I think curtains would be lovely in that space. They would frame your vanity really nicely when open.
The red Prada bag is so pretty 😍
Amie your house looks beautiful. The trees are so pretty and this vlog was just so nice to watch. Thanks
It was a nice video. The variety was a nice change. I had no problem with the "mishmash" as you called it.
I would definitely go for Roman blinds; they have some of the softness of curtains without being too voluminous. If you're thinking of having a cover built on the radiator long curtains would further restrict heat. The blinds could be fixed either to the ceiling or high on the wall so that when they are pulled up fully they will entirely clear the window; from the point of view of cutting out light at night you simply have them lined. Easy! :)
Loved every minute of it! Merry Christmas🎄
Beautiful home and decorations. I think the wreath size is perfect. Thank you for sharing with us. Happy Holidays!
Put in an easy up/down solar shade that it recessed and next to window (could be offwhite to match paint or coordinated with your roman shade.) This will provide a little insulation, privacy as well as sun protection on your vanity and contents. Then overlay that with your decorative roman shade (could either be recessed too or pulled out and put up to the ceiling and slightly wider than opening. When pulled down, when want better sun protection, privacy etc. it will just come down to your window sill. I wouldn't put floor length curtains as would not be purposeful and a hassle to use as wouldn't want to shut them in front of radiator or be behind the vanity. And agree, don't like short curtains either which would be the only realistic alternative.
Nice change to your usual vlogs. Merry Christmas Amie! 🎄
I love everything 😍😍😍 your videos make me happy!
Your vlog put me in a good mood today. thanks for sharing. You have a lovely home :)
What about white wood blinds. They are easy to lift up and down.
Love your style and you vidéos as usual ! May I ask where did you get the makeup table please ? thanks
Hi Amie, your decorations look lovely. How about white box shutters for your dressing room window xxx
Your home 🏡 looks so Lovely and Festive🎄
Love your videos 😍 Amazing taste 👍🏻and great ideas 💡 Happy holidays 🙏🏻🎁🛍🎄☃️❣️❣️❣️🇨🇦
I loved this! Really put me in the festive mood, thanks for sharing
Hi Amie! Congrats on your beautiful home again! Can you share where does you/Dan get the black standing mat for the laptop workstation please?
Your new home is coming along beautifully ! Great job with the Christmas decorations ❤️
I’m with you on the floor length curtains, they just look more classy. Given I live in a warm part of Australia & don’t have the need to know anything about permanent heating (it only gets cold for a few days per year here), wouldn’t the radiator (or any radiator below a window) damage full length curtains? I see it a lot in European videos & I’ve always wondered.
They never get hot enough to damage curtains
Hi, Amie! I can't believe I'm first, I don't think I've ever been first. Everything is so beautiful ❤️. I think the wreath frames your window nicely. Merry Christmas to you and Dan and your Mom.
Always love your fashion videos/hauls!! All of the tops are suuuper cute! Can I ask where the polka dot sweater you're wearing is from?
Ahh it's an old Black Friday purchase from Loft a couple of years ago!
Where is white and gold desk from?
Your new closet is beautiful but your bags seem to be disjointed in two different spaces. I think you should get the taller shelves (like you have for your shoes) so the bags can be together.
Where is your purse shelf from?...been following you for a while, first comment. Love love love all your content!
IKEA! :)
House looks lovely and warm!
About the colours of the tops- I would recommend watching closet confessions by Trinny Woodall on here- she's absolutely brilliant when it comes to working out which tones of colours work with what skin tones and the rest of here videos are binge worthy!!!
Nice... put curtain instead of blinds so that the lights don't cut in.
I like long Curtains x
I think long curtains would give your dressing room a more luxurious feel. You could add a roll blind in the window- they don’t take up as much window when they are open.
Love the Christmas decorations! It would be nice to see a makeup collection video.
Great video. Please do a review or what fits in your longchamp travel tote? Especially a video of how you got rid of your pigmentation mine are bad please.
❤️
Your home looks absolutely beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
Your decorations are great, my favorite is the garland on the stairs! How wonderful that your Mum is staying with you! Take care! 👩🏻🍳🤗
Omg! Your house is really coming alone! The xmas decors are cute, the closet is cute, the tree is cute, Dan is cute, everything is cute and wonderful and chrismassy! 🥰
I wish you'd do more vlogs, I like how natural you are when doing vlogs. Btw, your house looks amazing. And those blouses look so good on you! 💓
Double dress the window for a luxe feel - do roman blinds with full length curtains. I've done this with my windows.
I think curtains would look fussy. I like the clean lines of blinds. In the meantime, are you concerned about your handbags being in direct sunlight?
