I used to follow him, but there just came a point where the stories he was telling were obviously fake and weirdly fetish-y. Like he made a 15-part or so saga about him, as a teenager, having an illegal relationship with his babysitter and it was just so fake, and unfunny, that I lost interest real quick.
I used to watch this guy all the time. Top of the line. But the content got worse imo, the babysitter stuff was pure weird and most of the jokes just sucked. I saw how the "face reveal" got leaked on jaiden's side and wondered who it was, and it being Alex was a major surprise for me. Made me see him as a complete ass.

Yes, she did gave him permission to release the video AT FIRST before she was dealing with major depression and its once she wasn't feeling well that she contacted him about editing the video so her face wasn't in the vidcon video. Instead of listening to her and allowing the edited version of the video to be posted, he went behind her word and posted the video anywho with no regard to her mental health issues at the time. That's where she had to show everyone her face in one of her videos at that time and told anyone who asked to see her face to please stop asking after she posted her 'face reveal' video explaining why she's not comfortable with showing it at that time. There's a huge difference between being okay AT FIRST and then not being okay with it, only for them to post it anywho and one being okay with it when they're not and never saying anything. She told him and even offered to edit the video, he declined her request and still posted it anywho meanwhile Rebecca did the complete opposite and even offered to remove her video entirely to relieve her friend's stress of her face being shown at that time in her life. i heard of his name through a brewstew video a few years ago but the majority of channel, to me, looks like its just fueled by perversion. not something i'd be into.
He was always going into Odd1sout’s old videos like the Odd1sout’s laser tag video and piñata video and would beg for subscribers even doing a skit at the end card where he poisons his cake to take over his channel which was pretty weird. Also he saw Odd1sout’s video on board games and when he mentioned chess boxing saw it as a way to further his own channel so he challenged Odd1sout to a match which saw little to no growth. Also the whole Jaiden face reveal thing which was scummy. Always seemed like he was more of a sleazy businessman than a friend which is why people found his stuff not genuine and why he moved his channel to pervy content like dating his babysitter when he was a kid which appealed to kids and preteens.

As someone who used to watch him cus of his babysitter series in middle school, I personally stopped watching because I was fed up with the prolonging of the story. Normally I get it, because animation takes time, but his reasons felt more geared to the fact he didn’t seem to have anything without it. Also, something always seemed off about the guy. Insincere, honestly. Hearing that he was the reason Jaiden went downhill has just made me properly unsubscribe, even if I haven’t watched his content for years I don’t want to support that
Even though this video is a year old, I wouldn't say the cause of his channel's decline was due to downfall of UA-cam animation. Why? Because there isn't a downfall, not when UA-cam shorts have been around for a long time now. Heck, I would say UA-cam animation is doing great. I have seen animation channels which seemed to be in some decline suddenly experience a spike in views and subs upon pivoting some of their effort to UA-cam shorts. What's happening to Alex is because storytime animation is on a decline. While you will see some storytime animation UA-camrs still do this, some of them have learned to mix up their content with something else (e.g. game review, silly slapstick comedy, etc). But you're right. Alex hasn't learned to innovate his content. He still tries to stick to storytime animations, when that isn't popular anymore. His controversy with Jaiden animation could've been a factor, but I think so much time has passed that people should've genuinely forgotten. If I were him, I would minimize the storytime animations, and stop making videos regarding the poor state of the channel. I would also focus a little more on UA-cam shorts, along with an animation update to attract old and new subscribers' attention. Also, the new content has to be something fresh and on popular topic, such as his views on movies, sports, anime, while sprinkling a bit of what made him popular in them.
Really good video. The only criticism i think is your voice over. You sound like you are robotically reading a script. If you do use a script, i would recommend you try using just bullet points. You seem a very tense. This video is high quality. Amazing job.

I used to be a fan of this guy, but I grew to dislike the videos since they just seemed… weird. Hard to describe, but there was a level of insincerity to it. I can now see that he was not a very nice person and am glad I don’t watch his content anymore.
Honestly I don't remember laughing at one of his modern videos unironically, mostly at how bad the animation quality and humor was. I get there is only so much a youtuber can do, but man did the quality of his content plummet off a cliff.

