Of course don't mention the flashing red lights!!! Now don't quote me I'm British and don't know 100% all traffic laws in the US but I can almost guarantee that a flashing red light at a rail crossing means don't cross until the lights stop. Guessing ..... both drivers saw the barriers raise but lights hadn't stopped and they went for it. Also guessing had an LEO been there both would have been issued warnings or fines. We have rail crossings here also and with lights and it's an offence here if you are caught [some even have cameras [automated capture]].
Wrong, which means you run the risk yourself of getting hit by a train, just because the arms go up doesn’t mean anything. You are to obey the lights, just like if it were tracks with no arms but only lights you stop until they’re off.
In the first one, if you're on ice like that, try to use the bumpy shoulder to get a bit of traction (while going very, very slowly). Hard to do there as it looks very narrow with a dropoff, but in most places the gravel sides will give you some grip.
Im constantly amazed how oblivious people are to their surroundings! That shiny thing that looks like a window into an alternate universe, is actually what is called a mirror and it shows things behind you. I'm constantly scanning my surroundings and my mirrors. WAKE UP!
That dump truck accident makes me so mad. That driver knew his brakes were out, he couldn't control his speed down the hill. Instead of turning it over or running off the road into trees, he chooses to plow into a sedan, which for all he knew could have had kids in it, and into traffic on a busy road. Like, WTH!
As far as I know one is to shift down until the engine can control the speed…. on a slope like this you might have to shift down to 2nd or 3rd gear… you descent WITHOUT using the brakes!!!! So even if the brakes were failing in this situation right here, the truck would’ve been at a much slower speed at the bottom of the hill!!! Pretty sure, EVEN if the brakes were not ok, this is a driver’s mistake…. But more likely there was nothing wrong with the brakes until this driver fried them to melting temperature on his way downhill…. If you doubt my words; please note the cloud of smoke around the truck as he hits the car…. Smoke from overheated brakes…. By the way I am grateful for the footage and information you supply; another channel showing this accident was far less informative!!
andre is bending the story a lot I bet here is why. andre is a lying pos. There was something that happened before he started showing the video. So, the truck just passed him and he HAD to pass it? That is a sign of an egotistical ashshole and you know he is a LIAR because at 16:05 he tries to say he saw an opening where the truck was FULLY in the right lane so he went to pass. The trucks inner dually was not even over the center lane! Did andre forget we could see the video? There is a lot more to this where he (or maybe the truck) started something before we are brought into it. If it WAS the truck he would have showed it. He did not. So it is safe to say that andre is lying about when it really started too.
11:55 No excuse for a brake failure. Your pre trip should catch most issues early and ratchet the auto slack adjustors. Even if there is a catastrophic air loss, the backup spring pressure should be able to bring the truck to a stop.
It could still happen, if he was riding his brakes and caused brake fade, no amount of air pressure or spring pressure would stop it. But that being said, he should have used his air horn, even with very little air pressure, that would still work. Also, yes, you are correct, pre-trip AND simple trucking knowledge would have saved this from happening. Stay in a low gear and use the jakes, and if you have an engine fan switch use that also.
Sure was. I was stopped at roadworks, and kept an eye out for any traffic behind me. A semi trailer noticed the stopped cars too late and jack-knifed the rig. I was able to drive off the road just before he went past sideways. My observation habits were formed from previously riding a motorbike, where you _expected_ cars to not see you!

Probably had music blaring away in the cab, and so took no notice, of ANYTHING! Stupidity reigns supreme when people like to dream, instead of paying attention to their driving and what's occurring around them.
23:00 yep that is a MAJOR ISSUE in the USA , when traffic comes to a stop or crawl...... *NOBODY TURNS ON THEIR HAZARD LIGHT's* to warn the following Cars, they have no clue that Traffic completely stopped in front of them
7:40 that woman had no right being charged for an “illegal crossing” the gates raised to signal safe passage before changing their mind. The city or train company should have to pay her and the trucker since they apparently don’t have a scenario in place to prevent the bars from raising if the time between the two trains is less than what a car needs to cross. I hope this trucker’s cam was entered into evidence to prove it wasn’t her fault.
Well the gate may have done that the lights were still on. SHE did not have a license and therefore should not be on the roads PERIOD. Even if you come to a railroad in the middle of no where with no lights and no moving gates is you like living and are smart you come to a stop and look BOTH ways.
Why should they pay for her and the truckers disregard for traffic laws? You're not allowed to enter the crossing till the gates are raised and the lights are off. Plenty of people don't wait for the lights but plenty of people also run red lights, that doesn't make it legal.
9:45 LMAO IMAGINE witnessing a train obviously about to hit a semi RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU and instead of getting tf out of the way you decide to stand there like a dolt and film it

