I remember that! They had bios for each ghost and man, some of their stories fucked me up. This movie gives me the chills to this day, but it's so good!
Aries:first born son Taurus: the torso Gemini: the bound woman Cancer: the whiterd lover Leo: the torn prince Virgo: the angry princess Libra: the pilgrimess Scorpio: the great child Sagittarius: the dire mother Capricorn: the hammer Aquarius: the jackel Pisces: the juggernaut
Me watching the jackal attacking shannon Elizabeth: 😱😱😱 Me watching the jackal leaving the house at the end: 🥺🥺 He would kill me so quick, but def my favorite
Could you imagine if your bedroom was under the bathroom with all the clear piping and walls and ceilings? Thirteenth Ghosts would rock as mortal combat characters. You came up with that reach around idea pretty fast
You can look up the backgrounds of all the ghosts online. The Jackal (the ghost with the cage on their head) is the most terrifying to me.

The Jackal was nothing... He couldn't even kill Shannon Elizabeth!! The JUGGERNAUT was the one to be scared of.. He was just an indestructible tank that literally just snapped people in half!!
We just had Matthew Lillard and Shannon Elizabeth here at Scarefest in Lexington Ky. Both are awesome people! As expected, Matthew's table was extremely packed all the way outside and around the building all weekend.
It would be kind of cool if they decide to make the tv show and have 13 episodes. Each ghost gets their own episode, because at the end of this movie all of the ghost are left wondering outside so it would make sense that the spirits would go find new people to terrorize out in the world, only this time they arent going to be contained with the spiritual markings on the glass so the stakes are 10x higher.
When I watched this for the first time with my eldest brother it changed my brain chemistry, im obsessed with everything, the sketches of the ghosts, the glass house, and even recommend the split kill scene to be shown in my biology class senior year to show what a frontal plane looks like 🙂 also the channel Marvelous Videos has a good video explaining every ghosts story 🫶
That intro to the family was so concise and so impactful: just through sound design, dialogue and prop work, the film gives you the driving tragedy behind the family and the impact it has on their life (and isn't that wall of bills a dash of existential horror to modern audiences).
I always thought a missed opportunity was doing a limited run tv show of ghost!Dennis finding a psychic to track down and help move on the ghosts while also maybe trying to stay ahead of a group bent on finishing what Cyrus started; it could've even had small cameos of the original actors/characters maybe even ghost!lawyer or ghost!Kalina with big bad being ghost!Cyrus?~
They actually do have the backstory of each ghost in the bonus footage of this movie for the DVD told by sirus almost like a storybook with illustrations for each one. You can find it on youtube
The woman who played Miss Honey is Embeth Davitz. She is also in the movie Fallen with Denzel Washington. It is a must see if you haven't already watched it.
I would LOVE to see this remade, but only if they do it correctly. This is such an underrated movie, I love it so much.. don't want a remake that will destroy it
I would love them to go more into the backstories of all the ghosts! They're all so interesting. Edit: didn't know there was gonna be a show! That's awesome
I never wanna over use this word but talk about fcking ICONIC this movie has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid that early 2000’s horror was just peak entertaining. I wouldn’t be upset at a remake especially with the tech, and practical effects we have now the ghost would look bad ass they have the blue print! If they could do with this what they did with evil dead 2013 I think it would be cool plus anything with Mathew Lillard is a must watch.
The only thing I remember about this movie is watching it with my dad as a kid…and we were eating lasagna then the guy got split in half by the door and we no longer wanted to eat our lasagna 🤣
I only watched this movie is because the guy who played Adrian Monk is in this movie I love Monk the tv series and its movie and I think he was in the spy kids movie franchise and miss honey from Matilda (1996)...

