To resolve the issue with that really long belt on your vest, don’t use the metal loop. Instead tie with a side bow as if that buckle isn’t there.

Assuming the belt is a synthetic material, I would cut it at a diagonal, at the length that you want. You can burn the edge with a lighter, gently squeezing with your fingertips to keep the "cauterized" edge at the slimness that you prefer, as it can become a tiny bit poofy. Usually, it's not that hot to the touch, surprisingly. Thanks for the vlog, your family seems so sweet. Maybe brother will do a Q&A video? I wanna hear the stories of his tatoos! :D

If you like the buckle look, I'd recommend doing a careful measurement to the first side loop and add about 2" (you want to be able to have room if you have a big meal!). Then, I would likely take it to a tailor for a belt size adjustment. You CAN do it yourself, but it might be nerve-racking. I would do my careful measurements - stick out your tummy and think about how cinched you want the belt to be. Then I would cut the belt (!) and I finish the raw edge with a flame lighter to singe the raw edge closed. This trick is great on any kind of ribbon (natural or synthetic) edge when you don't want it to fray. Try this trick out on a ribbon a few times so that you feel comfortable with it, before doing the deed. Good luck!
The tailor might want to hem the raw edge, which might not look as clean as the suggestion with singeing. It is very important to singe the edge LIGHTLY, so that it is just enough to seal the raw edge.

@@ChaseAmie Lucky! I live in an isolated town of about 40K and it takes 3.5 hours to drive to the next larger town of 160K. 8 hours if I want to get to a proper city!
We were at the CG hotel at the same time as you I think. It’s so lovely although I noticed this time that the staff that have been there for years have left and we didn’t recognise anyone, it affects the service in brasserie max a lot. Still a great place but it’s a shame that the staff didn’t remember us like before 😕
