Take tumeric as well bro it's amazing
Ok. So I see this is from 2014! It’s now 2022.
I searched far and wide on UA-cam for practical clear ways to fix my guitar playing pain issues. I watched other ad filled nonsense AND long disguised ads that tricked me into watching.
BUT, YOUR’S IS THE BEST ADVICE I HAVE FOUND. Folks, forget it’s old and has simple production.
THE INFO NICELY DONE. I might watch every day for months to come.
Please add ads. You should receive royalties for this. It’s the best I’ve found.
Hi Curt, I'm glad my video helped you. I assume you are talking about other people's videos when you say, "I watched ad filled nonsense AND long disguised ads that tricked me into watching..." I wasn't quite sure the first time I read it. That said, my videos are monetized with UA-cam, but they only get me about a tank of gas worth of revenue month. That's why I added the "BuyMeACoffee" link in the description, but I don't think most people see it. At this point I'm just thrilled my videos for every joint in the body are still helping people. UA-cam's algorithm really prioritizes new content, so folks have to dig these days. Probably TMI for you! Sorry.
Thanks again for the kind words.
All the best,
Gary C.
@@garycrowley1 - I edited my comment to make it more clearer that I found your video to be far more helpful and concise than the sea of videos out there addressing guitar playing elbow pains. Grateful for your insights. You would do well to enable ads before and/or during your video. It’s worthy of more income for the insights and expertise. Thanks so much.
I'm crying with happiness right now. I was worried I would never be able to play without enduring pain. Thank you Mr. Crowley.
That's great to hear, my friend. You are very welcome.

I tried many things to get rid of my pain with no hope but only this worked. Very well explained, it makes so much sense. Thanks a lot for sharing this information.
Hi Fabio,
I'm glad to hear the techniques helped you. You are very welcome.
And thanks for commenting.
All the best,
Gary C.
THANK YOU GARY! I am a performing guitarist and singer. My right arm (used for pretty aggressive sometimes high energy strumming and finger picking on amplified acoustic guitar) was really hurting bad to the point where I had to stop playing to let it subside, I think due to tendonitis (self diagnosed). I used a ton of Salonpas.
I did what you showed in video #1 and almost immediately (!) the pain and stiffness vanished. Miracle! Thank you again, you made a huge difference in my life!
This information is absolutely priceless.Thank you so much for this Gary. You are a very good man.
Thanks Gary too, I picked up an injury last week from playing Allan Holdsworth chords grrr.
A VERY good man. Thank's Gary. My next few decades of playing are dedicated partially to you.
This was a fantastic video that has really made a world of difference for me. Thank you. I cannot recommend this video enough.
Hey Ron, Glad to hear it helped. Great job by you!
Best,
Gary C.
this video really teaches you to view your body as a machine that you can maintain and fix rather than just some mysterious blob that just works or not as the case may be.
Thanks for your videos. I get tennis elbow and ulnar wrist pain every now and then. I manage to fix them with stretches and exercises, but they return after a while of not exercising my forearm. Your videos give me alternative ways of dealing with these pains.
This is amazing!!! Thank you so much! You just saved my life
This actually works thankyou been suffering this recently.
Great exercises. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this. pretty amazing finding
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video! I thought that I was going to need surgery or something drastic, but just figured out it was from playing guitar and found your video. You rock, man!

Thank you so much Gary! My fret hand was in pain and useless and now I can actually type after this video.
Awesome! Glad to hear it.
I am a drummer/horn player, and tendinitis has really limited my right hand use for several years (I am left handed). This is my last hope, rest hasn't helped much. I tried doing this and it's still sore, but I am able to move finally! Thanks!
Provided me with pretty instant relieve - will continue with the pressure techniques and stretches. Thanks Gary!
Great! Glad to hear it. You are very welcome.
All the best,
Gary C.
Thank you so much for sharing this!
This method really works!! I can´t stress enough on how this helped me. My palmaris longus tendon (fretting hand) hurted a lot from too many hours practicing without taking breaks in between. I was a little skeptical at first, specially because I was afraid that doing this would cause more damage, but I gave it a shot, relaxing one muscle of my forearm at a time, and it really worked! I feel much better now, and hope to be able to play again very soon.
Gary, you're a life saver and I will be forever grateful.
Same here. I thought I would have to give up the guitar. This saved me.
Mr. Crowley, thank you very much for putting your time in doing these videos! My hands, wrists and fingers were really bothering me for a couple of months now and these exercises helped a lot!
That's great to hear! Thank you for commenting.
It helps others know this actually works.

I've played basses for over 25 years and have never had any issues, then a few months ago I've made the transition to guitar and boom! bloody tennis elbow! Am actually suffering some anxiety as a result as I really do NOT want to have to give up playing guitar now because of the pain. Thanks for these videos!
Thank you for sharing. Been playing a lot of guitar lately after a long hiatus. Woke up with tendonitis symptoms. After only a few minutes of your exercises things cleared things up. Awesome :)

Thank you so much Gary! I have been struggling for years with this problem. For me it originated from playing drums and has since made all my instrument playing very difficult, but these techniques kicked the pain almost immediately, I didn't have to sit with it for 15 minutes, thank you again for giving this extremely helpful advice, cheers!

