You know how most people look forward to a weekly episode of a tv show. This series has turned into that for me. I recently moved to MIN and cant wait to take a trip (in much smaller scale) like this one. This content has inspired a introverted homebody. Thank you!
Mav is just a warm hearted being sharing his life in a way it helps some heal as they live their own lives. Mav is a comforting Band-Aid we swoon to like moths to a bright night light. I think it's safe to say we love Mav and would consider him a friend 😃
Great honor you did with folks Mav. Lost my Dad 1990 when I was 19. Lost My Mom in 2019. You did awesome Mav. Cherish these moments with your loved ones and your friends. In the words of another wise man. Hunker Down..
Over 2 million subscribers, Why? It is because this man knows how to make a great video. Full appreciation for making a high quality documentary of your travels. Not all of us can go on such adventures but is a special pleasure for us to be invited along.
It all really makes sense now. It's perfectly clear that your parents did an outstanding job at raising such an awesome young man. I can tell just from your interactions with them that your family is pretty similar to mine, many of my friends think it's wild that every time any of my immediate family members are saying bye to each other, in person or on the phone, every single time it includes "I love you". I would almost bet you guys do the same. It's really cool that you guys get to go on these trips like this and make memories as a family. Just keep on being yourself Mav, it's a guaranteed path to constant growth and success.
Fellow Minnesotan here. Discovered your channel last week through Andre "European Reacts". This video put a smile on my face. I did a very similar trip in 2007. Met my folks up in Anchorage. They spent several summers on the Kenai staying in an RV, doing a lot of fishing. Having my own car was great for little day trips. Got lucky and witnessed the Beluga whale migration. Had to be 150 of them! I did venture out on my own for a few weeks, did some whitewater rafting in Denali, glacier tour out of Valdez, took in one of Alaska's state fairs which is comparable to one of our county fairs. The ginormous vegetables from the Matsu Valley were unbelievable. And a demolition derby is always fun! Excited for you to go on more adventures.
Alaska, the final frontier. These are the voyages of Mav. His ongoing mission, to explore new worlds, to seek out new life and civilizations. To boldly go where few have gone.
I know you already know this, but what amazing memories you got to share with your parents. Im sure that is something you and they will cherish for the rest of your lives and it was awesome to see.
There are no words to describe how beautiful all of that is and what a blessing it must be for you to actually be there and thank you for sharing with us..just absolutely breath taking..Thank you Mav
I always get a little emotional watching these because my dad LOVED the outdoors, and i just didnt appreciate it as a child. My dad passed away in 2021, and all he wanted to do was see alaska and ireland before he passed. I pray i get the chance to take his ashes to at least one someday. What a great video.
21k views in just a matter of 53 minutes of posting, that in itself shows the hard work and dedication put into your channel. Tuned in all the way from hawaii🤙🏾. The thing that stands out about your channel to me is 1. You never build your video title up to attract people to watch, 2. The commentary is on point and very detailed especially when it comes to the cooking aspect & 3. The growth, hard work and continues effort you put into your videos. Your doing what a lot of people wish they could do and you do it with respect especially when it comes to taking care of the land/campsite. It’s what it’s all about. Don’t know you but happy you’ve accomplished what you have brother🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
The travel channel should give you your own show. Well done. Nice editing into a movie!! Loved it!! You take us places most of us would otherwise never see. Thank you!!
Bringing back LOTS of great memories for me. Rode my HD from St. Louis to Fairbanks and back SOLO in 2015. Did some fly fishing in Fairbanks. Trip of a lifetime!! Thanks for putting a smile on my face!!

Also, I can see how proud they are of you. Not only did you go out and follow a dream, you seem to have grown into a respectable young man and that's all any parent can ask for.

I so appreciated this video. I traveled this same route with a small group on a bus tour. We stayed overnight at Coldfoot. Then on to Prudhoe Bay where we ate in the dining room with the oil field workers. Great memories. Thanks for all your great videos.
What a fabulous travel video! Stayed up way past my bedtime to watch the whole thing. Loved that you shared part of your trip with your folks. Really love the way you always make it feel like an adventure.
Hey Mav! So I stumbled across your videos because you look a lot like an old friend of mine Ben. Realized you are from Minnesota which is where he’s from as well. Watched several of your videos including the Japan trip (which is such a dream come true btw). Made my way to this video and you literally call out Deer Creek at Watson Lake! That is exactly where Ben is from! It’s been several years since I’ve talked with Ben. But it was nice to see you highlight such a small town. I haven’t been back to Wadena since freshmen year in 2009. Brought me back to such a good time in my life! I really appreciate your videos man! Keep it up!
Mav you are truly an inspiration, I’ve watched you grow from 10K subscribers, it’s always a joy to watch a new video that comes up, how far you’ve came, and grown. I’m proud to be a fan of yours, much love from Saskatchewan, Canada.❤️
I've spent most of my life homeless and alcohol and drug addicted. I've traveled by train hitchhiked. The one thing I haven't done is sleep in a tent with a small wood burning stove. The one thing Mav has is, and I'd love to work on, is human temperance. Mav you may not have the best coman sense when it comes to friend's. You do have a great soul and temperance for life and lifes trials. If I could I'd hug Mav I love the man and who knows I don't have the best judgement when it comes to friend's as well. We all watch Mav sharing his heart and wish we could travel with him. Life is truly grand and hard. Thank you Mav I mean that my friend thank you for sharing your journeys with us :).

