    Clear and concise. VESC XR is the way. I've given up on FM, while not hating on them, I wish them well, but as a repair person, explaining why their boards now make noise, or having to do the many tricks to fix something that I can't buy parts for, gets old, fast. I ride a WTF Varial setup, with a KushLo front(I made out of wood)and KushLo rear, with a CBXR(longing for the meatpack), it's got Tony's XRV kit, which I've done 3 or now. I do not miss the tail slapping, no power, weird cutoff's and haven't used my Fangs once, since changing. The sheer torque, the ATR(which takes some getting used to)is such a joy. Curiously, it was the 2x4 test that Surfdado did, that we replicated with another riders GTV board, that convinced me and another rider to get on board, and let me just say, VESC, while having some shortcomings(Mario, the BMS part you nailed)is the future. I could write pages on why this is a safer, funner, better board, but for me, the OG XR, has always been the way. As I've often said, and heard Jeff say, you are not on it, you're in it. I never liked the thickness of the GT or the height, and once I rode WTF's, game changer. I have half n' half's on my loaner XR which of course, is also a XRV. At some point folks who are serious riders will realize, FM makes good learner boards. You develop many habits that will help you get better, though I can't help but think, there would be a lot less injuries if the board didn't cut off on you because it doesn't make power when you need it. Anyone that watched and listened to this review, thinks for one second that Mario hasn't nailed the essentials really needs to ride a good build, and then watch this video again. Great stuff Mario. I look forward to your next one, and hope one day to ride with parts you made. . . aoxo

    I have the GT. I had previously changed to Flat Kick foot pads and recently updated it with WTF Lowrider rails, really liking this setup. For Christmas I treated myself to FM's 6" hub assembly and a new Enduro tire. Now I'm really happy with the combination. I know, I've spent entirely too much money with FM to get here but the result is a great ride for me.

    As a first time Onewheel owner, I’ve been happy with my XRC recurve purchase. I’m also a larger rider, being around 225/230lbs and 6’3”. I’ve enjoyed the planted feel and how nimble it can be on the street. While I’m still learning all the mechanics of it, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again. It feels like a good introduction to the sport and I can’t wait to see what customized options get produced.
    After the warranty is up, I plan to drop the GTV Kit into it. Maybe a different battery box is made to fit the ME4T Pack. I believe it’s about 1mm larger, and could fit with some finagling. Fun platform, could be better, but definitely happy I have one. Thanks for sharing your experience. 🤙

    I removed my ESC day 1 when I recieved my XRC and putted GTV kit inside, I find it unrideable with stock ESC, esecially when I turn, it still dips the nose down and pull up the nose abit higehr after it dips down, and of cuz very low torque, 100% agree to what your opinion on the XRC. my take is: if it were 1399$ and comes with VESC and GTS motor and 30s1p battery it would be a pretty good all arounder

    Great review! What is there not to love about GT power and feel in an XR-sized board? I think that's a quantifiably better thing, not just a nostalgia thing. Which shapings did you try for this review, btw? I've been really enjoying the new Session shaping, it's like a Mission +! Less growly and aggressive but still has enough power to feel like it's what the GT should've been from the start. But a trail ripper in these days of GTS and VESC power.. it is not 😂It's a great & light little neighborhood/errand running board for the quiver, though!

      an xrv destroys this in every way

    • @1800Swagg
      @1800Swagg 6 днів тому

      @@MrDmadnessno it doesn’t even remotely. An XRV has less power and range and would overheat sooner. You need a better battery than a stock pack.
      A VESC XR? Yeah, that could destroy it with at least 75V. But the XRV is a “VESC lite”. It’s a gold star sticker for coming in 4th place.

    • @MrDmadness
      @MrDmadness 6 днів тому

      @1800Swagg it goes faster, climbs better and has more range, you don't seem to appreciate how governed fm software is bud. Voltage is electrical pressure, not electron flow. It will move more weight but it won't do it faster. I also have a gtv board but no joke the xrv will outperform a fm gt . It seems like you don't understand that an xrv IS a vesc xr

    • @AlexLepoutre
      @AlexLepoutre 5 днів тому +1

      @ How does an XRV do on being able to buy it easily and already fully assembled, and ready to go out of the box with zero tinkering needed? Does it destroy it there too? Hell any EUC destroys any Onewheel on pure power and spec alone, but you don't see everyone rushing to EUCs over Onewheels either..

