Studying ICM will help you a lot in the future. K9o is a fold pre when especially btn flats. And post flop although effective stacks are low you should never shove there. Big bet on a 3 way pot it's super polarized. When facing such bets you either call or fold. Raising with a medium strength hand doesn't accomplish anything. Opponent will fold his bluffs and whatever calls you is ahead of K9..

    • @gnoel5722
      @gnoel5722 6 місяців тому +7

I agree with your assessment post flop but there is no world where K9 is not a call against a single mid/late position raise and a call when you are chip leader on the BB... tough I prefer a raise-fold to put max ICM pressure, I am never folding there.

@@gnoel5722 You have to remember he is calling against 2nd in chip lead. I agree that it is a call against short stacks, but Frankie showed 4 hands in a row when he was chip lead playing against 2nd in chips. Studying ICM would have never let this happen with K9o.

@@gnoel5722 In terms of theory its an easy fold 3 way so deep in a tournament. Opening and flatting ranges of second in chips and meddle stacks are changing dramatically if opponents understand even a little bit ICM. When being a cheap leader you take advantage by opening wider not cold calling multiway pop with super dominated hands but it's quite an advanced concept and let's say a smaller mistake compared to the punt he did post flop...

Some lunatic hands going on. I played a lot of cash games with Asians at the Palms, they blast with both barrels in every hand. It's great if you're running good but the stress and pressure is incredible. Also 15 away from the money isn't bubbling. IMO, fwiw, you're pushing too much. When they lose to you they lose part of their stack. When they beat you they get ALL your chips. They just have to be patient and wait for their spot.

  • @founik

I think I wouldn't call K9o 3way pre. You are chip-leading and there's another big stack involved. You don't wanna fight another bigstack with marginal hands if you don't have to.
And if I called, I'm likely folding a flop, cuz he bets big into two ppl and the other guy calls whilst knowing he is in the middle of sandwich, so that may signal some strength as well.
It may sound "money-scared", but that would be my approach, especially if you need to make money in order to provide for your family. There's a high chance some other players will bust out, if you will play a bit more passive. So even if you would blind out or everything would have gone terrible, I think you could have ended up the 7th place at least.
Edit: Geez, ppl, I'm talking just about this very specific situation. I'm not giving general advice. So please, don't hammer me.

Going all in with king 9 off suit was a BAD move in my opinion. If the guy wanted the pot, he should’ve just called the 200,000 bet. His poker skills are pretty good, but he needs to chill on the all-in moves 😂😂

Ya the AQo hand with 2 levels left. The check raise by him on flop is standard if he wants to seem strong as he will have a lot of mid pairs and Ax in tht spot. But since you have 3 of the aces accounted for you can be fairly certain he ether has the case A with a weak kicker like A5 or just a mid pair like 55,66,77,99 I think 88 in tht spot would just call the check raise would not make sense if he had 88. The turn actually is more your range then his so your jam after he bets out awesome play there.

Stop making the dumb ALL-IN BETS with a small pair. Your a good player. I've been playing poker since I'm 16yrs old.

I know you're trying to play aggressive, but when you're up against the second biggest stack, you don't go all in. You just play it out. Always leave yourself outs. Only go all in against him when you have the nuts. I feel like that was just a coin flip situation because you had no idea what he had. And a coin flip at that level is (no offense) just dumb. Play the long game when you get to that level. You can afford to wait, so wait.

to aggressive, putting whole stack at risk with marginal hands. need to learn to read people instead of just playing your cards. never win much just playing your cards. sometimes you need to fold pocket queens or kings. for sure need to fold small pairs more then you do pocket 2s pocket 8 even as high as pocket jacks. jacks can be a killer.

I know that Queen hand ended up working out but if that doesn't show you a major problem with your tournament play I don't know what will. STOP GOING ALL IN WHEN YOU DON"T NEED TO! You could have seen that same flop without going all in and pushed all in and he still would have called you with those aces.
Of course maybe I am just talking out of my ass. I am not a pro poker player.

Dude.. just started watching but it’s been interesting.. but 1st question is- how do u prevent people from knowing how u play based on ur videos and commentary?
    2) Why not make videos of kitty playing and u supporting her?
As a guy twice ur age who’s been playing poker for a while, I don’t think ur cut out for it yet (or at least not to be viewed on video) .. but it’s good to get that experience from such a young age! Big respect on that! But I’d suggest u use ur math skills at blackjack and build up ur bankroll.. (if u wanna keep playing poker).. it’s slower but you’ll definitely be more consistent in ur earnings.. and providing diapers and milk for ur baby!
Poker is a lot more than just math and statistics… u need to experience life and people.. then you’ll get better at spotting tells..

Why do you keep going ALL in with NOTHING in your hand? That is the definition of 'No Strategy Gambling'. You are basically going to the table and 'praying'. SMH. Sorry to say, but you really do suck at this.

When you're chip leader, there's only one change of direction. You never play large bets with the largest chip stacks... utter madness. Allin (K9) when you have nowhere near the nuts is a suicidal move. That cost you a final table place and significant pay jumps. You didn't need to get involved. (why?) You play way too many weak hands.

K9! Flop a pair vs 2 other players! Big bet. Shove! LoL! Few bad moves but that one was on another level. You could’ve easily finished top 3 if you just laid back and let the tournament play itself! I mean play little conservatively!

Had k9, other dude raises and you don't even consider the two diamonds in the flop and focus on just your pair of 9s. Seriously? You had 47 BB WASTED. 🤦‍♀️
