I have been asked many times what NBN ISP providers I recommend well here is the deal... Aussie Broadband is damn fine! ► Signup to Aussie Broadband with code "990911" and receive $50AUD credit. ► www.aussiebroadband.com.au/nbn-signup/
I am affected by this. I have had massive issues since joining the NBN fixed wireless. During the day I get 42-48mbps download but during the night I get 4-8mbps. I was initially told that my tower was being upgraded after 1 month of complaining to my provider and the expected day of completion was 31st March 2020. After another month of my provider trying to fix and saying it should be fixed the new timeframe is 31st of December 2019. Still a long time for a tower that isn't 12 months old.
I'm stuck with wireless here in Rural Oz - Imbil QLD - and for the last 2 months have had internet &VoIP service cut with no notification from NBN. These dropouts happened on weekdays, went from 2-8 hours and had restoration of service on 13th May 2019. As it turns out, I called iiNet to comlain about these events and was told it was NBN doing "...maintenance and upgrading the wireless towers" and that iiNet were sick of fielding complaints due to NBN killing service with no warning. If this is how NBN treat their (unfortunate) customers, then we are stuck with a very expensive lemon.
@DeYoRa 84 while I agree with you the LNP sold out the country, for a buck, so they are also directly responsible for the mess. Remember the Corporate world can only make recommendations, the government implementes the policy.
Now only if they could fix the FTTN connections that they installed more than 1km from the node. I'm 1.3km from the node and only on a good day do I get 25Mbps and most other days 22-23Mbps.
I've had NBN FIXED wireless for 1 year now. Some days I get 36mbps, other days I get 5mbps and still paying the same price. Its disgusting. We are so backwards here in Australia.
G'day Pat How will I know NBN work has commenced in my street? According to the website, it's meant to be here by May (this month) however I haven't seen any work or anything. 3 months ago, I saw some good people putting in thin yellow wires into the ground in a nearby street. I had a quick chat with them and they said my street should get it within a couple of months. Cheers!
Hi Pat, Good news if they actually tell the truth. Dumped NBN Wireless 3 months ago after two years of not getting anything near what was being paid for. NBN Co. haven’t responded to my email requesting they let me know when they have a product fit for purpose so I could give it another try. Quite happy with the service I now receive on 4G with 2 bars of signal, eats the NBN and not too expensive as it works. Have a NBN box decorating a wall in the house, not the same without the flashing lights. Good luck to all NBN Wireless users, you’ll need it. Cheers Mike
You're not wrong Mike. It's a nightmare and we Aussies stuck on Fixed Wireless do not deserve this second rate service. The digital divide is torn between the wealthy who can either afford an FTTP upgrade, or moving into a development already fitted. It's a national disaster. We all deserve access to high speed, reliable internet 100mb's and above. Times are changing and the need for more bandwidth is growing with expanding families. The only way to change this is to boot out liberal at the next election and hope Labour goes into some recovery on this issue. Even as a temporary solution, FTTC would give us all a much better connection until a proper infrastructure overhaul is done
Maybe the airwaves is the way to go so to speak! Because you won't have the fibre directly connected to your tablet or whatever! That's why we have Wifi!
fixed wireless is the worst thing ever going from a copper connection central Queensland to a fixed wireless connection at the coast is horrible I went from 25-30 ping to 40-50 ping and the speeds went from 100mb down and 20mb up to 40-70mb down and 10mb up and the internet becomes almost unusable anywhere from 30mins to and 1
Im Tryna play Fightcade to play Retro fighting gams like JoJo bizarre adventure and street fighter. I ahve bought an Ethernet cable and a router and stuff like that. But it's connected to the fixed wireless so it's shit. I cant even play aussies

I wonder if they will eventually use the Netcomm wireless 5G units
still here waiting for NBN
same
Me too.
Feel your pain
Good news but time will tell. LNP still can't understand that they stuffed the NBN but don't admit it.
@DeYoRa 84Netflix has already peaked.

You are not alone :(
They are trialling upgrades from FTTN to FTTC and FTTP. Expected to go public July next year and is being trialed at 130 homes this year
@@appletree4433 I hope its not another case of it will be finished by 2016. We all know how that worked out.

Google Aussie BB Poi. Enter address and boom date. It’s NBNs internal date they have set for you. However mine changed 36 times over 5 years lol
Still no more info on these upgrades :(
What state do you live in, Pat? Hilton, SA?
