In May 2024 they made their welcome return with brand new single 'Don't Go Making Plans' on Ignition Records. Their first new material in ten years, the track marks a taste of a forthcoming EP of brand-new songs, as well as a big UK headline tour this November. As with many of the band's songs, there is a thought-provoking depth behind Hard-Fi's pop sensibility. The song's defiant themes were initially inspired by the UK Government's attempts to criminalise many aspects of popular protest through the 2022 Public Order Act, while the issue has been thrown into even sharper focus over the last year as police and people have repeatedly clashed on streets around the globe.

Why weren't Hard Fi massive? Brilliant band great songs should have been huge. In my opinion their debut album was one of the finest. Great band.

I randomly remember HardFi from years ago and just quickly look up their songs. This song starts cranking and I’m instantly filled with joy. God damn, these guys are good, and these songs still slam.

I remember listening to that 2000s song by the British band Hard-Fi when I was a teenager. It's a great song. It's one of my favourite 2000s songs of all time.

The year is 2023 and i'm in a eternal monday-friday loop hearing this masterpiece. Never looked so actual.
This band's sound, at least the first two albums, summarize the kind of British music I love, including influences from the Clash to the Manic Street Preachers.
Stars of CCTV was such a banging album
When a band grabs your mind it is impossible not to sustain its style! Hard-Fi wrote some undeniable anthems about everyday life, they highlighted the current troubles of younger and older people by a perfect pattern of rock/electronic injection! Youth is a thing they need to stand out, the disease is descriptive in their lyrics, the pressure of living in a society that compels you to adjust to a certain style and not to express your own ideas! This is the huge glitch we deal with.
The lyrics say it all...slave your arse off all week for that little window of freedom on a Friday and Saturday night.
August 2023, this is the tune of all Train Operator team members & other Transport Companies who are under pressure from the Govt & other Orgs and their only thing they can look forward is The weekend.
Back when music had meaning! We need bands like this right now. And I would so love Hard Fi to get back together, their music was an anthem for me back in the day...

I have never worked the traditional week and for most of the year not even believed in a “weekend”. However all that has changed this week, today marks the start of my first weekend in 90 weeks, having worked Monday to Friday and I’m loving the novelty of it. The Friday feeling, the structure to the week. No surprise that I’ve had this playing most of the week, and due to my circumstances it means so much more.