You are amazing, thank you so much!!! Even just knowing this is possible, it already kinda totally changes the mental game of trying to stay healthy. Ahhh, also, just came back to edit my comment now, because I just glanced at your other videos, and I recognize the hip ones - your suggestions helped me a ton with my hips and lower back a few years ago..! I treat them myself now regularly and hardly ever have big episodes of lower back pain any more. It has been years now..! Thank you so much. I work overseas in places with almost no doctors for this kind of ongoing stuff, and I can’t tell you how grateful I am to be able to learn this approach and try things on my own. It gives a person peace of mind!
You are very welcome. I'm thrilled my videos have helped you so much. Keep up the good work!

Great to hear. I love helping to keep the music playing!
All the best,

Great video! These are great myofascial release techniques that can be used on any part of the body. If your muscles are really tight then you can combine the push-pull-release with a lengthening of the muscle, ie. you’re pushing the fascia in the lengthening direction of the muscle while actively stretching the muscle by contracting the antagonistic muscles (the muscles working in the opposite direction of the tight muscle), this forces your tight muscle to relax while you’re lengthening the fascia surrounding the muscle. This isn’t a quick fix however since fascia is much slower to relax than muscles are, which is a good thing since the role of fascia is to create stability, but annoying when it becomes overly tight, but if you do it repeatedly you will most likely see improvement unless the cause of tightness is something other than keeping the arm static for too long while playing guitar. If you want to learn more techniques for releasing tight muscles, I suggest searching for videos on pin-and-stretch, MET (Muscle energy technique) & myofascial mobilization.
Thank you so much for this!
Gary, I would like to express my deepest gratitude. Your physiological wisdom has almost instantly resurrected my arms.
Thank you so much! I am forever grateful

I’ve been struggling with strum arm pain for weeks. Wow. Immediate relief. I suspect this will take more work but a lot of persistent pain relieved immediately.
Hey Howard, Glad to hear it helped. Yep, just keep at it and things should get better and better as you go. Great job by you!
All the best,

Absolutely lifesaving. I am a very serious guitar player who started to develop pain in my picking wrist. I was terrified at the idea of having to stop playing for a year like so many people have had to do. For me, the forearm muscles that released the pain were on the side of my forearm on the thumb side. So make sure to try that if the muscles in the center aren’t releasing pain
Heyy, how's you going today?
You sir deserve a golden throne in valhala or something.... my good friend thank you so much, i'm dealing with a really annoying pain (muscular overload) below my thumb and in therapy they never really dig into my forearm muscles and the pain was still there. And i haven't play in a couple weeks to prevent further injury but with your videos i really dug into those muscles and use my thumb in circular way reeaaaallly deep in the forearm really help me THANK YOU
Great, great! A "throne in Valhala".....I'll take it. Thanks! haha
All the best,
Gary C.
This is great info! thank you for sharing.
You are quite welcome. I'm glad it helped.
All the best,

I have had a problem with pain in my little finger (sometimes set off when using my ring finger) for about a month and was resigned to a lengthy rest period before picking up the guitar again. I tried the press, hold, and move technique on the tender area on the side of my little finger last night, along with some press, pull, and release on the top, and just a few hours later I could make a fist with no pain in my little finger. It isn't completely cured yet and I'm thinking that taking a break from guitar for a week or two will still be a good idea but I have already noticed significantly less pain when fretting/bending with my pinky and no pain at all when fretting and bending with my ring finger. Thanks very much Gary - I really appreciate you taking the time to make this video (and the others on your site)
That's awesome, and folks like you are exactly why I built my "free to the world" pain relief website. Keep up the good work and you'll be able to play as much as you'd like.

Hi. Passing by to say thank you.
My forearms were tight as bark and I couldn't do open-palm pushups for the longest time. Your principles and way of dealing with the body have improved, not just my wrists and arms, but my whole life greatly. Yesterday, after working on my forearm and hand muscles for many days, I was able to do 30 open palm pushups.
Thank you so much.
You are very welcome. Yes, you get it, the principles apply to your whole body. It's very empowering to be able to fix yourself. I'm glad you gave the videos a try. And thanks for the coffee! ☕️

How has it helped a year later?
How about now?

Oh man, thank you very much! I did many types of streches and exercises, but they didn't work. And this helped me a lot. I think I should consult a doctor anyway, because I have a slight numbness in my little finger and it scares me, but the wrist pain is gone
Great. Glad to hear it. Your little finger could still be from tight tissue. Your C8 (eighth cranial nerve) from your lower neck, upper back area could be causing the numbness. Keep up the good work!
