I love these IF videos. Please don’t listen to the people who criticize you sharing your experience and success with this. It has helped me tremendously. Everyone likes different content. I tend to gravitate more to these and your fashion videos, as opposed to your chic assignment videos. But goodness, we all like different things! Have a great day!
I’m the same! Love the food, fashion, and home cleaning videos. I usually skip or speed watch the interviews and chic assignments! I think I’m opposed to the word assignment tbh after a brutal years of school that I’m still recovering from
I would love to see how you made the coconut tea cake. I'm always looking for teatime recipes which are also filling. Maybe a teatime recipe video would be fantastic!! I loved the wholewheat coconut blueberry muffins . So good for the freezer!
I just started IMF again! I have a one year old so this has been such good inspiration. Isn’t it amazing how intermittent fasting helps develop self control and discipline that translate to other parts of our life. I have found that It has helped me be more in control of my feelings. I am more likely to react in a patient, loving way to my baby when he cries. If we want our children to learn to have good discipline and self control of our bodies and emotions we have to model it first!!
I can't lose any weight with your food or your 16:8 schedule, but I still feel inspired to listen to what my body will respond to rather than whine about it anymore. I have recommitted to OMAD and Keto for this season of life. It doesn't feel fair, but it is what it is! Onward and upward!
Thank you, Jennifer. I do love these videos. I particularly like that you eat real foods on IF. It makes the whole process seem doable for anyone who is interested. My favorite part is tea time!
I love watching your videos to remind me to slow down and just enjoy the simple pleasures. I take care of my very elderly father, who lives on his own, so much of my life is spent running to his house to cook/clean/help. Therefore, I cook large portions in the morning so my family has meals during the day and then we have leftovers for another day or for freezing. I 'shop my fridge and pantry and freezer' to clean them out, cut down on waste and cut trips to the grocery store. This necessitates creativity in my cooking and keeps us eating healthy, like you do. Thank you for inspiring me to try intermittent fasting!
This is a low-calorie diet but is probably right for a home-schooling mother. A mother having to do a school run with four kids, probably at different schools, who might not have a car and have to run for buses, and then go to work full time outside the home, in a job like teaching or nursing, would need a higher energy intake.
Love these videos!! Inspiring to see how beautiful, simple, and joyous your meals are. Reminds me of our trip to France. IF is such a blessing. By practicing discipline in two areas (eating window and no snacking) I get to enjoy scrumptious food to the fullest. I didn’t have much weight to loose. But IF’s made eating a true pleasure again for the first time since I had my sweet twins. ❤️ Many thanks!!
Thank you, Jennifer! I like your daughter’s thinking about fried apples; I remember our Rachel copying Addy’s fried apples recipe from an American Girl book when she was 7 and still have the recipe card. ☺️ Have a great day, Julie 🌷
Loved it as usual, in feeling so burned out on cooking and coming up with dinner ideas that most of family members will enjoy! It seems so hard to please everyone 🤣
Jennifer, a favorite treat you might like for tea time is strawberries dipped in sour cream and then dipped in brown sugar. Trust me. It’s so delicious.
Your food looks delicious. I've been on IF clean since May 1 and I've lost 7 pounds. I've progressed from 16:8 to about an 18:6 window. It seems that is where my body wants to go. Thank you so much for your inspiration. I've been on the yo-yo diet train for decades and I feel I'm finally free. I can't thank you enough for this content.
Jennifer I love the WIEIAD content. My question is do you feel like you are always cooking and cleaning up? We are at home so much more these past 2 years, which has been good. But I feel like I’m in this never ending cycle of being stuck in the kitchen! I love cooking but I’m getting burnt out.
Hi Chelsey, Yes, I do! I added a few lunch trays throughout the week to lighten the burden. I would call in help or have family members take over a meal/ clean-up per day...
Hi Jennifer, thank you for posting this. You, Angela Braniff, and Jen Fulwiler convinced me to start IF because the three of you look like you have your college figures back! Other diets seem to help with weight loss, but not take you all the way back to your ideal weight (just my opinion). Anyway, I’ve done it for two months now and am down 11+ pounds, have a lot more energy, and my anxiety is gone (how is that possible??). Keep up the great videos.
Your a very blessed calm person. I like that your level headed about things, your not extreme in your diet. It’s something I can do without feeling deprived.
Always enjoy these videos, Jennifer! Everything looks delicious! Good for your daughter for making the fried apples 🍎 YUM! I did a video a little while ago cooking a recipe from the “Little House Cookbook”- Fried Apples and Onions which was Almanzo’s favourite!
I would love to see a garden tour of all your plants. Do you prune your flowers and make bouquets? Growing any vegetables? Tips on how to enjoy eating outside. Pest control? (Flies, gnats, bees, wasps) Nice video as always. Thanks for sharing.
