I’ve always felt LED bulbs were a terrible idea. I guess candles, live entertainment, and rising and sleeping with the sun would help, and minimizing devices.
LED's are bad ideas when implemented improperly/cheaply.. Unfortunately it can be a bit of a minefield when selecting products. Most eyestrain from LEDs is actually from poor PWN and low CRI light outputs. Also the "all LEDs are blue" is false in more ways than one but let's start with the fact that not all LEDs give off a blueish white light and devices can change their Kelvin rating by the time of the day. Going from a cold white light in the day o a warm white light at night (again something Andy gets backwards). The sun actually puts out a "cold" blue/ultraviolet (bluer than blue) light but through refraction and filtering a warmer light is received. At night, this effect is most prominent. Also one advantage of LEDs is that they dont give off ultra violet light as CFLs, incandescents, and the sun do. However this is an incredibly complex field that can't be summarized in a comment by someone who doesn't know that much about it but still knows far more than Andy Mant
I routinely ask my patients to consider blue light blocking glasses at the end of the day which seems to improve their sleep quality. Remembering to do it however can be more challenging although this video was today’s reminder for me 😊
I do get migraines, and my ophthalmologist gave me a pair of yellow lens glasses to try for a week, but I got such intense migraines from them I gave them back and never tried anything else again. Besides that, I don't understand what he's talking about here during the day, and then at night, and red bulbs, etc. No clue. I'm more confused than ever.

I can't look at any device without blue light blockers. My eyes will burn and then it feels like someone punched me in the eyes. I have to wear glasses and shields on all my devices. These devices, leds, are ruining people's vision.
You don’t necessarily need them in your specs. Nowadays, most digital devices have an option to put on blue light filters. Also, blue light from the sun is more damaging as long-term prolonged exposure can cause early onset cataracts and Pterygium. Blue light blockers on spectacles are primarily for marketing purposes and there is so much mis-information about them, with patients thinking they can use their digital devices longer….not good!
I might try blue light blocking glasses, but to tell you the truth, I've worked as a designer/engineer using CAD programs for 40 years, I'm 61 years old, and never really had any headache or vision issues. Granted I've always worn soft contact lenses for distance vision, which is pretty bad at like -5.00 and it was like that several years before I started wearing contacts when I was 20 and before using computers.
You could also just adjust the color temperature of your monitor to a warmer Kelvin range. Blue light in itself will not cause eyestrain. There are actually many more reasons why your monitor could cause eyestrain before blue LEDs filtered through a gel and then again filtered by an LCD such as refresh rate, sharpening settings and even distance from your monitor. Blue blocking glasses are actually likely to cause more eyestrain due to distortion and astigmatism
@@tcrenegade I feel like staring at the screen that's at the same focal distance all day is what get's me. For example. when I first get up in the morning and look at the starts in the sky on dark morning or road signs in the distance I can see them pretty clearly. But when I'm driving home after working all day staring at the computer screen, my distance vision seem pretty blurry.
Dang! Then my living in visibly deep blue light (like I'm deep underwater) must be like fire at the nanometer scale? But my friends ask me "are you doing a Benjamin Buttons thing?" (I never saw the movie.) And I've noticed my night vision is pretty awesome ever since I got those lights. But, I am prone to "silent migraines?" in full spectrum daylight. Never at night. I used to be not able to type on an unlit keyboard in deep blue light. Doin just fine . I don't like reading my phone in daylight. Polarized sunglasses also help during daylight. Cloudy days, don't need them. Sure is a cool pattern with my sunglasses on and my phone has a privacy screen protector. Did you know some car manufactures polarize their windshields. you can see the the degree of variance with polarized sunglasses. Useless super power I know... If ya VR a lot use sunscreen for your face. Daylight makes me feel like a fish outta water.. 🤣🤣
@@BobandBrad I respect that but you implicitly believing Andy shows that you haven't looked into things enough to show that he doesn't understand what he is talking about. Light therapy is a real thing, but he doesn't understand it or even basic principles of light. Read three Wikipedia pages and you will know more than him and the field that he claims to be an expert in as well as understand just why he is wrong. First look up how exactly an led works, how light waves work, and how far red and finally look up lightwave penetration and make look up basic reflection because he doesn't seem to understand that as well. I mentioned on his first video to please look into this more as it is very clear this man does not know what he is talking about. So instead you put out two more videos by him and only respond my my comment calling you a sell out.....this just shows that you don't care about the information given to people, just the appearances. A few questions, if that’s ok? Is she English speaking? Do I just get profit going into my bank every week? or can I get my weekly profit reinvested & get a monthly profit instead with a further option to increase my initial investment every month? Do I get to see where she is making profit/loss? Lastly, how much does she charge for her service? Thanks for your patience, I am an experienced investor in another field & I am looking to expand my empire.

I had severe double vision and light sensitivity during an MS flare. Red colored sunglasses were the only thing that soothed my eyes during the day.

This one gave me the blues.

Where can I buy blue light blocking glasses to read on my iPad at night?
Walmart
I have a six pack I got on Amazon
I have glasses that say they are blue light blockers, but they aren’t red. I admit that as soon as I started wearing them, I slept better.

blue light from the sun isnt dangerous, but blue light from a LED causes cell damage, nice