Just came across this video and I spent 10 days in Alaska with friends a few months ago and this makes me want to go back! Just a great state to visit, absolutely beautiful!
Been following along for the journey, but super cool to see the whole adventure tucked into movie! Thanks for letting us tag along Mav! Keep on truckin!

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of watching ur videos 😊❤️ you definitely convinced me to travel again, about to do a 7 hour drive to Palm Springs and Joshua tree this month for my birthday
If a hurricane or tornado formed in the sign post forest, don't think you'd have a chance. Thank you for taking us along on this journey, your a cool dude Mav!
In to the Wilding out! Nice, it reminds me of that movie....don't eat any strange berries brush! Peaceful travels! 17:29 passing the Sheraton Anchorage, where in the early 90's I remember a disgruntled employee of some air service stole a small plane (drunk, of course) and circled the 4th story of that hotel for a couple minutes, landing and getting arrested. 26:40 is an amanita muscaria.

Very much loved this whole series. A few standouts for me (and I don't know yet if they were all included in this compilation), the friendly people at that bar at the very beginning, the roadkill bird, meeting the dude who was walking with a cart, cooking for Steve Wallis, RVing with the parents. Special mention of flying to Barrow for that silly grocery errand. lol
Hey there Mav, you truly are such an inspiration to many, many people. Be safe on your travels young man..and all the best for the upcoming festive season, love UGP ❤
Woo hoo!!!! Been waiting for my day off to watch this!!!! So stoked!!!!! Lights turned off, popcorn to munch on, big screen tv with stereo speaker turned up on blast and my dog sleeping in my lap. This is more exciting than a block buster movie at a theater...hands down. Much cheaper too!
Really cool you got to include the parents... This is a trip I want to have with my girls (19-22 & 29 yo) as my dad was stationed in Alaska and used to talk about it all the time. I've only gotten to Anchorage and that was a 2 hour layover to Korea when I was in the Army back in 1987.

This best trip yet, your on the Homer spit, not split but it's a beautiful place, use to be only tent and car camping on the spit but that was 65 lol and 2 bars and small snack shop. Homer is a wonderful place to fish and not far from razor clam digging. So glad your parents met you in Anchorage it's more fun to share with family
I worked on the slope two summers ago. That store is basically just for the workers to go Nay nays (NA beer) and candy and maybe clothes or tools lol. Not shit to do up there but go to the Aurora and look at the baristas lol

Yippee something good to watch tonight! 💞 Thanks, Mav! That was fun! I enjoyed every minute! Did you make it back home for Thanksgiving? Looking forward to your next adventure! ☺️
A Hot, steamy pizza + a tv in the back of the truck would be perfect for a nice camping movie night. Sitting on the road side, over a nice scenery with a beautiful sunset and a home alone movie goes unmatched.
Yesss so excited to watch this! Awesome job Mav it’s amazing how much you progress shows through your work. Stay safe and keep up the good work man! ❤🔥🙏
Hats off to Mav eating the downer ptarmigan! I found a fat buck rabbit one time on a cold December day, still hot. There were eighteen new Mercedes parked on the lawn of a three million dollar house there. A rich kids party that killed a poor wittle wabbit. I drove my Dodge dart with no floor back to Smokeville and fried it up for dinner. I can relate.
I love how you work in silence then just BAM! Lay it in us. Oh my god. I can’t even I’m so excited. I’m all honestly I’m going to wait to watch til I’m off work cause I work 12 hour shifts the next 3 days! My dream is to give my mom a secure home/land with a pool. My channel is doing good and you have inspired me a lot. I hope I can make my dream come true 😊

I can’t wait to start my business and finally get my overland vehicle and have the time and money to start posting videos like this and traveling to these places. You’re a huge inspiration so thank you for the amazing content! Keep on trucking!!

It’s always a pleasure watching your videos.
I lived in Brooklyn Park for 7 yrs and in Champlain for 15 years! I just moved back to my home Town (Albert Lea, MN) 5 years ago and Retired.
Used to shop in Blaine alot!!!!
Yippee something good to watch tonight! 💞
Thanks, Mav! That was fun! I enjoyed every minute! Did you make it back home for Thanksgiving? Looking forward to your next adventure! ☺️
What an amazing trip! My girl and I are thinking about trying out the road life for a little bit, and I'd love to be doing it like you!
A Hot, steamy pizza + a tv in the back of the truck would be perfect for a nice camping movie night. Sitting on the road side, over a nice scenery with a beautiful sunset and a home alone movie goes unmatched.
I drove the Alcan Hwy in October 1973 from Oregon to Ancharage Alaska. Thank yo for bringing back some memories!!!
Yesss so excited to watch this! Awesome job Mav it’s amazing how much you progress shows through your work. Stay safe and keep up the good work man! ❤🔥🙏
Good way to watch the whole adventure. I’d love to do the trip one day. Thx for sharing. Watching from Ontario Canada 🎉
Love this. Mav you have come so far. Been watching since the beginning. Thank you for Sunday night with Mav. Love the comments.
This was an amazing first movie bud!!! Can't wait to see everything you accomplish.

As a fellow Duluth man like Mav. I totally enjoy everything you got to do in Alas. It's been a dream of mine to go there. But just watching Mav just enjoy the journey was pretty emotional for me. Especially with his Parents..that was something he will always cherish. Anyhow when u get time back in The best city in the world..for those that don't know. It's Duluth.. HMU Mav and we can go out and fish and bs bout ur trip.
90 mins of Mav, nice one keep on truckin !
29:36 - Wow. I can't tell if that's some crazy color grading, or if it really looked that gorgeous.