      @MrDmadness 5 днів тому

      @@AlexLepoutre if you can't open a controller box and unplug one thing, plug in another to make your board literally approx 600% better I dunno what to tell ya bud.... thats the entire point of my comment that you're now drifting away from just to create an argument that is not there to have. What I said is fact. I've nothing against fm, but reality is harsh. An euc is not at all the same as a onewheel, that's why I have maybe 200km on euc and well 9fer 50,000 on onewheel and vesc

    XRC looks nice but tbh I have no attachment to the XR platform (I wish we'd move on tbh) and don't want another other than maybe to sit with the collection of boards. I've always seen the XRC as a chunkier Pint but it does look and sound more and more like just a GTLite after hearing your thoughts. Kinda sad the XR got reduced to marketing for a mid tier board having held flagship for so long but I guess it is what it is.
    Regardless I'm rocking my frankenrepaired GT on pre-haptic's and I love it. All I want is range for days. Anything above 20mph is just headroom I'll touch in a bad mood.
    Till something comes out that isn't just "wheel go brrr real fest" from FM or the competition I'm riding my stinky blacked out GT.

    Hate it or love it. XRC is a happy medium between the FM line up.
    The XRC is honestly the perfect middle ground in the OneWheel lineup. It beats the Pint X/S with more range, torque, and top speed-plus, higher pushback limit, which is a game changer. It’s also cheaper than the GTS and still delivers awesome performance, so unless you're racing, you don’t really need the extra features. Compared to the GT, it’s lighter, more powerful, and doesn’t lose much in range. For me, the XRC’s the sweet spot-it’s practical, fun, and easy to carry around without worrying about pushback or range issues.
    Your weight is a huge factor in your experience with any of the lineup. However if you're below 180 (my weight), XRC is perfect.

      Maybe for heavier riders but for lighter riders under 180lbs i can assure you the pintS has more low end torque then the Xrc...my pint-S has 35mph freespin...this Gt light aka Xrc has less 28mph in freespin...your more likely to get dropped by the Xrc then the pint-S bro..I've already done the reviews. Only difference is the Xrc is a bigger board so the stability is a little better for more novice riders..& the Xrc has a little more range than the pint-S...experienced riders can now ride the pint-S with comparable stability bcuz of the 3.0 hydrus fw custom shaping the pintS has...the low end torque is like a rocket...ask anyone who owns a pint-S & im sure they will say the same

    This clears my mind a little, I swore it was just me. Beep Boop, Beep Bop, Beep, Creep, Ehhh why...
    Clunky sounds, lack of power and a PD system that is so hell bent on safety that it makes riding a pain or nightmare or a accident waiting to happen.
    I like my DIY boards that allow custom tunes for the rider not the board trying to be made for all riders but lacking what all riders need.
    When I made skates for people, I would ask the demands and needs of the rider and tune them accordingly to them and also offer ways to make them do more but sometimes that would go beyond there current funds. With that said I would still show the options that could be upgraded later on, thus making it more stainable (sustainable means repairable and tunable by the rider IE personal tunes not a companies standard.) for all riders with no lock downs or having to support companies that wont help or charge more fees to correct issues that could have been prevented by allowing users or riders etc to manage there own system. The GT was a death trap to me for all riders, watch a video and try and do what they do and think your a broken minded person for the board not doing what others do. When it is more than likely that they tuned there boards to the rider as one should be able to and thus people wreck and break bones for no reason other than the extra safety features that are deemed as helpful when not. Im thankful for Vesc and have a more than a lack of appreciation for the generalized marketing when its done nothing but confuse people all over on what to get for themselves and or how to fix the issue.
    My best example is a kickstand sensor on a dirt bike, why god why would this be a thing for safety when you know that would cause harm.
    Also a tilt sensor on a dirt bike as if the bike is designed to be straight up and down all the time.... Lets go ride the ebikes, sure then hits a jump
    needs to tilt to land, where did the power go... Oh no I just wrecked my body and broke my bike. Its ok we can offer you a new replacement at a lower cost cause we feel bad. Why not just make it right to begin with?
    Sorry for the rant but felt I should at last speak some of my opinions on this.
    Me being humble I think some are not opinions but a fight over a fact and options like a tilt sensor and kickstand sensor on any bike.
    That just makes more problems and one more part to worry about for the rider etc.
    Also can make the rider feel unstable and not in control when needing to make sure there kickstand don't fall when riding.
    No one wants to look down. Also what if I lean into a bowl or turn, well bike cuts out and rider gets injured.
    So I will just say its a opinion but I think some are really options being placed on things that do not need that as a option.
    Example: we can put blinkers on a soda can. Yah but its not needed makes more waste and serves no value to anyone unless to be a clown show.
