    How to hip slide is a fundamental move in bellydancing. In this video I explain the basics of the hip slide and break them down in to step by step instructions. The basics of the hip slide is imagining that your hips are on a track that cannot go up or down but only perfectly horizontal. A good tip is to think (not necessarily stick it out) about extending your opposite shoulder out and up to accentuate the movement.

    I have a question I can't do this one it is hard it is because like I am just moving my whole body side to side am I fat!!???

      Try this. Place your hands straight out to your sides with flat hands place one hand against a wall and lock it in place. Stand in your bellydance position, bend the knee that is furthest from the wall with the objective in mind to touch your hip to the wall without moving your feet or planted hand. Hopefully this helps.

    i have a question i feel like im using my knees to much, am i or is that normal

      Completely normal Holly! The more you use your knees the more movement you will get on those accent hips! Keep up the work!
