I did it yesterday for the first time and it puffed. Even if I used whole wheat flour. In the past I tried other recipes and it didn't work. The secret indeed is the low heat.

I tried this when my mom wasn't at home and after half a hour later kitchen was a mess and I was still hungry. It's not as easy as it looks. My mom says it right, Cooking really is a skill and needs lot of practice and patience.

It will not taste like roti or paratha bcos it is not paratha!. Inside of this paratha is always wet and tastes like uncooked roti bcos of high water content.

Recipe is similar to wheat dosa, I guess if fry it for long enough then it looks like poori or paratha.
How a dosa turns into chapati.. it's fake.you can try . I have prepared wheat dosas so many times they never become roti this way
