I'm impressed with your resilience Brit of how you can adapt to your environment not complaining too much and make do of the little things you got. 👍 fantastic guy.
You dont have any idea how much you made us happy (me and my wife) while watching your video. There are some sort of unexplainable feelings whenever someone like you would appreciate our simple life here in bicol. You are a good person with a big heart.
Love the video :) have the same chats with my wife and she says yes, and she doesnt know what i was talking about, it can be funny at times when you look back at it.
Well Chris looks like you need a bit more training behind the counter but I'm sure you'll get there. great video keep up the work you're living the dream 😎.

Hi Anthony,if you are divorced then you need your original divorce certificate,an NBI clearance and a clearance from our Embassy to tell the Philippine Government that you can legally marry and obviously your passport.
A Brit in the Philippines Chris Wren Hi Chris.I am a divorced man.If I ever wanted to get married to a Philipeana would you suggest getting clearance from British Embassy while still in UK.Also you said you need original certificate...do you mean the actual court order because you don't get a certificate as such you get a court order saying you marriage is dissolved. Finally what is the NBI clearance. Did you take all this documentation when you first went to Philippines with the presumption that you might get married to a Philipeana. Great vlogs....keep up the good work.
Hi David, yes, but only if it is more convenient to do so and yes you need all the paperwork that relates to your divorce. An NBI clearance is a PNP clearance which you can only have done here.I always say it's best to have it and not need it then need it and not have it. Hope this helps.
A Brit in the Philippines Chris Wren Hi Chris Thank you for prompt reply.I can just imagine that the British Embassy here in UK would tell me to come back when I am actually going to get married...so might be just as easy to wait til I know I am going to get married. My girlfriend lives in Cebu.I think there maybe a British Embassy in Cebu.I really enjoy you vids Chris.
I have some question .. why a lot of male foreign people loves the philippines as there retiring place.. how about those woman ? Do they just left alone on your country because what ive known is if you are old,on your country nobody will take good care for you,, but in philippines is different if you are old we took good care for any old one member of us. ....

Hello Brit in the Philippines, I like what you are doing ..👍 can I make a suggestion, Do you think you could ask your take away food customers to take their bowls with them when they come to buy the cooked meals, the reason I ask is to minimise plastic waste, seems that that they live nearby..
Chris, Have you tried storing your gimbal in a small bag of rice? I've used that trick after running over my cell phone with my truck which crushed it into the snow. I had "running water" in the case when I opened it up to remove the battery. After a night in some rice, all of the moisture was gone and the phone worked just fine.
i enjoy your vids with your humor , a very real look at your daily lives over there. Not easy for you, honestly i couldn't do it however, you are a great sport being so involved with all your family does there. Us westerners living in S.E Asia can certainly take a leaf out of your book.

Hi Chris, I'm moving to calbayog in January , I'm from Ireland, I'm just wondering if there is anything I should definitely bring as I will be building a house with my wife. House decorations, food, cloths, sneakers, tools for the house, TVs radio extra. Any information would be very helpful as I have only been too weeks
Hi Mark,I wish I could have brought everything in my house, but sadly it would have cost as much if not more than the furniture cost.My advice would be to bring what you can especially electronic items as they are very expensive her, things like TCP ,band aids e.t.c.Tools and cloths are reasonably cheap here so would not be cost effective to bring. It's very difficult to be more specific because everyone has different priorities . I'm sorry I can't be more helpful. thebritinthephilippines.com patreon.com/abritinthephilippines

Hey Chris. I'm looking to move to the phillpines in December, on a normal or maybe extended visa and then apply to get married to my fiancé and get a spouse visa afterwards. Can you give me any advice or suggest any documents I might need since I'm birtish too, I have been looking for people from the UK to help me but its all US expats haha.
First you need to make a trip to the British Embassy to get a document that tells the Philippine Government that you are free to marry.
A Brit in the Philippines that's different from the affirmation or affidavits? But I mostly mean what what exactly do I need to bring with me to the phillpines to be able to apply for visa and marriage licenses. And how much money roughly do I NEED to bring. Since I am low budget. But I can rely on a little support from my fiancé in the phillpines who is a customs broker.
....Put some plants to separate the store from the noisy, dusty main street (if possible). Use recyclable boxes for the food instead of plastic bags, use plastic glows and a dedicated food handling uniform...including some kind of cover for the hair, ....just my opinion (won't cost much and will give the business some comparative advantage).
U owned this sari sari store in the picture title before? 😊
