@@HeeyManFishing It looks to me like a blue rainbow trout, similar to a golden rainbow. It's a genetic mutation, quite rare to actually hatch one. Congrats!
Nice video, great info. And wow…that blue trout! I had to look it up. Here’s what TroutPro says: Blue Rainbow Trout are a rare mutation that occurs in hatchery production of rainbow and brown trout. It is so rare that one hatchery has reported that in a spawn of about 40 million eggs only about 30 of them are indeed blue. If you are looking to hook one of these rare trout, you should expect to catch millions of fish first or maybe not.
Heeyman, great video. Could you take just a second and type out exactly what we'd need to fish this to be legal besides a NC freshwater license? SC resident here and want to carry the kids up there. Thanks man!
Absolutely. Go to the EBCI site here . You can buy the permits online. A N.C. License is not necessary on tribal waters. A one day tribal permit is $10. The site is pretty self explanatory. Good luck on the fishing. ebci-licensing.s3licensing.com/?catalogItem=Fishing
Mingo Falls up to the top of Big Cove is catch and keep. The Blue Ridge Parkway bridge underpass to River Valley Campground walk bridge is catch an release, fly rod only. Most places are posted either way.
Have successfully fished many of these spots. Problem is tubers, kayakers, kids swimming and splashing, other fishermen making noise. Very difficult to stay on Qualla property.
Wow ! - Aqua colored Trout was the whole video, nice !
Yea rare, think its got to do with pigmentation just did not develop normally