"That was a really insane opening... I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED! No I have no clue... But I had a lot of fun!" So they were trying to catch the 12th ghost for Cyrus, the Juggernaut. He's the big BADASS snatching people dick first into cars and cutting them in half with others. The Juggernaut is BY FAR the BIGGEST AND BADDEST of all the ghosts!!! The only other 2 would be like the Hammer and the Jackal. None of the others really try to hurt anyone, except maybe the suicide princess, but she just stalks Shannon Elizabeth around the house, like turning the water into blood that Shannon can't EVEN SEE because she doesn't have any glasses at the time...
I always refer to this movie as “The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo”, which is ironic considering Matthew Lillard is one of its stars. There’s that old saying that people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones - this bunch should have brought boulders! Bobby was a pioneer. Rolling around on his little razor scooter is giving Danny Torrance vibes. I kept waiting for the Grady twins to show up and say, “Come play with us, Bobby. Forever and ever and ever...” Maggie is an absolute icon. We were robbed of a franchise in which Dennis and Maggie investigate haunted locations. I would have watched the heck out of that!
Iconic 2000s horror! I remember I saw this when I was like 8 and I was kinda ill at the time and I actually spewed into my glass of water because I was so scared it just brought it out me 😂
Did anyone catch that actor Matthew Lillard(Dennis Rafkin) sounded a bit like SHAGGY ROGERS? I guess THIS is why and how he was casted as the character in the live action Scooby-Doo and its sequel. He even voiced the character as well, which is AWESOME!!!!! Casey Kasem, the OG voice of SHAGGY would've been so proud!!!!😢
this will always the one or the best movies, let alone halloween movie. the prince in here is fine af lol. the daughter in here she plays in one of the scary movies the parody ones lol. we are still waiting for them to make a shower with each ghost with their background. we have been waiting for this for a long time now.
There was bonus featurette on the DVD of Thir13en Ghosts (back in the old days), I think they called the featurette "The Black Zodiac" that told the story of each of the ghosts featured in this movie, narrated by good ole' uncle Cyrus. You can still find it uploaded online. It might still be on UA-cam even. Some of the ghosts were evil people in life and some weren't. The Jackal and The Juggernaut were both bad news. I hope they went back to the Underworld or something, instead of just wandering off and k*lling more people.
Before you even start ( and I’m sure you’ll cover this). How does this man with past due bills have a non cooking non window washing nanny and a grown daughter who doesn’t need a nanny?
*Me: struggles to find an answer that is logical* Well, some of us just live different lives, Nichole! 😂 🫂🫂🫂 (Idk, honestly, Idt the family does either... lol)
1- First Born Son 2- Torso 3- Bound Woman 4- Withered Lover(Jean Kriticos) 5- Torn Prince 🤴 6- Angry Princess 👸 7- Pilgrimess 8- Great Child 9- Dire Mother 10- Hammer 11- Jackal 12- JUGGERNAUT 13- ???????????????? NOT the ones of Scooby Doo!!!!!!😅
SURE....Blood is thicker than water. Of course, Dom Toretto had once said 'you don't turn your back on family'. But apparently those words became a thing of the past the very moment poor Arthur Kriticos had learned that he himself was being set up.... as THE 13TH GHOST!!!!!!👻 WHAT AN EVIL UNCLE HE HAS!!!!

Here on UA-cam you can find the full special feature that goes into the backstories of all the ghosts, their names, and what led to their deaths
Hello gentlemen, please, please please consider doing John Waters’ “Serial Mom” it’s camp and has Kathleen Turner and Matthew Lillard😎
The DVD has a special feature where it goes into more detail about each ghost. Anyways, I’m glad you guys reacted to this movie 😊
I remember that! They had bios for each ghost and man, some of their stories fucked me up. This movie gives me the chills to this day, but it's so good!
Came here to say this! lol. Me and my sister had it on dvd and that featurette is epic. You can see it on UA-cam now if you search it tho.
@@jasminelong3234scared me more than the actual movie 😂
The special feature is actually available on UA-cam for free. Search "Thirteen Ghosts Backstories".
Anything Matthew lillard touches turns to gold
Amen!
Ru-roh!:
“Did I say there was a petting zoo downstairs? NO! THERE ARE GHOSTS DOWNSTAIRS ARTHUR!!”
I absolutely love this movie
House on Haunted Hill, 13 Ghosts, and Ghost Ship are the perfect Halloween trilogy. Miss this era from Dark Castle, so many fun horror films.
OMG, exactly those 3 movies are among my favorite horror movies! 😀❤️💯
You forgot THE HAUNTING
Agreed ! I love this era of horror maybe it’s nostalgia but they’re so fun
@@niles8102I loved The Haunting ! Was it dark castle ?
House of Wax too!
The dvd has a segment giving all the lore on the ghosts.
Yeah, it does & I'm pretty sure you can find it on UA-cam. Actually, there are a few Thirteen Ghosts lore videos.
The fact that, that’s miss honey from Matilda still gets me lol
Lol I was today years old when I realized 🤔
I WISH more movies had this much lore packed in without even having to be explicitly stated.
Same! Implied lore tickles my brain lol
Aries:first born son
Taurus: the torso
Gemini: the bound woman
Cancer: the whiterd lover
Leo: the torn prince
Virgo: the angry princess
Libra: the pilgrimess
Scorpio: the great child
Sagittarius: the dire mother
Capricorn: the hammer
Aquarius: the jackel
Pisces: the juggernaut
Matthew Lillard yelling GHOSTS! is like ASMR to me
This movie is pure nostalgia. Such a classic.
right😍
Happy Halloweekend everyone!!!
Heads up, Wes. He told you exactly what he wants, a moonstone ring, AND showed you an example. Easy Christmas present.
The house should be a haunted house attraction. It looks incredible and the ghosts are honestly terrifying.
Thirteen Ghosts is my favorite scary movie during the early 2000s. My grandmother had it on VHS I miss her alot.
Me watching the jackal attacking shannon Elizabeth: 😱😱😱
Me watching the jackal leaving the house at the end: 🥺🥺
He would kill me so quick, but def my favorite
24:39 The face that scared a generation! This movie was ahead of it's time.
Maggie and Dennis were the best characters in this 😂
YASSSS NEVER CLICKED SO FAST!!! We love the raunchy, lore-rror flick 🤩
AHHHHH THIS IS A GEM!!!! I'm so excited you guys covered it! Love you guys!!!! ❤
Could you imagine if your bedroom was under the bathroom with all the clear piping and walls and ceilings? Thirteenth Ghosts would rock as mortal combat characters. You came up with that reach around idea pretty fast
OR DEAD BY DAYLIGHT!
Thank you so much for reacting to this movie it’s one of my favorites