We have White shutters, but because of your view, you can do nice roller blinds if you plan to have the natural lights in and have it up. I like all your tops, the green one is my favourite 🤗💕
LOVE THE SPACE! Question about your gold/glass shelving unit. Do you feel it is high maintenance? I’m concerned I’ll have to clean and dust the glass more often than I’d like. I am looking at a similar unit to store my handbags but I am concerned about maintaining the glass.
Ah your home looks beautiful! Enjoyed this vlog. Was really looking forward to Dan's gift guide this year but totally understand how busy you guys are. Glad to hear that your Christmas tree business is thriving!
Love how you decorated your house and I think that the door wreath is just the perfect size. Regarding your window dressing, I would suggest roller blinds. Maybe a double roller blind. One sheer to let light in and a blockout, if you get afternoon sun in that room, but also to blockout the heat/cold
Absolutely stunning!!-the decor and the haul! When it comes to Christmas, one can NEVER have too many lights or too big of a wreath! Amiright, Amie? 😉😂🎄🎄
Hi Aimie! Your home is looking so beautiful! I love all your Christmas decorations and the views from all the windows in the house! I also love your haul, so perfect❤️
Love the simplicity of your Xmas decor. Your flooring 😍 always like your fresh Xmas tree. Been wanting to buy the Prada reissued nylon bag
Thanks for posting, your trees look great. Would love to see a complete tour of the house one day. Happy holidays!
Christmas decor looks great! Your home is so bright and beautiful!!
I really enjoyed this video. Roman blinds would do a good job but have you considered plantation shutters? they can be pricey but they also fold away &/or open up the whole window. It kind of is a Hampton inspired look :) Hope you, Dan & your mum have a good Xmas amie xx
Hey dear
Not sure if you’ll see this, but I am just in the process of decorating my own house. You can put some Blackout blinds and Roman blinds over them to add a bit of texture/ personality. I am not sure long curtains would be good because of the radiator.
I hope that helps
X
For the window treatment, blinds would be the easier option. Long curtains or curtains in general may look odd for short / wide windows. Here is a link for an idea - www.selectblinds.com/rollershades/premium-flat-roller-shades.html?ColorId=2575
Very pretty! 👌🏻💕🧣🍾 Merry Christmas!🎁🎄
Əla👍✌
What sweater do you wear? Gray with white polka dot 7:29
Loved seeing things come together, everything looks lovely!
Where’d you get that cute gray polka dot top?!
Hello. Can I ask where your dressing table is from please?
It's this one :) bit.ly/3mi8T6b
I like your hair like that.
Very nice video❤️❤️❤️
I’ve always loved those makeup cubes! I may consider one for my filming space when we move again!
I did not even think about a hook for the wreath! Can I ask where you got it from? Thank you.
You can get them just about anywhere you get Christmas decorations. I think we got ours at home depot.
Loved your video as always, you always have such great content. I also did a Christmas video where I was decorating...lol if you have time come check it out. Merry Christmas may you and your family have a wonderful holiday!
Enjoying your Christmas tree decorating. Love it. 💕
loving the Xmas decorations and progress in the house! I think roller or roman blinds would be better by the vanity instead of curtains x
I think it looks great with the gold shelves!! It even goes with the little dresser!
1st💜💜💜
Have you considered shades made of jute or other grasses? They are soft and thin and still let some light in when down and come in a range of colors and textures. You can order sample swatches. Here’s an example (shade linked at bottom of post): www.sawnailandpaint.com/2019/07/04/bedroom-refresh-for-summer/
Oh, and happy holidays!
I really LOVE your new home......especially the kitchen, congrats!!!💕🌷💖💕🌷💖 Beautiful Christmas tree and decorations too!!! 💖💕❤️💖💕❤️
I love how you’re not over the top and decorate within reason and that we can relate to x
I’d calk the color of the tie-cuff sweater cerise.
Looks, really nice your holiday decorations.😻 I think you should get, slightly dark curtains. To protect your items from sunlight trust me. Happy Holidays 🎅🎄
Amie, what a wonderful Christmas decoration you and Dan did in your beautiful house. I am looking for a vanity, hoping I can find something similar to your vanity. The colors of your make up looks amazing inside your make up organization. Well done!
Roller blinds from mecho shade systems would be lovely, you can get different opening percentages to still be able to see out, but block the light and have privacy from the outside :)
Hi Amie, I’m a long time subscriber and have always loved watching your Christmas vlogs. I got a little emotional at the end of this one knowing that this is your first Christmas in your beautiful new home. You and Dan are a lovely couple, and it’s so kind of you guys to let your mom stay with you awhile. I can’t wait to see your Christmas vlog.
