      I got the edge model with simultaneous translation in earbuds on Amazon Prime day. Price was 259. Could not pass it up at that price. Likely they will drop to under $200 with my luck.

    Another great video! We lived in Mérida for 6 months in 2022 and that’s when I discovered your channel ❤ It’s a magical place but yes very, very hot. But also incredibly safe and welcoming. We loved going to Progreso beach to cool down. Also, dinning on Paseo de Montejo is amazing. Really brought back some pleasant memories watching your video. Can’t wait to visit again. Keep up the excellent content.

      Aww, that's so sweet, thank you so much. Yes, we love Merida and if it was not because of the weather we would move there. Progreso is lovely but even more when there are not cruise ships because it can get crowded 🤭🤭.

      Progresso beach? Murky water water compared to playa del carmen. No bathrooms, no food options. Long industrial pier which is quite ugly. Don't waste your time at this "beach".

    Hi! In one of your videos you mentioned that Playacar Beach is open to public and can be accessed via Senor Frogs, but I was reading some reviews on google and people said they were chased away by hotel security from the beach because they didn't have a wristband.
    I'm planning my upcoming trip and your videos have been amazing, thank you!

    • @ForTheRoadTravels
      @ForTheRoadTravels  2 місяці тому

      Hola Carolina, thanks for watching and leaving your comment. That should be ilegal as beaches are federal property and fully accessible to be public. As long as the people are not using the hotel facilities such a beach chairs or umbrellas, no issue you should encounter. You must be excited for your trip. We hope our videos help. Good for You for not waiting until you retire to travel the world.👍👍
    Only 48 hours in Merida?! 😢
    There is so much to experience in Merida.
    Although I endured 21 days where the daytime temperatures did not drop below 104°f (the evenings are more pleasant), I was able to experience La Nocha Blanco, and the recent presidential election. Mexico's federal election was held on a sunday, yet the entire weekend the sale of alcohol was prohibited. 😢
    I'm returning for more first hand research.
    Enjoy your travels!

    Breakfast is 11.5 US and you say its cheaper than the tourist spots? Yikes. You have missed some of the larger eating spots for locals, like plaza de Santiago. There another one north of the cathedral too. It amazes me how they can eat heaps of turkey and pork and onions at 7AM. My delicate stomach can't handle much more than cocco puffs at that hour of the day LOL. So far I have not seen that immense market southeast of the cathedral. I mean its so large it would take 2 days to see everything. As I recall they even have a second floor. You need to do a video just on that MEGA indoor/outdoor market. Mercado San Benito is the name.

    Your man should have talked about green gold. It's quite interesting. Merida at one time was the WEALTHIEST city on the planet due to green gold. There is even speculation that the word gringo came from the locals trying to pronounce green gold.

      Well, if you were to say it in Spanish, it would be 'Comida Yucateca,' not 'Yucateco,' which is the demonym.
