Oh, comedy ain't no joke. It is serious business. It is the spoonful of sugar that helps the medicine go down. Comedians help people think about the unthinkable, and talk about the unspeakable, and see things inside of themselves, in the culture, and the world at large that are difficult to want to look at. Comedians are the social commentators that get a pass to say things that the average person does not know how to bring up and has no platform to do so.
A Comedian’s primary goal is to make US (ALL of us) laugh , especially at ourselves . That’s where the skill comes in . You can make a rape joke … it’s just difficult to get rape victim to laugh (not impossible ) As Dave put it in one of his stand ups “ I get paid for the attempt (of a joke) “

He said he was "team TERF" in the special in a written comedy routine. Is your premise that every detail of a comic's act is personal disclosure? Dave has also had bits where he said he "fucks feet." Is that part of the routine or personal truth? He's said in his mother specials that he made out with a trans woman. Personal disclosure or part of a written comedy routine? It's dishonest to pull a quote and assume it is a true detail from a personal experience. Or it's pure ignorance of how some creative arts are conceived. Louis CK has a bit about a guy complaining on an airplane. In an interview he said it was really him complaining, but the joke worked better saying it was someone else. comedians shape their work for impact, for laughs. Racist isn't a sexual preference. It's called obligation.. I have gay and trans friends and family. They know how I feel on the subject. It's about respect and understanding. Even my best friend jumped on the bandwagon without even watching it. Like yo.. you're smarter than that... but feelings somehow override facts.. do I believe trans women are real women.. no.. but do I respect their right to be who they are... yes.. some women can't have kids or periods. But they still are women. Body make up genes all that.. A trans female can't biologically bare children. That's the difference. Like when a trans man has a child.. no the biology of that person is still female and has the ability to bare children. No where in nature is it the other way. It's either you reproduce asexually or in some species some will change sex for reproduction. But there's ALWAYS an opposite. And that's what's being canceled. Science and facts to make one group of people comfortable. But blacks still struggle , our protest get overlooked when a few assholes corrupt the message. @@mpiugdtyhgffijfcxp3613 cis is a differentiator of the human experience, so it is relevant. One queen was telling a story/experience of another local queen and was abruptly interrupted by the other queen when she asked if this person in the story was cis or not. The queen telling the story asked why it mattered. The other cohost queen, being trans, said it matters to the extent that it differentiates different human lived experiences. In that moment, I went from hating the word that I thought was made up to attack people like me, to understanding the why it matters in context. I was born male and I live as male, therefor I’m cis.
The problem with the "gay community" is that it doesn't think that it's a reflection of the larger community, in that, in its pursuit to not be victimized, doesn't think that it has racist and prejudicial "blind spots" as well. Ergo, when you call it out on being just as racist and prejudicial as the greater society, it feigns victimhood, but has no problem using methods that only those who have social privilege would employ. That's why, for now, any gay person of color, who are defending the backlash against Dave Chappelle, are THE definition of being sellouts to corporate interests, which is influenced by gay interests and the "woke" progressives.

Look at any major media outlet, it's how they make their living. As far as both sides not listening to each other, I'm afraid that's happened since the beginning of time and likely it won't end until we're extinct. Especially nowadays again with social media. The protestors said “Larry Kramer” not Erik Kramer. Google both names. It makes more sense for it to be Larry Kramer who was a Gay rights activist, than former NFL player Erik Kramer...no NFL player was openly gay like that in the 90s..not ever to the point where they’d want to do interviews on TV.
I never seen anyone demand Kramer be cancelled for calling black audience members the N word. George Lopez wasn't cancelled for disrespected a black woman in his audience.
It's important to note that Chapelle emphasized that this fight wasn't between him and homosexuals. It was between him and corporate media and what he was allowed to say.

Like when a trans man has a child.. no the biology of that person is still female and has the ability to bare children. No where in nature is it the other way. It's either you reproduce asexually or in some species some will change sex for reproduction. But there's ALWAYS an opposite. And that's what's being canceled. One queen was telling a story/experience of another local queen and was abruptly interrupted by the other queen when she asked if this person in the story was cis or not. The queen telling the story asked why it mattered. The other cohost queen, being trans, said it matters to the extent that it differentiates different human lived experiences. The problem with the "gay community" is that it doesn't think that it's a reflection of the larger community, in that, in its pursuit to not be victimized, doesn't think that it has racist and prejudicial "blind spots" as well. Dave chappelle and arsenio hall are two real brotha in hollywood 💪🏿
👁️YES INDEED AND THANK YOU🏆🏆🏆
I remember watching that episode when I was a kid and don't blame Arsenio one bit. He said what he said, if they wanted those types of guests ger their own platform.
