It’s not rare at all. Everyone has that one moment in their lives that changes them forever, that they see as their before/after point. It's different for everyone, and can be good or bad. A cancer diagnosis, an actor's big break, your wedding day, a car accident, the death of a loved one, hitting rock bottom. For the nation at large, that was 9/11. For many today, it's COVID19.
As the editor of my school yearbook I know the stress of deadliness, I seriously applaud them for the effort because people do not realize how hard it can be at times.
most people do not have to deal with school shootings and losing 17 friends at ages 14-18. you clearly are underestimating everything they went through
I usually dont comment or say anything negative but i feel like i need to. this shooting is getting so much attention because it could have been prevented. And because the amazing kids from that school are trying to make a change so this won't ever happen. School shootings keep happening and yet we are doing nothing about it. Yes death is part of life and everyone is going to die eventually. But losing 17 kids to something totally preventable is something no one should have to go through. And I agree the animals and people that are killed is so horrific, but putting stricter laws on guns is something so obvious that we should have done when school shootings started happening. And no you might not sit in a corner and cry and never say anything again. And thats definitely not what these kids are doing. But death is hard, especially tragic, unexpected events like this. It takes time to grieve and get past death.
Dr.Magic 2003 you clearly dont know how hard it is to keep a sane head and remain positive in event of trauma. When I had a traumatic experience I couldn't function and ended up dropping out of school. These kids are strong for being able to carry on, especially in a place where they have to relive that traumatic event everyday where they saw people brutally MURDERED. Id be doubtful youd be talking all this shit if you saw people being murdered in front of you. Stop being an ass.
julhippo tell that to the kids that live in war torn countries. Or in bad areas in America. No one cares until it hits home. Just because most people you know do go through it, doesn’t mean it’s not something that thousands of people go through daily.

Don’t smoke weed. You don’t need to go to parties. Just have fun the way you want to in high school. Try your best studying and getting good grades, it helps if you have a 4.0 and if you want to go to a top university. Planning your future early is also good! It’s also fun joining clubs and extracurricular activities. But just be yourself. Don’t let anyone change you. Don’t be pressured to do or change yourself because of others. Always remember you are perfect and amazing the way you are right now. Stick with people who truly care about you. You can get through it! 4 years goes by super fast! Just have fun! Good luck!!
wow, this hurt so much watching this. I was personally in a school shooting myself. I go to STEM in highlands ranch, CO. this topic, it still is so scary and frightening. props to all the people on the committee and powering through.
We lost a girl my senior year of high school and we were scrambling adding pages to commemorate her, now having such a tremendous tragedy and lost in so many people must be much harder so it’s seriously amazing how well these students have risen and driven themselves to make their impact
We need more people like them in the world. It’s wonderful that they did this, and I’m proud that these high schoolers, high schoolers, are this kind-hearted and determined.
Wish people was still supporting the MSD students what had happened and now most people don't remember what had happen, this all happen 3 miles away from my school. Im just glad that people are able to move on, and keep those who had lost their family and friends in the event. Stay strong.

Much love to you Marjory Stoneman Douglas❤️
YEETED BEATED gun control isn’t the answer though. It’s mental health. That’s the real problem, not guns. By taking away guns from the law abiding citizens it will just create more crime.
I had a bad threat at my school and we had to go into lockdown and I was afraid to go to school the next day.I can’t imagine how they feel when they go into school when they actually had that event happen
I was my school's editor a decade ago. We had to redesign our book for 4 student deaths in my senior year... 3 suicides and 1 cancer. They just kept happening that year. Obviously not even comparable to what these kids went through, but I'll never forget that. We had to fight our principal to even include the suicides. I'm glad things have changed and the school embraced adding all the memorial pages. (Also holy crap, 400+ pages, yearbook is intense in the States... unfortunately it's become a lot less rigourous here in Canada since I left school but that's another topic). My heart is with this staff. Look after each other.
As the yearbook editor (only like 3 people show up bc it’s a club 😩) at my school, I know how hard it can be designing the right yearbook that your peers would love while meeting deadlines and wow they’re incredible for doing all that!!!
I remember that day we were all laughing and having fun in class and my teacher pulled up the news and the school we all knew that was just a few blocks away my friends all knew who everyone was and the kids who are trying to help and make a change are so brave and dedicated to keep at peace. I -hope- know the kids who has lost their lives can finally be at peace including the family
I hope these students know they are artists. They took tragedy and made it into art. Honestly one of the best displays of youth art I’ve ever heard of.
