Jacob said he put in 5292 overall vocal tracks to create this master vocal symphony! Asked 144 of his friends to sing “MOON” in b-flat in the starting part of the song ! These friends are Chris Martin, Charlie Puth, David Crosby, Quincy Jones, Hans Zimmer, and many more!! This piece has such a deep musical meaning that it requires a whole process to register it in your mind ! He is a genius

Did you notice the microtonal shift in the "Huckleberry friend, waiting 'round the bend" section, from 13:44 - 14:08 "? It's not an engineering trick. Jacob literally sings these changes without the aid of any pitch correction technology. If you search his videos, he reveals why and how he does it. He has taught me so much about harmony and intonation and how even a subtle pitch shift can change the impact of the music. Jacob is also blessed with having perfect pitch and can identify just about any note or sound in his environment and then immediately sing it - bang on! To the cent!

Yes, he won one of his four Grammy awards for this. The category was best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella in 2020.
    He also won for:
-Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals for his cover of All Night Long in 2020.
-Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Capella for You And I in 2017
-Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals for Flintstones in 2017.

Great reaction and analysis! The more I see of him the more I just see the ultimate, almost frightening combination of unparalleled genius and crazy hard work. When I think about the totality of what he will have achieved by the age of 50, he seems like he’s going to be the greatest musician/composer/producer/theorist of all time (if he isn’t already).
And to think *we are alive at the same time* as someone that (hopefully) will be analysed in music classrooms for many years to come! what are the chances...

I'd suggest the extremely emotional song that is a Jacob original next; In the Real Early Morning. Nya Crea thank you so much! I literally watched it again today. There is something so captivating about this song to me. It’s made me laugh, cry and vibe all in a single song. Jacob Collier is the most Musically talented artist of our time. There’s simply no other way of putting it. He is able to use his perfect pitch to sing harmonically in a way that nobody else can. Another thing that I highly recommend watching is the video about moon river by a channel called “listening in” they breakdown his song and explain the way Jacob modulates into so many keys through out moon river. (I think there’s like 12 keys or something lol). Long story short is that Jacob Collier is truly a master at this art. I am captivated by this song in all its complexity. I first listened to it about 7 or 8 months ago and I haven’t gone a span of more than a week without listening to it. Hundreds and hundreds of listens and I’m not sick of it rather I hear something new each time. This song has taught me a lot about music theory and the complexity thereof but also of more simple things like how to create from an honest place and things about life. I am in debt to Jacob for this master piece of art

In many ways, he invented the harmonic progressions he used or at least significantly innovated others' ideas, however one would like to characterize his contribution to harmony. We're all at a loss for words to describe this type of genius.

Please give any grounds for your argument. This arrangement is probably the most complex contemporary vocal arrangements there is. If you actually understand how groundbreaking this was then you would change your opinion.
