The cost is very important. If my calculations are correct, you used 160KWH @€0.35 KWH = €55.90 in the UK I believe the service station charging points cost 74p per KWH = €0.87 more than double what you pay. so the cost in the UK would be a massive €139!!! where as mt diesel range rover evoque would only cost me €70.61 at uk prices for the same distance. My Epower nissan would be €65 So in reality in the UK this car is extremely expensive to charge on a long journey. I do appreciate that home and work charging are cheaper, but they are still significantly more than you pay. Very Interesting Video, Thank you.

If you do alot of long range driving, its worth getting the ionity pass, brings the price down to 0.43p.Tesla chargers are becoming viable for non tesla drivers, they are also cheap. 7p charging at home somewhat balances the costs out in reality.

Yes, which is why you really want to smart charge at home, on a smart tariff at 7.5p/kwh, and just infrequent public charging to top up. It can work really well, but not for all.

Ionity chargers often have very heavy cables causing the communication pins to not connect correctly (they are on the top of the plug)... hold up in the handle until handshake is done.. you can always try a light pull up on the handle.. if it feels like its moving abit do the holding up trick (tear and wear causing the sagging)

That white line at the top left of the wind screen - is that a reflection of the ambient lighting or was the wind screen damaged? Just curious 😂

430km with 100%… laughable and286km having used 87% of the capacity. Shows how false and inaccurate the WLTP figures are, 618km… yeah right…. In which parallel universe?
To be safe, a driver should take the WLTP figure and halve it, that is the real range.

I agree WLTP is not a good number. It’s to too bad no changed are planned!

WLTP is already pretty decent figure. There are things even worse than the deprecated NEDC you could possibly never dreamed of. One of them is JC08.

However, if you turn off the climate control(both AC and heater), and drive at a decent temperature like 20 Celsius degree, it will turn out to be close to the WLTP figures.

@@oijhhytdirhrbru cars in the 50’s didn’t have heaters… I will not accept paying 50k ( or any amount ) for a car and have to bear either freezing or sweating in order to gain a few extra miles.

There is a big difference in range between motorway driving and mixed driving of town, B road driving. To be fair to WLTP, it represents a mixed driving range.
A EV has little opportunity to recover energy when cruising on the motorway and their is wind resistance of course.