When they showed the pictures of the tattoos, I thought the number next to their name was their age and I was like wtf? But then I used my common sense and realised that it was their grade
As an editor for the second year in a row -5 my high school’s yearbook, it’s hard enough to report on the passing of single students or their parents, and I can’t imagine having to do this. You’re all incredibly strong and my heart goes out to you! Your book is going to be both moving and beautiful, and I’m so excited for you!
i went to a florida journalism convention a few weeks ago with my school and stoneman douglas was there and their journalist staff talked a little bit about the impact, it was hard not to cry. i really respect your dedication to this book and i hope our schools book will be half as good as this one will be.
I lost my yearbook teacher half way through the year and if we thought finishing the book then I was hard I can’t imagine what it was like in that yearbook room. The yearbook and journalist kids at that school are amazing and stronger than any one I know.
It’s so grateful and beautiful that these students are keeping these poor victims lives remembered, dedicating to finishing the yearbook, and sending out for other students to remember. This girls have a bright future because of these incredible actions. God bless the year book staff of stone man Douglas 😇🙏🏻❤️🇺🇸🦅
Bruh they all have macs and my school doesn’t even have enough working laptops or computers for each student in class lol Edit: also love the ‘As One’ concept 🙏
My school had a shooting threat. The truth didn’t get out fast enough. No one knew if a shooter was coming or not. Throughout the day other students and I were on high alert. Any sound made us jump. I felt so strange. I just felt that my whole life was about to crumble and I had to sit there and watch it. When the truth got out that no shooter was going to come I cried in relief.
Liberty Prime you’re really trying to promote your political views right now? That’s honestly sick and reflects your views and it isn’t helping your case
I use the same yearbook website as they do (Walsworth) and my teacher told me about how they were struggling to get the yearbook done. It seems horrible to have to catch up...
As head editor of my schools book this year it was a lot of stress just to get the book out. Then one of our classmates passed and I took full responsibility to make a memorial page and cried most of the time I worked on it. I can't imagine what making 17 would be like...props to you guys for taking that on. -From one editor to another
why not say "the shooter"? any kid that has the same thoughts can see this guys name and face being shown and now they think, "oh I can do this too and everyone will know who I am".
kids who don't care if they die now see that if they kill 17 kids that their name and face will be shown, they see articles of fan mail given to the shooter, they see tumbler pages romanticizing mass murderers, the shooters brother was caught telling him about how "everyone is talking about you and the shooting", they turned this into columbine v2 by making a lot of people know about the shooter and the shooting its self.
I honestly want one of these yearbooks just because of how much hard work was put into it and how much these means to not only the high school, but the country.
You have a testimony my heart hurts for the ones who were lost but my heart smiles for the great souls who took something away from this awful event. These kids are genuine you can tell they are headed towRds great things by one interview

I know, and it was the hardest to see his girlfriend in those pictures planning on giving him a gift for Valentine's day, it must be SO, SO hard to carry on after such a tragic event! :(
the rose tattoo made me cry!
This is beautiful. I’m so sorry for everything that happened to you. I watched this all on the news on my 18th birthday
They should sell the yearbooks to public and whoever want one that would be cool bcs I would buy one
Jasmine Haule that’s quite an evasion remember there still humans and this will be sharing there personal lives but GOOD idea !!
thats so morbid
Jasmine Haule same
Why?? This is something sentimental that shouldn’t be for commercial use smh.
Jasmine Haule pedophiles would buy them each year. Good idea that could serve really badly
i hope this tragic event will only make these students stronger
I read a book called Parkland Speaks that was poems and stories written by students and teachers at MSD. It was heartbreaking and I recommend it
I just can't imagine what they're going through. One person at my school died this year and it changed my life, I can't imagine 17.
All those kids are amazing and their yearbook is going to be amazing send everyone love cause right now we all need love ❤️
I have a friend when she lived in Florida she was in the elementary of that school but she wasn’t there at the time
Animation Erin thats a high school-
No the elementary of that school
¿
@@pebblel2279 her friends were in elementary school and the homeschool of that elementary school was the HS being talked about here if that helps at all (probably doesn't but oh well)
Wholesome Potato シ Like a feeder school the kids from the elementary go to the middle school then the middle schoolers go to the high school so basically her friend went to the feeder elementary
It's crazy that the student and staff went back, I mean even just walking down the corridor or being in a classroom could spark flashbacks to that horrible day.
