@@navyvet05 That area back in the 90s had only Hispanics, the fact that you saw whites, Hispanics and 1 black person makes it even more diverse now then before 😂

@@Wraith26yeah it’s much more diverse now. Back in the 70s it was mostly Italians, in the 80s it became Hispanic, 90s black and Hispanic, now it’s people of all backgrounds, It’s great.

I'm UK born and raised of Jamaican heritage now living in the Netherlands. It was great seeing a Roots Reggae Sound System playing!
If my parents had decided to leave Jamaica for America instead of the UK, I'm 100% certain this would have been the area I would have grown up in. Why? Because most of my cousins who are American born live in Brooklyn. Coincidentally, I live near a Dutch town called Breukelen. Apparently this was the original name for Brooklyn before the English bought New York from the Dutch - so in a way I feel very connected to Brooklyn, New York even though I am thousands of miles away from it.

New York City is one big rubbish dump. A few years ago I was there and while on the street near the railway I smelled something quite foul. I think it came from the underground or the rubbish on the street. Very unsavoury.