I remember seeing that episode in real time.
They was quick to bash and shame the ladies at that spa , where a dude claimed he was trans to get into the female side. Yet when reports came out he a sexual defiant who been exposing himself among other things to kids....
Crickets
Thank you. This was an excellent breakdown of the incident and the issue.
Excellent reporting! I too agree with Chappelle, Pryor and Hall! Well done!
How do you defend a community that attacks a person from their own community. What they did to Daphne (Dave's friend that defended him) is wrong! Until they stop attacking people from their own community it's really hard to stand by them. People that don't agree to any type of bullying need to step up...
Exactly! I'm trans, and I've been cyberbullied by these trans activists.
Pure fascism and I'll guarantee they support Antifa
similar thing happened to me. even tried to have this conversation with my friend who came out as trans. he didn't want to hear it and said daphne was wrong.
these types of people (so called transactivists) don't wanna have conversations about nuiainces and shades of gray. you are either with them 100% or against them 100%. there is no middle ground.
after that, i just stopped talking about it at all, because i felt like no one wanted to listen to my opinion on the matter.
I’ll never forget when this happening back in the 90s. 💯👀💅🏾
This was classic, I remember this
Much respect to hall.
You get no props shaming people, just as you do not fight hate without talking.
Always liked Arsenio, there’s a man who stands his ground, just like Dave Chapelle.
YOOOO thanks I was ova here scratching my head like i don't rememba any outward gay football players in da 90s lol
@@daminharris3879 trust me I was doing the same thing...I was like nah, that can’t be right. And it wasn’t.
I was about to say, there was no gay NFL player in the 90s
@@marc07112 you mean, no known gay players.
@@marc07112 there were. They just didn’t talk about it.
I noticed, they never did this to Johnny Carson or Merv Griffith show. Just Black heterosexual male entertainers.
I never seen anyone demand Kramer be cancelled for calling black audience members the N word. George Lopez wasn't cancelled for disrespected a black woman in his audience.
This was EXCELLENTLY done. Bravo for this Sis…
Stand your ground like Colin Keapernick. The hypocrisy must be called out.
Great compilation. Thank you for the facts.
Well done video. Agree 100% with Aresino, Dave, Richard and George and many more.
It's important to note that Chapelle emphasized that this fight wasn't between him and homosexuals. It was between him and corporate media and what he was allowed to say.
Yeah, but you’re smarter than that, right? Corporate isn’t telling him anything; corporate is bowing down to pressure from the community, and Dave knows that. You get that.
Cuz in your mind terfs only fight against mainstream media not trans people?
Because endangering lives to make a personal point justifies your circular driveway? Nah.
@@NightmansSexyHands So why is Dave lying?
@@ColaSpandex If that’s something you can’t figure out on your own, then I can’t help you. People need to come to these conclusions in their own time and then we can work towards truth and freedom.
It's just like history repeating itself, but the ones who should learn from this DON'T. Almost like AMERICAN history....
United States of amnesia!!!!!
Whose story?
American History, all of it...
Growing up in the nineties i was a big fun Arsenio Hall ,I clearly remember that particular show . He did handle it in those days pretty well.
My question is never seen anyone questioning Leno, Letterman or Carson the same illogical unfair question they asked Arsenio in those days ? Something really is messed up and fishy. Smh
Exactly!! Great job on this issue!!
What it basically boils down to is people want you to accept their lifestyles. The truth is individuals don't have to because gays don't accept everybody's lifestyles. They have prejudices too. This I know because I've lived and worked around them. We don't have to accept everyone's way of life but we should treat every human being with dignity and respect.
Difficult when factoring in extreme religion
LGBT is no different in comedy, straights gets talk about and we laugh and enjoy comedy so why LGBT can't do the same🤔
Because its not about rights its about ideology.