A lot of animation channels have lost their spark. Its not their fault either, im sure we all loved these animation channels because they were relatable. To be honest, I think the whole thing with Jaiden got way out of hand. Don‘t get me wrong: I think he handled the whole thing very poorly and should have been waaaay more sensitive to how much of a big deal this was for Jaiden. Revealing her face when she clearly asked him not to should never have happened. It was a big eff-up on his part. However, my impression was that it happened out of carelessnes/insensitivity rather than malice. He simply did not realize how problematic the face reveal was for Jaiden (which he totally should have). When I first became aware of the situation and looked into it, I found a vid of Jaiden where she explained the whole affair from her point of view but deliberatly kept Alex anonymous (like she did in the clip shown in this video) because she didn‘t want this unpleasant situation to become a big deal. Then, the UA-cam-lynchmob started pointing fingers at Alex, making a HUGE deal out of the issue and acting like they were white-knighting Jaiden while simultaniously blatantly ignoring her wish to let it all die down quietly. My impression of Alex is that he is an all in all okay guy who messed up big time in this particular situation.

I think it's better to say that the storytime animation community just declined in importanced after it's peak in 2016-2018, especially as Web Animation on UA-cam has resurged after the low point of 2011-2016 due to change in YT algrithom from views to watch time and veterans just leaving for personal reasons

Great video man. I would like to give my own prespective to this. I watched both videos (Alex's and Anthony's, as well as jaiden's "Why i dont have a face reveal"), and I have come to realize that Alex did not in fact do what he did out of "support" for Jaiden, he just wanted them sweet youtube views. Although I am disappointed in him, since I used to watch his content a lot, I have slowly -somewhat- forgiven him for what he did. Did he do something for personal gain that mortified Jaiden? Oh for sure and I feel horrible for her. But now, Jaiden has moved on from it, as she has stated on her own in Anthony's video that she is not that shy and insecure person she used to be. Plus, although alex fucked up very badly, in the end he did do the "right thing" by deleting the video and (from his prespective, don't know if it's fully true) apologising to Jaiden. I feel like his video was not really an apology, rather an explanation from his prespective, which might not be fully true, but we will never know. In the end, what I want to say from all this is that we all fuck up. No one is a sinless angel, we will all do some things that won't be "nice". Alex did something horrible which has disappointed me, but it happened almost 8 years ago. That's almost an entire decade, both Alex and Jaiden are over this already, so why aren't we yet?
To be honest, I still watch his content. It's DEPRESSING how his views are now. Some of his videos don't crack 10k views, & his 500k monthly in the video is now a FIFTH of what it was. Why am I still watching? To see how far he falls. His content is definitely trying, but he's not really able to do a lot, since he has so many subscribers that don't watch his channel. The odds of him making a comeback are slim to none, but you never know. Alex, if you're reading this, I'm sorry, but unless you were all of a sudden able to lose millions of subscribers for a fresh new start (or somehow re-attract all the lost viewers), there's very little you can do.

Even when I told them why I never wanted my face shown online but I'm glad and relieved that he apologized to her privately and she handled the situation better than she should've. And again, I'm not gonna say that he's a bad guy because he's not and I do not want to believe that he is. He is a human being and we all make mistakes whether they are forgivable or not. Honestly, I loved and enjoyed Alex Clark youtube channel. But as soon as it was revealed that it was Alex who was the one who uploaded Jaden's uncensored face is when I stopped watching or supporting his channel all together. I honestly didn't know that it was him who leaked Jaiden's face and then made that art piece knowing full well that she was dealing with eating disorders, but the fact that I now know what he did, I'm very glad to had never subscribed to him since his content felt kinda...off when I saw a few videos of his. Yes, she did gave him permission to release the video AT FIRST before she was dealing with major depression and its once she wasn't feeling well that she contacted him about editing the video so her face wasn't in the vidcon video. Instead of listening to her and allowing the edited version of the video to be posted, he went behind her word and posted the video anywho with no regard to her mental health issues at the time. That's where she had to show everyone her face in one of her videos at that time and told anyone who asked to see her face to please stop asking after she posted her 'face reveal' video explaining why she's not comfortable with showing it at that time.
There's a huge difference between being okay AT FIRST and then not being okay with it, only for them to post it anywho and one being okay with it when they're not and never saying anything. i heard of his name through a brewstew video a few years ago but the majority of channel, to me, looks like its just fueled by perversion. not something i'd be into.
He was always going into Odd1sout’s old videos like the Odd1sout’s laser tag video and piñata video and would beg for subscribers even doing a skit at the end card where he poisons his cake to take over his channel which was pretty weird. Also he saw Odd1sout’s video on board games and when he mentioned chess boxing saw it as a way to further his own channel so he challenged Odd1sout to a match which saw little to no growth. Also the whole Jaiden face reveal thing which was scummy. Always seemed like he was more of a sleazy businessman than a friend which is why people found his stuff not genuine and why he moved his channel to pervy content like dating his babysitter when he was a kid which appealed to kids and preteens.