Love your trees and Christmas decorations! In general, how do you protect your bags from sunlight damage without sacrificing the natural lighting in your room? I've always loved the way you display your bags and want to do something similar, but I'm wary of fading and discoloration from uneven exposure to sunlight. Have you noticed anything like that with your bags over the years? I think it's such a shame to keep bags in their dust bags (and also such an inconvenience!). I don't want to keep my room in perpetual darkness, but I also don't know how to display my bags without them becoming lighter on one side (left vs right, front vs back, etc.). How do you safeguard against this? Thanks for any tips or tricks you might have! Edited to say: I mean aside from curtains, because I've tried lighter curtains (like lace), which don't block out light, and heavier curtains, which leave my room too dark (defeats the purpose of having a naturally lit bag display).
Hi Amy, yours & Dan's decorations look beautiful. Can you tell me the maker of the Navy shirt that is similar to your new Red top? I love the Navy top.
Such a beautiful home you guys have! And wow, wait - I have been following you for 6 years now??? I remember that flat and the vanity organiser you got
Great "mishmash"! Plantation shutters for windows, wreath not too big, decor gorgeous, gold shelf unit looks like a store display 😬 sorry 😘
Shutters are fab, look beautiful especially with the panelling your going to do in the room. Also, shutters add value to your home!
Love your style. Re blinds, have you considered white plantation shutters? I have them and they are stylish, really easy to maintain and won’t block too much light. X
A fix for the floppy garland - you can hang a heavy ornament from the back side, long enough that you could see it from the front side. It will add an extra weight at the back and will keep the garland in nice position ;) happy holidays! Love how your home looks!
Your tree looks wonderful and you can’t have too many lights. Have you considered Luxaflex Facette blinds? Something a bit different to a Roman blind as they can give you as much light or privacy as you need. I hope you all have a wonderful first Christmas in your new home 🌸
So beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Happy Holidays to you are your entire family.
Amie, you can use curtains. I would extend the rod along the wall, and keep the curtains on either side. In that way you can keep your lovely view and when needed, just pull the curtains across for privacy. It would also make your space look bigger.
Amie, I don’t know if you are planning on having kids, but I’ve just learned the hard way that when we have kids our shoes size changes! I lost all my shoes. My twins are 6months old now. ♥️♥️♥️ As you are a shoe lover, I’m telling you this so you can plan your investiments pretty well!
Hi Amie hunny bunny😘 I think a full set of curtains may really be overwhelming in your space. What about shutters? The gold shelf with your handbags is a keeper. It's just enough of a pop that you need in the space. I want all the festive tops, especially that green one. Is your mom going to be living with you all permanently now? Sorry, hope that's not too intrusive. I wasn't my intent. I hope all the parents are well💕🌷
Hello! Loving your new home and congrats :) just wondering where your wreath and garland are from please? Xx
I would probably go blinds (to shut out the light) and curtains (to dress the window). I always think the combo looks really smart. I’d avoid long curtains given you have the dresser in front of the window and the bag shelving unit next to it to avoid it feeling cluttered. Love the Garland on the stairs. Are you able to share a link of where you got it from?
Wow, love this video. Ur house is so beautiful with detail touches to it. Xmas decorations are very beautiful too. I've always love watching all ur videos no matter what the subject is about. Thanks for sharing this video and updating us.
Your home looks fabulous. The Christmas 🎄 are stunning ❤️❤️
Hi ! Could you tell me which colour of Gucci powder (the blue one) you have ? I have pale olive skin and ca, not choose between n° 1-2- or 3 :-). Kind regards !
Your house is coming along really well and looks fantastic with the Christmas decorations. I have several types of window coverings in my house and I would recommend a vertical blind in the window of your wardrobe room in the same colour as the walls. I did that in my kitchen and it makes the space look bigger, plus it gives you total control over how much light you want to let into the room and where you want to direct it. In the kitchen I angle the slats to direct the light into the cooking area and away from the tv, which can be damaged by bright light, just like handbags.
For the window maybe get long curtains to just dress the window. I think you wil have trouble closing the curtains because of your dressing table. And then some sort of blind to actually use on the window. And the gold unit looks good i think if you have shelving on that wall room might feel smaller. 😀
Wow! I have that same CeCe sweater in the berry color. Isn't it the cutest? It's light enough to wear in the spring as well. Good luck with your decorating! I finally finished mine.
Also I should qualify for your next giveaway since I am helping you with how to solve the issue of the toilet😏
“Perfect fit blinds” might be another option for your closet window. Until you get window coverings, I would move your makeup out of the way of the sunlight, also if you turn that radiator on, that’s no good for your makeup either.
I would definitely do full length silk drapes on the window and have them puddle on floor. I think they would frame the window and your dressing table beautifully and add a bit more glamour to the room.
The decorations look amazing! Just like a magazine spread
You should put tension rod and inexpensive curtain so you don’t have to show the toilet during your videos😉
How beautiful everything is looking, Amie. Thank you for sharing! Christmas spirit is up again. 🥰
Beautiful!
What is that song playing as you decorate the tree? It is really fun