This. Dave made jokes about whites, Latinos, bisexuals, and women in their 30s, and I'm not crying about it.
@@Peh-heeeeeggy-Hill Right, comedian talks about every detail of life everything! I miss the the old days when you can go out and enjoy laughter and people 😉
Every now and then, your platform does something well... Well done on this.
I agree
Great job!! 💯This was great
I'm proud as hell to support all the comedic geniuses who stand up for free fucking speech and don't back down from the PC police!
It's about control. The gay community has a caste system too and they wanna gatekeep as much as they can, certain folks making the noise that is, ain't nobody in our family tho. I wish that would be clearer in these news breaks
How could 'anyone' have anything negative to say about the absolute 'gem' in this world that is Arsenio Hall ?
Aw, hhhell no! Arsenio, definitely one of my favorite people. Anyone coming at AH wrong, will be looked at with disdain, they will be hated and loathed. People who are already barely tolerated, and hated by many, are just shooting themselves in the foot when they go after the beloved Arsenio Hall and Dave. What the hell could they be thinking. That's ridiculous!
And btw, girl in this video, you are very very pretty !
I'm subscribed now, cuz i Luv comedy, it's really one of the best things in the world.
Funniest part is Pryor was privately Bi and they were mad at him. Kinda like they were mad at Tyler The Creator's lyrics before he came out. Really makes you think.
hmmm good observation
Why was Pryor bisexual to you?
@@ditocerto All blacks are gay or bi in Hollywood. Let some tell it.
@@EmotionsRTemporary Not all but Pryor was. His wife confirmed the affair and has the receipts of his affair with Marlon Brando.
@@ditocerto Richard Pryor's widowed wife and Quincy Jones talked about how he had a relationship with Marlon Brando. I normally wouldn't trust gossip but it was his wife and a close friend.
I stand behind the comedians.
I wish we had tough people again. This young girl I work with just told me a story about how she was having severe stomach pains for 8 months. She dealt with it because of the anxiety she was having thinking about having to sit in front of the receptionist and answer questions to someone face to face. Young people today are eggshells!
10 years from now, we will look back at years 19,20,21 and realize how many mistakes we made as humans.
...as if we didn't know this was a big ol' psy-op.
Thank you for saying it...cuz no one else is 😶
What's a psy-op?
My thoughts exactly.
@@serious7179 A psychological operation. Things like these are propaganda campaigns put out in order to manipulate public perception by presenting a certain opinion as reality, despite being an perception/opinion only held by a small portion of the world (usually rich white people). It works very well today because a single rich person could own multiple news channels and always present his opinion as reality to multiple different demographics
@@isafarooq1721 ah ..thanks for the explanation!
They need to clown the fact that weird movement has a CEO 😂🤣😭
An absolutely beautiful moment in television history. Arsenio is a legend.
BLK PPL NEED TO STOP PLAYING THIS ALPHABET GAME AND LEAVE IT WITH EUROPEANS TO BABBLE ABOUT. IT DOES NOTHING FOR BLK PEOPLE EXCEPT DERAIL REPARATIONS AND OTHER MAJOR BLK ISSUES... NO OTHER RACIAL GROUP ENTERTAINS THIS SIDE SHOW AGENDA.
@@Facts-Over-Feelings You are forgetting that there is a HUGE population of lgbtq that are black. They are called "BLM" (aka black lives matter) The 3 co-founders of BLM are all lesbian women. They screwed over your own people so you can't blame the "alphabet game" on white people because YOU let them in and supported them when you wore a BLM shirt.
Great commentary on history repeating itself. Thanks
Arsenio always been a real one. Too real for American late night. They'd rather have Seth Myers and Jimmy Kimmel. 🙄
And colbert... All paid propagandists
@@j.s.3297 And Fallon. All propagandists and all white.
Yeah... you want real late night now you gotta go to HBO and watch Maher who completely agrees with these three comedians, and really is one himself. Also from a past generation, go figure.
Thank you for your approach in this video. Telling things the way they are, and showing some amazing comedians calling out issues. It's so easy to be a victim. It's hard to see the victim in others.
The Pryor incident is epic. Watch the actual clip. If not by itself, it's in a documentary
Great commentary on this topic 👍‼️
Great video! Wonderful job!