Honestly Alex seems like he has no sense of self awareness. Like how do u not c how big of a problem leaking Jaidens face reveal would be. Like sure he got views and stuff but that whole thing was a PR disaster in the long run. Since he doesn’t seem to have morals you’d expect him to have some care for PR. Even on a smaller scale like asking a small UA-camr like lizardBoi to remove a video calling him out is such a Bad PR move.

I stopped watching him when I was younger when I became increasingly more obvious to me that his videos weren’t true or highly exaggerated. This was probably in 2016 or 2017

As someone who used to watch him cus of his babysitter series in middle school, I personally stopped watching because I was fed up with the prolonging of the story. Normally I get it, because animation takes time, but his reasons felt more geared to the fact he didn’t seem to have anything without it. Also, something always seemed off about the guy. Insincere, honestly. Hearing that he was the reason Jaiden went downhill has just made me properly unsubscribe, even if I haven’t watched his content for years I don’t want to support that

Even though this video is a year old, I wouldn't say the cause of his channel's decline was due to downfall of UA-cam animation. Why? Because there isn't a downfall, not when UA-cam shorts have been around for a long time now. Heck, I would say UA-cam animation is doing great. I have seen animation channels which seemed to be in some decline suddenly experience a spike in views and subs upon pivoting some of their effort to UA-cam shorts.
What's happening to Alex is because storytime animation is on a decline.
While you will see some storytime animation UA-camrs still do this, some of them have learned to mix up their content with something else (e.g. game review, silly slapstick comedy, etc).
But you're right. Alex hasn't learned to innovate his content. He still tries to stick to storytime animations, when that isn't popular anymore. His controversy with Jaiden animation could've been a factor, but I think so much time has passed that people should've genuinely forgotten.
If I were him, I would minimize the storytime animations, and stop making videos regarding the poor state of the channel. I would also focus a little more on UA-cam shorts, along with an animation update to attract old and new subscribers' attention. Also, the new content has to be something fresh and on popular topic, such as his views on movies, sports, anime, while sprinkling a bit of what made him popular in them.
Really good video. The only criticism i think is your voice over. You sound like you are robotically reading a script. If you do use a script, i would recommend you try using just bullet points. You seem a very tense. This video is high quality. Amazing job.

I used to be a fan of this guy, but I grew to dislike the videos since they just seemed… weird. Hard to describe, but there was a level of insincerity to it. I can now see that he was not a very nice person and am glad I don’t watch his content anymore.

Same. When he was at his peak I would watch his animations in between classes at my community college but after he redesigned his character, I noticed his videos became less and less interesting and more and more pervy, so I stopped watching
A lot of animation channels have lost their spark. Its not their fault either, im sure we all loved these animation channels because they were relatable. I mean, theodd1out is still huge, but it's the most noticeable channel that lost its spark. He lost his reliability years ago. Jaiden has seemed to turn to a normal youtuber but turn her videos into animations instead of her story videos
people only really watched him cuz his content was less PG and it attracted a lot of the teenage male demographic because it was relatable, but then he kinda just only did that one thing without innovation and slowly lost relevence.
To be honest, I think the whole thing with Jaiden got way out of hand. Don‘t get me wrong: I think he handled the whole thing very poorly and should have been waaaay more sensitive to how much of a big deal this was for Jaiden. Revealing her face when she clearly asked him not to should never have happened. It was a big eff-up on his part. However, my impression was that it happened out of carelessnes/insensitivity rather than malice. He simply did not realize how problematic the face reveal was for Jaiden (which he totally should have). When I first became aware of the situation and looked into it, I found a vid of Jaiden where she explained the whole affair from her point of view but deliberatly kept Alex anonymous (like she did in the clip shown in this video) because she didn‘t want this unpleasant situation to become a big deal. Then, the UA-cam-lynchmob started pointing fingers at Alex, making a HUGE deal out of the issue and acting like they were white-knighting Jaiden while simultaniously blatantly ignoring her wish to let it all die down quietly. My impression of Alex is that he is an all in all okay guy who messed up big time in this particular situation.
No hate for Fiddle‘s video though, it was very matter-of-fact and informative. Thanks for that.

