- The Florida Panthers held an emotional ceremony, including an impassioned speech from Roberto Luongo, honouring those affected by the February 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High.

I attended this game and can tell you that the tribute was even more incredible that this video can convey. The silence was something indescribable. A packed house, completely silent. When they started to shut off the spotlights with the names of the victims, it felt like a wave of heartbreak washed over the crowd. It was a sensation that each life was being taken from us, one by one. An amazing, somber, and heartfelt tribute by a classy organization.
Beautiful! From Randy and from Luongo especially! Great class from the Panthers community and great respect torwards them. And luongos a great speaker! No notes or anything. Can tell he really meant it.
That was difficult to get through. Luongo's conducted himself with dignity and compassion his whole career, and I'm glad it was him of all people making the speech.
I don't know anyone who was affected by this. But I can't take it... I can't see stuff like this. They didn't deserve to die. It doesn't make any sense.
Roberto Luongo has always been my favourite, on and off the ice. Great player and great person.

Gov’t had not listened much to us, if at all. We still have had horrible shootings, look at Uvalde, Buffalo, Southern CA, and all the other shootings from May last year, for instance! And no action was taken, despite the pressures.

I'm just tired of all the violence. It seems like consideration and respect and safety are ancient history. This includes and goes well beyond gun violence. It's also bullying and offensive heckling, throwing things at each other, fighting with knives and fists, road rage and driving fast in residential neighborhoods and much more. There are so many things now that are just not o.k. and are NOT no big deal.

Looking at the list of a lot of the victims here and their ages and achievements, and knowing that we basically lost 17 people who had dreams and passions and were contributing greatly to the school and community and society at large. And they are gone not just because of the shooter, but also because of the cowardice of so many police officers who decided to follow protocol instead of screwing that and going ahead to STOP THE SHOOTER! 😢
