I am so happy to see the Ford. One of the things that attracted me to your channel was that you seemed like a normal guy doing stuff I could do. Basic gear within reach of average people. Not all that fancy stuff that I know I would never buy, even if I could.
Lot's of channels "hey were upgrading to the new STUDCO rims ($675/each) so were going to need new tires ($700/each) "
Finally!! I find videos of using a winch for recovery waaaaaay more interesting and entertaining then those that choose to adventure without one. Thumbs up!!
The Ol' Gal is BACK! And looking good with some new bling.
I have an F250 just like this and watching your channel has inspired me to get out into the outdoors knowing I don't need a fully built up rig. Keep up the great work I love the content.
Yeeaaaa ol Ford. Missed her, love trucks with character. I’m saving up for the Zeon 8.
I missed her too.
Nice to see the old honest truck again. So fine.
I just installed a 10,000 lb winch on my F150 and hope never to need it. Good idea to have one in the snow you drive through my friend.
Warn is such a great company. Thanks for the info and video 👍.
Every truck should have one! Great video and great pointers!!
Finally!! Michael made some great points on spooling the winch line on the drum. One thing I suggest is the pin that attaches the hook to the thimble on the end of the winch line is to reverse that pin. Currently the cotter pin is in line with the hook opening. Flip the pin opposite of the opening. This mitigates the possibility of knocking the cotter pin out during operation. Small things matter in an emergency. Also with a hook on the line hook up when attaching the line to the anchor!!
Looking good! As much as I'll miss the schadenfreude of watching you dig out of mud and snow, this is a much better solution. 😂
Nice upgrade Jason and much less expensive then a new bumper. Also like the supports you added to the wings out by the headlights.
Very nicel - didn't realize a winch could be added without spending $5K for new bumpers. I have an old 2001 Ford F250 Powerstroke - thought about adding a winch a few times.
This might motivate me. Thankyou.
If I can advise you. Always pull all line out and then winch yourself. Reason is that in the first turn the winch have the most power in the last 3 meters of line it has only 30% of his winch power. It’s take time but it keep winch work fully and with whole power
hey, i use a forklift to tension my winch line too! though i run a hydraulic and steel line since synthetic doesn't last.
VERY NICE JOB ! LOOKS GREAT ON THE FORD TOO ! BE SAFE ! HAVE FUN ! GOD BLESS YOU ALL ALWAYS ! ENJOYED !
Something about a good truck. 🙂👍
Sweet upgrade. I put a Warn winch on my moped.
Great vid thanks. This is exaaaactly the mount & guard combo i've been looking for. It looks great.
Very informative, I don’t have a synthetic rope, but I like all the tips.
Hell yeah! Cant wait for the new content with the old Ford! Love those vids....
That winching of the Semi should be a Warn commercial.
sharp looking setup, looking forward to putting a 16.5 on the advbus
Love it! Looking forward to the rest of this series,
Nice winch! Before winch....nah we better not try that could get stuck. After winch.....No problem we got a winch if it gets stuck. 2 hrs later.....how did I talk myself into this?!?!? :) Looking forward to your winter adventures!!!
Yayyy. Glad to see the ford
Ive got a warn 16500 pounds synthetic on my Silverado 2500HD
how sis you mount it? What year Silverado?
Informative video you guys.
Thank you
🇺🇸👍
👍👍Another great video,mJosh, u r a great videographer!! Keep'em coming!👏😀😎👊✝✌️🆒☑️💪🏻☮🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hey hey, the old Ford will go now.
Great video! Trying to find this warn mount. But looks like it is discontinued. I know this video is 3 years old. But did you have any problems sourcing this item? Thanks!
Shouldn't the kia have been in neutral on that retrieval of the semi??
Looks really nice
Good winch! Have one
How did you get to the nuts that hold the mounts to the frame (the ones that replace the tow hooks)? I have this Warn mount system I'm putting on my 03 F250, and once the bumper is back on I can't see where you can access underneath to get to where the nuts need to go. You skipped over that part of the process in your video, and that was the one part I was hoping you'd show!
Not going to lie... I need your hoody.
Hey 👋 guys!!!
Awesomeness
Nice. Any more mods planned for the F250?
I want one!
Eddie
I'm looking to do the same set up for my 2002 F350 , Can you tell me the brand of the winch bumper , I cant seem to locate anything like that for my year.
Thank you
Finally!!!
Did I miss the entire Price of winch installed?
Moreford!
Sweet!!!!!
Is your drivers side headlight already getting condensation inside? You replaced them not long ago correct?
long overdue
What would the cost of having a winch installed on a similar truck, not including the winch and how long did it take?
@@raymonddriggers Good to know. Actually seems reasonable. If I do more expeditions with my F150 it might be a nice thing to have.
@@raymonddriggers Who knows. At my age and budget range, (S.S. and fixed income) I suspect that it is further down my necessities list, the winch that is, some LEDs might be nice to have. Been camping with Jason a few times, and haven't been anywhere I needed a winch yet. Not sure that I really want to yet.
davidh98F150 my 16500 pound warn cost about $600
isaac oliva ok. Not as bad as I thought.
That truck is not a real overlanding vehicle too big
Should have got a new steel bumper to add the winch. Too much work & not enough protection.
Too heavy
