My son in law loves it as his daily driver. The toughest part is getting the pan in without touching the sealer. Just move or disconnect any potential obstructions and it goes right in. Thanks for watching!
@@houseofbrokendobbsthings5537 there aren’t many videos on this I appreciate the advice ! And that’s awesome , my C70 is having the same problem so I’m thinking of getting this done considering it’s at 200k
I was able to source the seals alone or in a kit here in the US with no issue from FCPEuro, Rock Auto, and IPD. Volvo likewise sold the seals at a much higher price.
The lower seal kit was a genuine Volvo number 30750783. You need the pan chemical sealer as well, and it is a good time to change the oil dipstick seal as well. Also you should replace the oil cooler to oil pan seals. They were not included in the Volvo kit. Readily available from Volvo or other sources I noted. If you are overseas, parts are even more readily available in EU.
@@houseofbrokendobbsthings5537 My friend what sealant are you referring to, on Ebay I found the kit with the number you sent me but it does not include the chemical sealant
@@andresbasti5061 Anaerobic Sealer Chemical Gasket Mahle - BUL1271200 - 30644517 - 124841 This is a standard sealer for Volvo and others. The part number above is from Mahle and I believe Volvo as well. Lots of suppliers for this sealer. It is special in that it cures in the absence of oxygen and forms a very thin sealant layer. This is not silicone sealer that is more prevalent on other vehicles. A small foam paint roller makes application very easy on a spotlessly clean surface. A little sealant goes a very long way. The key is thin and uniform application. My rule was to see a thin sealer coating that was not quite transparent and no gaps.
Where is oil pan removal covered?
What is the torque pattern.

You are correct. Same process prevails.
thanks for the video ! Did this repair correct the oil light ?

thanks for the video.🙂
I have the same pan but mine won't come out, the sump appears to be stuck onto it. Any ideas?
Triple check and check again all the bolts are out. The sealer can be a little aggressive and needs a little bump to break the seal.
Greetings friend, where can I buy a seal kit or maybe you have the measurements of the orings

while you are putting the borings in I can see you bent the crank pully
Not sure what you are referencing.
For this situation we don't need a gasket?
There is no gasket for the oilpan just a oilpan sealing compound