This is just awesome that people care that much about other people. Those girls could make a giant difference in this cruel world. Even if I'm only 11 and I havent reached highschool, and I dont know how how hard high school is, they are my inspiration,Keep going girls. (Sorry if I took this too far, this is just awesome)
Elle Buonomo high school is fun. Smoke weed, party, get laid (occasionally). Only downside is a shit ton of work and exams.... topped with Asshole teachers
Language geez,if you didn't read I'm only 11 😅😂
Don’t smoke weed. Good luck!!
This has me thinking of my school, you guys are so brave. I attend high school in Jamaica and these kids really made an impact on my life.
1:39 “ I want to cry :( “
Well that’s a mood
wow, this hurt so much watching this. I was personally in a school shooting myself. I go to STEM in highlands ranch, CO. this topic, it still is so scary and frightening. props to all the people on the committee and powering through.
Anyone else find it weird that their deadline to turn in their yearbook is on the anniversary of Columbine?
APRIL 20TH!! is the anniversary of Columbine
frylock456 it’s also 420
No
Mike Fournier buddy uu gud?
frylock456 no its not
3:50 yes queen i see that chihiro painting

I thought you meant Dangan Romps smh
Can y’all focus on the actual point of this video.
pretty.odd. teen SAME LMAO
pretty.odd. teen Same, I was thinking about the Danganronpa Chihiro
We lost a girl my senior year of high school and we were scrambling adding pages to commemorate her, now having such a tremendous tragedy and lost in so many people must be much harder so it’s seriously amazing how well these students have risen and driven themselves to make their impact
I have a friend who went here. She cries whenever someone brings a school shooting up.
Stay strong.
wow i remember when dwyane wade wrote Guacs first and last name on his shoe & when he retired from the NBA, Guacs sister expressed how much he means to their family for acknowledging their pain and seeing them! 🥺
i like how this popped up in my recommended like a day after my school got a shooting threat..
This is so inspirational. I hope the book comes out perfect
It hit different when the sign to “Guac” Saigon he will never graduate
As a fellow yearkookie, there’s nothing I can relate to more than the rushing a deadline and trying to do justice for the stories in the school.
Stay strong YB! You guys can do it!
I’m our school yearbook we had an MSD section where it commemorated all the victims. We had this in our yearbook since our school is only 40 minutes away from Stoneman Douglas. “Too close to home”
I was in yearbook for two years and had to do pages of people who committed suicide. Even that was hard BUT I can’t even imagine doing 17 pages for the classmates I lost. Wow. Kudos to this loving yb staff
A girl in 6th grade at my school died:(
I cant deny im crying god bless the families who have lost their children❤️🙏
Woooohooooo!! Y’all got this & we’ve got y’all, Stonemans 💜 My family is beyond thankful for how far all of you have come & we hope our son & the children of our community can absorb that determined strength & courage we see in each of your faces! You’ve got 17 sweet faced, innocent angels willing you to succeed & they’re going to be so stoked to see the outcome of your hard work. AMAZING vibes & unconditional love sent from my family to yours!
As someone who worked for my school's yearbook its so amazing they can do this because I know how hard it is to make those deadlines.
You guys will make the deadline, I know it. With your hard work and the amount and level of dedication you guys have put forth and continue to bring, you’ll get it done. This is an amazing, beautiful thing that you’re doing. Keep being the wonderful, amazing, inspirational people you are. Together we and countless other millennials are going to change the world.
Much love to you Marjory Stoneman Douglas❤️
This is so sad that this high school has to go through this bless all of ur souls
I hope they continue fighting and never stop there needs to be GUN CONTROL FOR PEOPLES SAFETY AND WELL BEING
YEETED BEATED gun control isn’t the answer though. It’s mental health. That’s the real problem, not guns. By taking away guns from the law abiding citizens it will just create more crime.
I would have so much anxiety if my high school ever had a school shooting. Scary, and I really look up to these girls.