I think it's better to say that the storytime animation community just declined in importanced after it's peak in 2016-2018, especially as Web Animation on UA-cam has resurged after the low point of 2011-2016 due to change in YT algrithom from views to watch time and veterans just leaving for personal reasons

I watched both videos (Alex's and Anthony's, as well as jaiden's "Why i dont have a face reveal"), and I have come to realize that Alex did not in fact do what he did out of "support" for Jaiden, he just wanted them sweet youtube views.
Although I am disappointed in him, since I used to watch his content a lot, I have slowly -somewhat- forgiven him for what he did.
Did he do something for personal gain that mortified Jaiden? Oh for sure and I feel horrible for her. But now, Jaiden has moved on from it, as she has stated on her own in Anthony's video that she is not that shy and insecure person she used to be. Plus, although alex fucked up very badly, in the end he did do the "right thing" by deleting the video and (from his prespective, don't know if it's fully true) apologising to Jaiden. I feel like his video was not really an apology, rather an explanation from his prespective, which might not be fully true, but we will never know.
In the end, what I want to say from all this is that we all fuck up. No one is a sinless angel, we will all do some things that won't be "nice". Alex did something horrible which has disappointed me, but it happened almost 8 years ago. That's almost an entire decade, both Alex and Jaiden are over this already, so why aren't we yet?

I never liked him much, I feel like the red flags were always there that he was a jerk.
I can think off the top of my head of two videos where he admits to theft.
One of which was as revenge. Basically a kid was annoying him when he worked at a summer camp for like two months, so he snuck into his room, opened his chest of things, and took his DS the kid loved.
Alex was a Freshman in college at this point, stealing from a child because the kid was annoying him. What. An. Ass.
Alex Clark never seemed to be in it for the sake of creating. He was obviously in it for the fame and popularity. If he enjoyed creating he would have branched out but he never grew or tried new things. Also his audience was always young kids and they don’t stick around unless you mature your content with them

To be fair, as someone who had an ED it’s really fucked up to do that. From an outside perspective it may seem “petty” but that is why it’s a disorder because to someone with an ED it’s a lot worse than that. Body dysmorphia is a real thing and if I were a popular internet creator that hadn’t shown my face and was in midst of an ED and someone posted me even after telling them not to, I would’ve spiraled. I used to watch this. But i didnt watch any of the perversion stories. Yet the other videos still had perversion in it

I feel bad for jaiden because on top of everything, she never once admitted it was him because she didnt want to get people on him. She didnt want to hurt this man who had already done so much harm to her. I'm just saying.
(also personally he always seemed obnoxious and douchebag-ey to me, not to mention how weird and gross his content was for a genre of youtuber with typically younger audiences... glad he's irrelevant now)

I might sound a bit harsh when I say this and I don't want to be hateful towards Alex but what he did to Jaiden during the vidcon incident was absolutely infuriating. Me personally I would never forgive the person who leaked my face when I'm at the lowest point on my life. Even when I told them why I never wanted my face shown online but I'm glad and relieved that he apologized to her privately and she handled the situation better than she should've. And again, I'm not gonna say that he's a bad guy because he's not and I do not want to believe that he is. He is a human being and we all make mistakes whether they are forgivable or not. The hateful comments that he mentioned in his video about the vidcon incident was VERY unnecessary and they really hurt him. I genuinely felt terrible and bad for him. This is just my opinion.
Honestly, I loved and enjoyed Alex Clark youtube channel. But as soon as it was revealed that it was Alex who was the one who uploaded Jaden's uncensored face is when I stopped watching or supporting his channel all together.
It'd be one thing if Alex didn't know what Jaden was going through, but she told him, and he did, and uploaded the video anyway.
I refuse to support a channel from a person who's directly responsible for making someone's mental health worse than it already was.
Quite frankly, I don't care if Alex deleted the video and made an apology. Whether Jaden actually forgave him or not, I still refuse to watch his videos. I never even search them or comment on his videos over what he did. Mostly because that would've still given him views and attention, which he doesn't deserve. Alex Clark simply isn't worth the energy.
