great video jacob. already familiar with this technique but this was a very clear and concise demonstration of it. the track had a great pocket to be able to hear the reverb and delay tails so it was a great choice for this demo. subbed and looking forward to future videos. have a nice weekend friend

Yep, that's right! I put the compressor on the reverb auxiliary, which is sidechain from a different bus on the same source track. This makes it so the compressor compresses the vocal level, but on the auxiliary track with the reverb!
you have to understand compressions to understand this video. If you don't have a clear understanding of how compressions work then you watching the wrong video.

I don’t get this I’ve been trying to to do it forever but when I get to the compressor I’m unable to choose a bus for it.
I had to use mono plugins then I could select the bus issue solved
