I looked at so many videos trying to understand this but when i saw that you posted one i knew you would actually explain it in a way that makes sense.
U hard asf bro real talk!! I didn’t know nothing about mixing I just purchased my recording eq and starting watching your videos now I’m Mixing Ninja 🥷🏾
best explanation of how to side chain ever … this also helps understand how threshold and ratio work in general, esp on mix buss / master buss … great work wavywayne
i just watched the side chain video Wavy Wayne you're the man i appreciate you so much Ive been dealing with the bass fighting against the kick for the longest i applied the side chain exactly as shown and im blown away ive gotten your mixing presets they're on point also
like always Wavy Wane your the man and im always gonna use these techniques to improve my mixes till next time bruh keep the love up and i most deff got to go get a pair of you ear phone more support to ya bruh.
I loved the video. I've been working on this technic and you helped me kind of understand it a little more by explaining what my controls are doing. Thanks.
when sidechaining using a plugin like Trackspacer, is there a way to use a Stereo Bus as the input? Because i don"t see how a mono signal being sent to Trackspacer will allow it to perform the advanced features (Mid/Side, L/R)
Arggh. Every time I think I have sidechaining figured out, I run into a new snag. So I followed your instructions, but I have multiple instrument tracks going to the instrument bus and three vocal tracks going to the vocal bus. Problem is, I have an effects send (reverb sent to 3-4) on several of the tracks. When I set up the sidechaining as you've described, I can only hear what's going through the reverb send! I'm on a MacBook air running Pro Tools Artist Subscription. Any idea why my reserves sends are all I can hear?
WE NEED A VIDEO ON HOW TO CONTROL AND MIX HOME RECORDINGS.....I SEE SOME ON UA-cam BUT THEY ALL HAVE GOOD RECORDINGS AND/OR TOP NOTCH PLUG-INS TO HELP THEM INSTEAD OF A TUTORIAL USING A MUDDY HOME RECORDING AND STOCK PLUGINS...
Thank you so much Wayne for your help my mixed down turned out pretty good friend of mine did all the mixing sense for me listen to my new single on the seed group is the seed group Podcast like subscribe rainbow subscribe ring the bell share with family and friends appreciate
Hey, in your "most misunderstood terms..." vid you actually never touched on the real ones ))) Namely, "print" , "print track", "2-bus", " stems" vs. "track-outs", "parallel processing"...etc. These are the biggest culprits, causing a lot of confusion. Good idea for your next video. Be well)
Bruh - this is the most articulate and well-explained side-chain demo I’ve ever seen and heard. 👍🏾
Seriously!
your my favorite audio engineer on the planet bro :) thanks for all you do, much Love Homie

شكرا جزيلا صديقي
Great video Wavy. Thanks
Im was lost pretty much after the compressor do all that attenuation. Which video of yours would help me understand what your showing here?

I just got some crazy jewels from this video about rounding off the knee when compressing!!!
Love your work
So useful. Thanks!
Thanks for this. Well explained.
Thanks Wayne
Wavy I'm definitely appreciative of your lessons. Question: Should you make the send pre-fader?
STL represent!!!
Had to come here to learn this 💯
this video helped a lot, preciate it
Thank you man!!!
is there a difference if you send the sc to a track vs a buss? not sure if it applies in logic? thanks
Lets get it! 🤟🏾🙏🏾💯
Im guessing the same process can be applied to reverbs and delays?
I LIKE THIS, IS THAT ALL WHAT SIDE CHAIN CAN DO?
🔥stream
Чувак, ты крутой!
Би доуп!
Can the signal or sending of the s/c only be used in (mono) from the keys of a plugin? in pro tools
In most DAWs you don’t need a bus. You could just assign the vocal track as the key input and you’re done.
This is the first time I’ve ever understood side chaining 😅

Amazing
thanks man, what do you do when you're parallel compressing the bass and kick? would you have to do it to the doubled tracks as well? Thanks man
Wayne.wav may i ask if thats a racer chair
I see the zig zags in the back 💯
Thanks
Do you or do you not mute the aux buss?
Does anyone know if he has a Compression tutorial??
Yes, he does.

I've noticed A LOT of people confuse sends/buses with parallel processing, and likewise, they confuse parallel processing with sidechaining.
he basically explained how trackspacer works with stock plugins.
Not even close. Trackspacer attenuates frequencies like an EQ, where as compression attenuates amplitude.
@@HazyJ28 i stand corrected. thought trackspacer was a side chain multiband compressor
Yo wavy‼️🫡Do you compress on the way in or in post?