IF is not for me…❤️but I love all of your food videos ‼️ You have such a healthy perspective on food which is extremely refreshing in our land of food-stress, which has become tiresome. Love your meals and recipes…thanks ❣️❤️‼️
I have been loving all of your IF videos. You really are an inspiration. I am sorry to hear that you have received criticism in any way, because everything about what you have shared in your videos seems reasonable and not at all unusual to me. I do have one question about your meals and tea times, which always looks so peaceful. I am also a working homeschooling introverted mother and I’m just wondering how are you are able to carve out time in the day for peaceful solo meals.
I very much appreciate how you don't have the camera pointed at your face when you're eating- it's really not pleasant watching people eat! Food looks delicious. At the age of 61, I also do IF and find it a convenient and healthy lifestyle. Thank you for promoting it.
I appreciate you sharing these videos because it reminds me to portion my meals appropriately. Thanks for the encouragement and the time you take to create these quality videos.
Love these videos. I found the comments you made about having to adjust your times especially helpful as this is me on most days. Instead of being so rigid and giving up, I think I just need to take each day and it’s mealtimes and time frames as they come and then quit eating after the last one.
Personally looking at the amount of food you eat, I don't think anyone will gain weight on that, even without the intermittent fasting. Now am not saying it's too little, obviously it depends on your activity level. But you are definitely not over eating. The intermittent fasting probably just helps manage your hunger and energy levels. I think most people will lose weight on your diet. In my parents' home, we subconsciously intermittent fasted for many years without knowing. We are not breakfast people so we generally eat late breakfast or lunch and early dinners. We never snack coz our parents never snacked, so it's just not a habit we learned.
I think the dishes has a lot of calories for staying slim. I believe it is about small portions and eating early that helps, as well as very light breakfast
I love seeing your videos and What I Eat in a Day. I've managed to move my breakfast to 7:30 from 5:30 . I am unable to wait longer because of my schedule. The earliest we can have supper is 5:30 pm, Do you think this is a good enough window? I don't believe I can go until noon to eat my first meal of the day.
Thanks for sharing, i started intermittent fasting as a routine to have more time with my girls and be done with most of my day by 5 closing the kitchen and i lost weight without dieting also, i struggle with my weight for years after getting married to not pas a certain number now i encourage everyone to try time frame is huge and active level plays a huge part also.
You're several inches taller than I am which may explain why you can eat dessert every afternoon and *lose* weight! Well, and I'm also in my early 70s, so go figure. 🙄 Your meals look lovely; thank you for sharing them.
Dear Jennifer: I have watched many of your videos and they really hit home. Since you love reading, I would like to recommend reading the Quran as everything you have mentioned and learned through out your life is included in it, and much more.
Looks very delicious, but i am wondering if you hit the minimum 25 g of recommended daily fiber intake? I make sure to hit this fiber recommendation (i even aim for 30-40g) because it is so important for overall health, but i need to eat quite high quantities of fruit, veg, legumes and whole grains.
Thank you, love your content! I've done IF for 2.5 yrs as well and love it! I need to improve my meals during my window, and reduce portion sizes, your examples help!
Thank you Jennifer!! These videos are so helpful and inspiring!! I'm so excited that you don't "count macros or calories" or any of that. This seems logical and normal...and quite frankly - wonderful! I've just recently started on my IF journey and trying to figure out a daily schedule. I'm so excited that you even have tea time!!! (trying to control my giddiness here!! yay!!).
Even as a teen who loved bread I’ve never been big on buns unless they are some amazing brioche or ciabatta or fancy bread. I just found the bread took away some of the taste of the burger, so I’ve eat mine like you did here. Usually a ton of veggies and maybe a bit of homemade ranch (instead of ketchup/mustard/etc).
This just reminds me that I should stop snacking so late because we eat dinner before 5 pm and IF should be doable if id stop stuffing things into my mouth, The batch and freeze waffles is a fantastic idea and I. Excited to try that. Sundays are always waffle or pancake brunch day and end up with too much leftover,
You look fantastic! I am noticing weight gain in my 50's and I would love to try this. Do you have advice for first timers? I will watch some of your other videos to see if I can more info on this.
The food looks delicious! Did you ever figure out how to stop your weight loss? I remember it had been an issue. I wasn't sure if you'd increase meal sizes or add in an extra meal.
Your meals look lovely. It’s amazing you can lose weight/maintain weight loss eating this way. If I ate that much, I’d be back over 200 pounds. Years of yo-yo dieting have killed my metabolism.
I really enjoyed this video. I also do the 16:8 method and love how I feel now. What time of day is your tea time? Do your kids also have tea time with you?
Does your family eat at the same time you do within the eight hour window or do you not eat as a family for dinner? Just curious how you make this work with children and a husband. Thanks!
Good tips. We lived in a house with cathedral ceilings, we would take rolled up socks and throw them into the corners that's how we got rid of the cobwebs . Enter me in the giveaway.Thank you.