I'm scared for this to happen to me or just to happen again
“What a long strange trip its been”
i went to a florida journalism convention a few weeks ago with my school and stoneman douglas was there and their journalist staff talked a little bit about the impact, it was hard not to cry. i really respect your dedication to this book and i hope our schools book will be half as good as this one will be.
I knew some and it’s so sad 😭 but you know what they are doing is amazing
Aryana Villa sure you did. You also blew your teacher.
I lost my yearbook teacher half way through the year and if we thought finishing the book then I was hard I can’t imagine what it was like in that yearbook room. The yearbook and journalist kids at that school are amazing and stronger than any one I know.
Wow they got Macs in that school, my school has slow computers
as a yearbook staff, i understand how much work it is to create each page and each individual spread. awesome work 👏 i applaud everyone
Having to say they’re the first school to do this after a shooting says something about our society
What?
It’s so grateful and beautiful that these students are keeping these poor victims lives remembered, dedicating to finishing the yearbook, and sending out for other students to remember. This girls have a bright future because of these incredible actions. God bless the year book staff of stone man Douglas 😇🙏🏻❤️🇺🇸🦅
Bruh they all have macs and my school doesn’t even have enough working laptops or computers for each student in class lol
Edit: also love the ‘As One’ concept 🙏
luxury-reject same lmaooo
Lol my school has the same macs in the ART room but we have Mac books in the COMPUTER LABS! And chrome books in the classrooms?
I hope when they’re graduate they’re all still be Connected with each other, I hope that they’re don’t lost their friendship .
This is so incredibly sad. I wish this never happened.
“Is Obama president again?”
“Yes”
😂
yallitsfay vote for the republicans, Democrats will ruin this country
Liberty Prime are you dumb? Do you not understand what caused the shooting in this video? Or is this some kind of bit.
Liberty Prime you’re really trying to promote your political views right now? That’s honestly sick and reflects your views and it isn’t helping your case
@@connor4151 Bullying? Mental illness?
I just found this but like it made me cry so much, like when it said my dear friend will never get to say "I graduated"
I use the same yearbook website as they do (Walsworth) and my teacher told me about how they were struggling to get the yearbook done. It seems horrible to have to catch up...
Amazing dedication. Hats off to you. I loved my time on yearbook committee. Wish I could help. Would love to see the end result.
Utterly amazing, beautiful, young adults.
As head editor of my schools book this year it was a lot of stress just to get the book out. Then one of our classmates passed and I took full responsibility to make a memorial page and cried most of the time I worked on it. I can't imagine what making 17 would be like...props to you guys for taking that on. -From one editor to another
imagine your family member dies in a school shooting and videos and news stations keep saying the killers name.
The killers name isn’t said as a praise, it’s facts, they aren’t going to call him ‘the shooter’.
why not say "the shooter"? any kid that has the same thoughts can see this guys name and face being shown and now they think, "oh I can do this too and everyone will know who I am".
coleson kids watching this see him as a murder. I don’t think they’d want to be seen the same way, his name being in the public is a constant shaming.
kids who don't care if they die now see that if they kill 17 kids that their name and face will be shown, they see articles of fan mail given to the shooter, they see tumbler pages romanticizing mass murderers, the shooters brother was caught telling him about how "everyone is talking about you and the shooting", they turned this into columbine v2 by making a lot of people know about the shooter and the shooting its self.
A beautiful tribute of love, courage & strength~ We will never forget those who lost their lives...gone too soon!
Out of curiosity, I wonder if they omit Nikolas Cruz from the yearbook.
Nik wasn't a student this year. Last year he was expelled so he wouldn't be in the year book anyways.
dumb edits oh, that's right! I forgot about that. Thanks for clarifying!
Haha no problem
I hope they got it done in time
I love these kids
I honestly want one of these yearbooks just because of how much hard work was put into it and how much these means to not only the high school, but the country.
dang bro they got all them apple computers and my school over here broke😂😂
Its Ya Girl Brie lmao what type of school doesn’t use Apple computers? 💀
Same 😂 I’m at a ‘rich’ school and we just get chromebooks lol
You have a testimony my heart hurts for the ones who were lost but my heart smiles for the great souls who took something away from this awful event. These kids are genuine you can tell they are headed towRds great things by one interview
RIP Parkland Victims
#march4ourlives
Never forget
Wow, so much work that they had to do. I'm in yearbook and reaching deadlines is so difficult (luckily the book is done now). I praise them very much❤❤
