As promised, still here 7 months after passing. I still find these videos useful because it stops me from getting lazy and keeping the basics fresh in the head. Great teacher and great videos!
It is a good video that gives a full understanding of turning right and the procedures for looking at the mirror and a single support exam thank you once again
3:05 this happened to me, a car was oncoming but had slowed down to a halt, as I went to turn the corner the examiner slammed the brakes. Still unsure why he did this.
I've been driving for a long time have passed my test first time, I have passed my category C D1 and D. I was taught that when turning right I should move up to where I'm turning NOT sit one or two car lengths back, But I notice especially in the West Midlands, a lot of drivers sit back from the turn. This is a great video, I just wish something more was done to pull the majority of drivers back for a test or make it compulsory to sit an advanced test.
Hi my test got cancelled due to bad weather when you uploaded this they re booked it for 2 months away could you do a video on driving during 3:30 please as my test is at that time thanks for the help by the way matt.
At minute 1:55, when you turned and the silver car was close to the road, if there was a car trying to turn left from the junction you are about to turn to what will you have done please. Because the silver car is parked close to the junction. I failed for a fault like this.
Hi I've just failed my 3rd test & it's always been mistakes what i don't do on my driving lessons this last time i only had 5 minors am thinking of just doing private driving as I've got my own car already & maybe using different instructors for mock test's what does everyone think plz
Hi Matt, if I were you I'd go through the reason I had failed with my current instructor. If it is clear in your mind how you failed then you probably will be much more aware on your next test. This will help build up your confidence next time.
Funny this should come up, I was just at a junction controlled by traffic lights, waiting to turn right. I'm on a 4 lane road but there's no space for me to wait in when the lights change, if you want to turn right, you just have to pull forward and wait for the traffic in the lane you are crossing to be clear. I do this, and am waiting about 10 seconds when someone tears up behind me at speed, honks their horn several times and serves around me making gestures at me. This despite the fact that A) The lane to his left had been free for some time, so he could easily have moved over at any point B) I'd been in the right hand lane with my right indicator on for at least a minute and stopped waiting to turn right or 10 seconds. He had plenty of time to see me and take action. Not sure what else he thought I should do, I mean yes the opposite lane was clearing as he passed, but there was a car turning right from that lane as well, so I wanted to be sure I could move safely before turning. My conclusion: Some drivers are just morons.
Hi. Have you got any tips on how to deal with disappointment from failing the test? I did really well overall because I only got 2 minor faults but unfortunately I made 3 serious mistakes so the examiner said “I am sorry to say you haven’t passed on this occasion but overall you drove very well” and then he told me what he had to fail me on. I was very disappointed to have failed my first driving test so I have 6 weeks until I retry the test because that was the nearest available test
Hi, give yourself a couple of days to get over the disappointment. Then take on board that the examiner said you drove well. Work on the mistakes with your instructor and ask your instructor about using a driving test cancellation service. If your instructor agrees then you could end up taking your test in a couple of weeks.
I was having fun while taking the test and i was enjoying driving. I wasn't nervous or anything like that. Just chill and another day of driving. But guess what? I failed 2 times because of stupid mistakes i did because i wasnt paying attention, but on the 3rd attempt i passed the test and im happy. N
Hi, I'd like to ask a short question. When turning right, if the green filter light didn't light and no oncoming traficc, can I turn the right? Or can I wait until green filter light on?
Failed my test yesterday for something like that. There was a set of lights ahead and a filter light for going right. I intended to go right and light was green so I waited in the box junction as cars were coming the other way. Lights turn to red. Filter doesn’t come on so I wait and wait and wait for it. Turns out I was supposed to turn right while in the box junction when the lights were red. Bloody S*** luck.
Hi, if we turn on right bend, which side mirror should we check before approaching. I usually check left side mirror after interior mirror to keep myself on left.
@@JamesTravis can you tell me please if we are driving on the countryside roads and right or left bend is approaching which side mirrors to check after top mirror?
Hi Travis I have my driving test on the 13th of this Month, will the examiner tell me which lanes I should be in as the instructor does or is it expected of you to already know your lane positioning, I'm fine on my lanes I just want clarification on the matter, Thank you. :)))
The examiner will not tell you which lane to use, they will expect you to read the road signs and lane markings and make the correct or safe lane change if needed.

Safe driving
A very good video, as once over I did have a problem with this, until my driving instructor kept doing them over and over it certainly helped. :)
Another very helpful video. I passed 7 months ago but still watch your video's for refreshers 👍
Thank you for watching

I would of asked them to explain so you understand more.

At minute 1:55, when you turned and the silver car was close to the road, if there was a car trying to turn left from the junction you are about to turn to what will you have done please.
Because the silver car is parked close to the junction.
I failed for a fault like this.
If there is no space to safely enter the new road. Then wait and let the car wanting to emerge left leave before you turn into the road.

Thank ya all it was was that i went to wide when turning left at a stop line as the road has a funny shape to it
Is a bay parking video coming up soon James? Great video by the way.

Sounds like the other driver was in a rush and tried y to o pressure you to take a risk.
Good conclusion
@@JamesTravis that's probably right, but I'd rather be safe :)
what mirrors or what I actually should do if someone flashing lights while I'm turning right? thanks
Don't just rely on mirror checks, look over your shoulder and you may just avoid some tears.