So you do your eating window between 9:00 and 5:00.... And I know you said the following day you had a cup of coffee at 6:00 a.m. you would have had to have drank it black correct? Because I love coffee but when you're having it during a fast you can only drink it black because putting milk or cream and it breaks a fast?
It really helps to use a smaller plate! My family uses smaller plates now and we have leftovers way more often than we did before…while still feeling the same satisfaction after each meal. It’s been a real eye-opener! There was a short transition time while getting used to a smaller portion, but after a couple of weeks the adjustment was complete.
I suspect that it is habit. I know that when we bought a new dinner set out portion size went up and we put on weight. I'm finding it much harder to get used to smaller portions, but was perfectly happy with them before (and have moved back to smaller plates).
Yes. As an English person I do find that the American diet has a lot more sugar. For example ; It would be seem odd to add sugar to sweet potato here. Our bread is less sweet and we rarely add sugar to salad dressings. In fact , it is quite unusual to put savoury food e.g. bacon , with fruit on the same plate over here.
You put out some lovely content but it struck me you're someone who will never really put yourself out for others. Taking care of family I understand but you're not the sort of person to go into slums to help other. It would not be a chic enough surroundings.
Lol. This is a very judgemental comment. Also clearly jealous. I can't imagine making that kind of judgement about someone based on what they share on a youtube channel. How naive and simple!🙄
@@JenniferoftheSea LOL of course you can make a judgement about a person on what they put out on a UA-cam channel! Especially as it's so intimate allowing us into very private part of her life.
Wow, just wow! I don't know how you came up with that. It's a very strange comment and completely pointless in my opinion. The internet is a very weird place.
Honey, I’ve been watching you for years and I adore you, but as one of your older fans I have to be honest. I had to “unsubscribe” to your channel not because of the intermittent fasting content, which I don’t really have a problem with, but because you’ve dropped too much weight and you just don’t look healthy anymore. I just want to make sure you’re hearing it, because I know you have daughters and you work so very hard to be a great role model to them. Your face is too thin, and your clothes are hanging on you in a way that looks less attractive than a year or two ago. Still beautiful though!! Sending hugs xo
Would you have unsubscribed if she had gained fifty pounds? I know your intentions are meant to be kind but I think as a society we have become much too comfortable with seeing people who are overweight? As someone who has struggled to lose weight I love seeing a person meet their goals in a gentle and safe way. Her children are blessed to have a family that eats healthfully and such inspirational portions!
Or is America just getting use to seeing bigger people? When travelling around the world it is quite stark how people of some nations are very slim and not seen as skinny or unhealthy. The French are slim, the Japanese.Singaporeans .......
Jennifer, thank you for all your videos! I’m just changing my lifestyle and the 16:8 method looks like the most realistic one. Happy & healthy, without depression from dieting. “Simply”: savoir vivre 💕
This was lovely. I don't know what I am doing wrong but 2 months of doing the 16:8 method and I haven't lost any weight at all. 🥲 Agreed, my portion sizes are bigger than yours but not by a lot. Is my scale broken? 😆 Or is something else the matter. 🤔
In 2 months I’ve lost only 3-4 lbs ( I go back and forth) I really had to cut back on carbs and my tea time sweet ( I have often attached it to lunch) I have noticed I’m not as hungry and am eating less, getting full with less- which I thought would be impossible as I’ve always been a grazer. I’m 59, a notoriously hard age to lose weight so I’m being kind to myself.
It's not IF that's made her lose weight, it's the fact that she stopped snacking late into the night and portion control. Food matters, portion size matters and it has nothing to do with IF. I wish more people realized it's not IF that's made them lose weight, it's just changing a lifestyle to something simple as not eating late or portion control or skipping on the bread one meal
@@picframe000 IF likely controls her appetite and energy level. But her portion control is probably the biggest player here. Plus her food looks very nutritious and contain lots of fiber, which further cut down the calories.

I suspect that it is habit. I know that when we bought a new dinner set out portion size went up and we put on weight. I'm finding it much harder to get used to smaller portions, but was perfectly happy with them before (and have moved back to smaller plates).
Mmmm...
Each to their own, but the added sugar content in each meal could be reviewed. Maple syrup, sugar in tea, cake and adding sugar to a sweet potato?!
Sadly I too had to unsubscribe.
Ouch, that's a honey with a sting! Goodness me, what a comment to write!
@@theresashingler4345 yes, a lot of looking green in a nice package.
Don't feel bad that you aren't losing. Like any diet, IF doesn't work for everyone.
@@picframe000 Hi Sunshine😄! If I ate tea time daily I would gain weight! Does she eat sweets everyday? Keen to hear what you think. Take care
@@picframe000 IF likely controls her appetite and energy level. But her portion control is probably the biggest player here. Plus her food looks very nutritious and contain lots of fiber, which further cut down the calories.