I'm freaking screaming! LOVE this movie and I LOVE my petty pumpkins!! 🔥🔥
The dvd extra with the backstory and lore for each ghost was my favorite part of it all. You can probably find it on UA-cam
We just had Matthew Lillard and Shannon Elizabeth here at Scarefest in Lexington Ky. Both are awesome people! As expected, Matthew's table was extremely packed all the way outside and around the building all weekend.
I still remember this movie. I watched it as a teenager.

That is exacrly what they are doing. Filming starts in 2025.
i don’t understand how they haven’t given us this yet. they give us shit we didn’t ask for, but haven’t given us the ghost series.
@@niles8102don’t joke around! are they really?!
I completely forgot that Miss Honey is in this movie 😂 lol

The naked lady and the jackal creep me out the most
When I say I love these two like, I LOVE these two!
Thank you!!
I believe that was a chalcedony ring that Matthew Lillard was wearing- that was the “hot” gemstone that year - affordable in a silver setting.
I always thought a missed opportunity was doing a limited run tv show of ghost!Dennis finding a psychic to track down and help move on the ghosts while also maybe trying to stay ahead of a group bent on finishing what Cyrus started; it could've even had small cameos of the original actors/characters maybe even ghost!lawyer or ghost!Kalina with big bad being ghost!Cyrus?~
this movie is a throwback omg? I had so many nightmares about it 😭
This is one of my all-time favorite horror movies I'm glad you guys are watching it
"It's the Jackal daddy" lmaooooo
ah, I remember when this movie came out, it was one of my favs
Word of advice- NEVER inherit a secluded house that has a dozen trapped spirits in the basement!!!!😮
Matthew Lillard wearing glasses: a genre in itself.
This movie deserves a remake for the modern day. Give the ghosts a good solid update and it would be top tier.
I would LOVE to see this remade, but only if they do it correctly. This is such an underrated movie, I love it so much.. don't want a remake that will destroy it
It's getting a tv series. It will be 13 episodes and every episode will be the story of every ghost.
Only if they keep The Jackal the same. He was perfect. And don’t you dare tell me different.
@@AlastorsShadowDemonI feel the same way about the bloody princess lol
I would love them to go more into the backstories of all the ghosts! They're all so interesting.

The ghosts (and everything else) would only look worse in a remake! They look perfect the way they are in this movie here! 💯
I didn't like this movie when I first watched it, but it grew on me and now I love it!
so so good! didn't know there was a show coming out but that's exciting!
Now I have to watch either the DVD or the UA-cam video where they give the backstory for all of the ghosts.

Such a great movie along with ghost ship.
He wasn't dead lol. That was the whole point of the reveal of being able to see him without glasses.
In retrospect that makes sense 😂
That “Sarah Paulson” is Matilda’s teacher, “Miss Honey”, played by Embeth Davidtz :)
The actress that played Kalina also played Ms. Honey in Matilda.
yesss I love this movie! So excited to watch y'all react to this! 💙
I watched it a long time ago but recently revisited because I was binge watching movies/shows that Matthew Lillards was in😆

For another phenomenal ghost movie. You gotta check out The Frighteners! Ghosts, horror/comedy, and a hot Michael J Fox
Why do I actually feel like this is one of Shannon Elizabeth’s better performances 🫢
All I ever wanted to do was ride a brand new razor scooter on those thick glass floors....

You should try House on Haunted Hill 1999! That's another remake of an old black and white horror like this one.
Great movie. The 1960 version was great too, Just wished they had kept some of the old characters.
Are you gonna post your "Ghost Ship" video on here? Please do! 🙏 It's one of my favorite horror movies, so I'd love to see your reaction. 💯
Wes is so cute.
Rob Zombie movies boys!