She lacked brainpower. To anyone with a working brain reverse and maybe a little damage to a broken window is better than a TRAIN using your car for a football. Those things that come down are visual and not physical stoppers.
6:32 Reason why you NEVER start driving until the lights turn off. And what everyone should know is that the tracks are never safe, even when the lights are off. That's why you slow down and look before you pass even though it might look clear. Stay safe out there.
6:50 idiots "trapped" in a railroad crossing... Those gates are no match for your vehicle, you can easily drive though them and it will cause infinit less damage to your car than a train ramming tou vehicle
You technically have to listen to the lights and bells, not the gates; and also it was her decision to destroy her car instead of going through the gate
Pro tip from the Netherlands regarding articulated trucks and railway crossings: Create a book containing every railroad crossing that is not flat, give every crossing a number and write its angle of approach and crest angle on it in said book so any trucker knows aforehand if his truck can get through it.
@heijxje Your idea has merit. Plus here in the US EVERY crossing has a unique code [posted near the crossing]; all that needs to be done is document the angles.
@therestingrancor8259 what good would hazard lights have been?..that would have told no one ahead of him there's a problem and this doesn't even have the live audio so who knows if he did lay on the horn.
I'm not sure if that silver truck in the first clip purposely turned into the parking lot just before the semi lost control, but the timing was incredibly precise.
That truck at the end taking that hit like a champ reminds me of the time a friend of mine ran into the back of a truck like that and the truck ended up on top of his car. No one was hurt.
I dont think they can. If the road is ice and even if the truck is going about 5 mph at first, the downhill and weight of the truck will cause it to pick up speed and momentum which could be very hard or impossible to stop as it requires an amount of brake pressure to prevent the wheels locking up WHILE also being enough to slow down the truck (This is easy for cars to do, but could've been impossible for the truck.) Even if the driver found the brake pressure that keeps the wheels from locking (lets say 50% pressure), that 50% could not be enough to slow down the truck ESPECIALLY because its downhill. So you could be wrong. But of course if there was an opportunity of this "fine line" of brake pressure I'm referring to, yes, the truck driver would need to be skilled in order to find it, although he would've needed additional stopping distance and might've still hit those cars (I don't know how far back the truck was).
4:16 The driver is a rock haller I'm sure he doesn't do any long hauling being in a day cab, so he's not gonna be pulling over in anyway to get sleep. I did that type of trucking for two weeks to realize how hazardous they have you to drive through some very small country roads, especially in Florida, where I had to start the day at 3:30 in the morning just to get to one of the quarries, then they have you blast through school zones and bus stop areas to hurry up. They called them "rock heads" sometimes with that form of truck driving.
I bet you that red car stuck to the rear end of that 18-wheeler. That 18 wheeler driver knew he was there. She just wanted to teach him a lesson so he drove on and on and on
15:13 Those 4 wheel drivers are amongst the worst to deal with on the road! They go below or exact speed limit, when a truck passes them, they feel like they have to repass the truck for some odd reason. I understand where the semi driver was coming from, I just wouldn’t do it. It’s very when 4wheelers does that.

OTR driver here.. if im tired im not driving i dont care what my dispatch says.. they preach safety and i live by my safety first!!
i do not drive for a living but i used to have to drive long distances when i moved out of state. i can’t understand how anyone can drive when they’re so tired they’re at risk of falling asleep at the wheel. there’s was once where i was that tired and i parked in a parking lot and took a nap in my car. semis tend to have freaking sleeper cabins on them. if i could stop to nap in my 2007 pontiac g6 then someone can stop to nap in their vehicle’s sleeper cabin
@@misseselise3864 understand.. but some companies force drivers to pick up or deliver on time.. im not making excuses for the truck driver at all cause at the end of the day companies preach safety but then want to force you.. i honestly can care less what the company says if im tired those 18 wheels aint moving!! The railroad crossing one is so stupid, just drive through the gate 😂
Even though the lady at the train crossing was unlicensed, the arms went up, signaling it was safe to cross. The semi was almost a victim, too.
But she leaves the car there. You should’ve done what the truck driver did back up. It beats buying a new car.@Sharon Davis 🤦♂️🤦♂️
she was a total fool, those crossing barriers aren't made out of concrete lmao you can just ram through them without much trouble, better to have some scratches on your car than getting it completely destroyed. but then again.. when she gets out of the car and you see her face and what she's wearing? yeah, her kind aren't too smart!!

WAKE UP!
That dump truck accident makes me so mad. That driver knew his brakes were out, he couldn't control his speed down the hill. Instead of turning it over or running off the road into trees, he chooses to plow into a sedan, which for all he knew could have had kids in it, and into traffic on a busy road. Like, WTH!
I would venture a guess that he probably panicked and froze , as he didn't even blow his horn or anything.
@@kasmanien exactly, infuriating.
So the camry guy had no patience to ride behind behind a semi that was going faster than him to begin with?
andre is bending the story a lot I bet here is why. andre is a lying pos.
I mean its kind obvious how it got stuck

These top 12 truck accidents are incredibly intense and a sobering reminder of the risks on the road. Thanks, A&E, for compiling these moments.

Well I yelled omg more than once. Great videos.
Great vision from the silver truck driver.

The trailer truck literally heard the train beeping but kept going-
Probably had music blaring away in the cab, and so took no notice, of ANYTHING! Stupidity reigns supreme when people like to dream, instead of paying attention to their driving and what's occurring around them.
23:00 yep that is a MAJOR ISSUE in the USA , when traffic comes to a stop or crawl...... *NOBODY TURNS ON THEIR HAZARD LIGHT's* to warn the following Cars, they have no clue that Traffic completely stopped in front of them
I do that if I'm at the back of the line. Then turn them off once I'm further into the fray.
Seems a lot of semi truck drivers are former prisoners. That might explain the aggressiveness for some of these truck drivers.
True. You should see some of their behaviors in truck stops.
22:19 I was wondering how it flipped so easily. 😅
Top heavy. The centre of mass for the trailer was high above the deck, rather than on the deck.
Drove up on the side of the car flipped because all SUVs are top heavy
Some people just need to take a deep breath and count to ten.
I’ve watched a lot of videos on plane crashes, but this one really highlights the key issues.
For 14:50 that spot is a blind spot
Reminder for everyone: If you cannot see the driver in their mirror THEY CANNOT SEE YOU
9:45 LMAO IMAGINE witnessing a train obviously about to hit a semi RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU and instead of getting tf out of the way you decide to stand there like a dolt and film it

If you're feeling sleepy just pull over, lol yeah your boss will be ok with that 😂
The lady stuck on the tracks had more than enough room to pull forward
We have that issue sometimes here in town at the crossings.Hasnt happen much lately though.
Or back.
She lacked brainpower. To anyone with a working brain reverse and maybe a little damage to a broken window is better than a TRAIN using your car for a football. Those things that come down are visual and not physical stoppers.
He says just pull over if you’re tired? Most companies don’t care if your tired your job is to keep driving
5:41 well played brother
6:32 Reason why you NEVER start driving until the lights turn off. And what everyone should know is that the tracks are never safe, even when the lights are off. That's why you slow down and look before you pass even though it might look clear. Stay safe out there.
Even in winter I roll down my windows and listen for horns. I have a heater in the cab, two minutes of cold won't do anything to me a train could do.
6:50 idiots "trapped" in a railroad crossing... Those gates are no match for your vehicle, you can easily drive though them and it will cause infinit less damage to your car than a train ramming tou vehicle

@therestingrancor8259 what good would hazard lights have been?..that would have told no one ahead of him there's a problem and this doesn't even have the live audio so who knows if he did lay on the horn.
why was the camry3250 dude so hellbent on passing the semi when his exit was 1 or 2 miles ahead according to him.
I'm not sure if that silver truck in the first clip purposely turned into the parking lot just before the semi lost control, but the timing was incredibly precise.
He saw what was coming, that was clear enough.
7:15 Oh noooooooooooooo! 10 babies were inside!
1:22 that truck got lucky
That truck at the end taking that hit like a champ reminds me of the time a friend of mine ran into the back of a truck like that and the truck ended up on top of his car. No one was hurt.
0:00 you’re supposed to wait for the lights to be off before crossing the tracks
at 13:30, the guy prefers filming than calling 911... what a great civilization we have !
1:11 To avoid any collisions in this situation, the driver must have exceptionally skillful driving.
I dont think they can.
If the road is ice and even if the truck is going about 5 mph at first, the downhill and weight of the truck will cause it to pick up speed and momentum which could be very hard or impossible to stop as it requires an amount of brake pressure to prevent the wheels locking up WHILE also being enough to slow down the truck (This is easy for cars to do, but could've been impossible for the truck.)
Even if the driver found the brake pressure that keeps the wheels from locking (lets say 50% pressure), that 50% could not be enough to slow down the truck ESPECIALLY because its downhill.
So you could be wrong. But of course if there was an opportunity of this "fine line" of brake pressure I'm referring to, yes, the truck driver would need to be skilled in order to find it, although he would've needed additional stopping distance and might've still hit those cars (I don't know how far back the truck was).
more of these videos pls

This was so fun to watch! You have a real talent for making great videos. 🎉
She just wanted to teach him a lesson so he drove on and on and on
7:03 how stupidare these people to just drive through the gates😳
15:13 Those 4 wheel drivers are amongst the worst to deal with on the road! They go below or exact speed limit, when a truck passes them, they feel like they have to repass the truck for some odd reason. I understand where the semi driver was coming from, I just wouldn’t do it. It’s very when 4wheelers does that.
6:52 this is exactly why you should always wait till the lights stop blinking.
When there's snow go slow;
When there's ice think twice!!!
