I loved this song back in 2004/2005 but almost forgot it. What an underrated gem.
The indie scene back then was absolutely thriving with so many different bands bringing us quality offerings.
Glad I was part of this era. Puts todays music to shame
I agree. These indie bands were my childhood. THEE best era for indie bands 🙌🏼
great era, i loved classic Kings of Leon
@@antzoomayeah when kings brought their first two albums out they were absolutely unreal. Happily I saw them twice during that time. They turned so bad. What a let down.
agreed. Real bands are a dying breed. I see a fair amount amount of young talented musicians online but they seem more interested in doing covers and showing off their skills on tiktok than gathering with other musicians to jam and write original music. Sad.
2004. Razorlight, Sony Ericsson and The Mighty Boosh. What a time to be alive.
Come with us now on a journey through time and space !
Best times!❤
15 years 😩 I’m 31 now. Razor light and The Kooks songs bring me back to a favourite time in my life. It’s crazy how much has changed and how much I’ve changed.
That was a fantastic year for music. Mr Brightside by The Killers, Take me Out by Franz Ferdinand, The Bucket by Kings of Leon, Cant Stand me Now and What became of the Likely Lads by The Libertines, I Predict a Riot by Kaiser Chiefs, Banquet by Block Party, Reptilia by The Strokes to name a few. Good memories
MR FAUST if I come across a time machine I’ll give you a buzz 👍😂
Time in my life when I genuinely happy
bro we the same age and same feeling, there was a time
And yet it only feels like a few years ago.
Never gets old. The best band of the 2000s
Time passes so quickly I’m 30 now and I ve been listening for 16 years 🤦🏼♂️
ah be kral
Black Man checking in! This is that Dope we ALL NEED! YES Black Men Love Rock! Hell we invented it.
Saw razorlight last year still amazing live
Episode 2 of Behind Her Eyes brought me here ❤️
I was watching the show right now, listening to the song for the first time, I liked it
Same, Adele as a nice taste in music.
Loved that series! Just finished it last night.
Same 😁
@@strawberryshortcake224 finished it just now. I’m still recovering. 😔
Totally unappreciated song, one of the most hypnotizing chorus i ever heard, cheers for producers of this masterpiece!
The album is a true masterpiece in my opinion, I remember buying it the day it was released and never had it off lol
2024 may ?
The track of my time at uni. Scraped a BA in media but got a PHD in debauchery. Good times
You’ll give an account to Jesus for the debauchery part. Hope you know him. Might have been a tongue in cheek joke at a certain point in time not anymore given the way children are dead and women are rapists and men are drag queens. So it’s not that cute anymore… Sodom and Gomorrah is happening again… do you think the above things are something to laugh about?…
This band saved my life several times.
Massively underrated song writer
Respect for hair straighteners.
To say my life was completely different back then. Is an understatement 😔 brings back great memories 💯
Mad how listening to certain songs when you’re older you actually deep the lyrics and the song hits so much harder😂
This song reminds me of my mum so much
Just painting a forest on my bedroom wall.
Do reckon this song was another clue the lyrics fit the storyline perfectly
OOOF it is so much more than just a forest !!
I don't have to. I live in such a place.
Gach deagh dhùrachd bho Sealtaiin 🏴
Slàinte ; )
@@BumbleBeeOnTheBeach if you like this song, definitely check out Jamison Faulkner - Way Back When
I can remember listening to this on cd at 10 years old. What song, underratted.
❤️ This song.
Sheryl mac uh t
It was never under rated though, it was huge. This and somewhere else got them famous in england
I mean 4.9million views would beg they were never underrated
I get that this song was one that I thought was gone forever
2004 was the year i left school! This song along with many others comes from what i see as the last great era of indie music.
OMG I had the lyrics "all they know, is how to put you down" stuck in my head for months and I couldn't remember the rest of the song. Christ! Finally!! ❤❤ Golden Touch!
Behind her eyes made me remember this belter
Behind her eyes this is where I heard this amazing song
I reckon if you put this song on the radio tomorrow everyone would love it as much as my family do.
Fell in love with this song in the limited series Behind Her Eyes.
Same
Thank you who ever put this on. I'd forgotten how good they we're, and how gorgeous johnny WAS
Behind her eyes brought me here :D
Me too!
Omg😍me toooo
Same
Same with me!!!
Same!
Thankyou Behind Her Eyes for reminding me of this great tune.
i bet we all have one thing in common we never play this song just once we play it over and over again
father christmas Thats Basically Me! Great Song!
Yes!
Nope, hate the song.
After some time song gets boring and loses its magic. Listening to one song over and over again is the worst thing u can do. You should listen to it once, and forget it. Just think about it. After some time, maybe month, maybe year you'll find it by accident and all the memories will come back.
So true
This song is a work of genius!
yeah, robert smith's genius.
indeed my friend
I agree
Agree.
Undoubtably one of the best pieces of British songwriting of the 21st Century
Marc Davis mate there swedish
LOL
No they're English.
Archy Bainbridge you're probably thinking of The Hives
Ahem they're actually American c'mon people
Used to love this and Don't go back to Dalston, in fact you dont skip any of the first album , if anyone ever reads this look up Razorlight doing Outkast Hey Ya 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
this song brings back so many happy memories in high school with my friend, we used to play this on repeat, love that rhythm guitar miss those indie days, I wanna throw one of my friends some love as he's always been there for me, if a music producer now and heavily influenced by our high school indie days, try searching Lonely Gimmick - Grumpy Days, despite the name its a very happy indie track, its honestly such a great tune well worth a listen!
I dedicated this song to myself when i broke up last year, it made my self confidence even stronger!
10 years l8r.. how are you doing?
Jesus Christ why time flies so fast 😭 Still love this song so freaking much, same feelings as many years ago when i was teenager 🖤 Heart is screaming it outttt “…all they knoooooooooow”
Always loved Razorlight. Loved their first two albums, then they seemed to disappear after the third.
They just dropped a new single a couple weeks ago. It's a banger!
why is this song not better known , this is what made razorlight.
Razorlight brought me here
I know a girl with the golden touch
She's got enough, she's got too much
But I know, you wouldn't mind
You could have it all if you wanted
You could have it all if it mattered so much
But then all they know is how to put you down
When you're there, they're your friend
But then when you're not around
They say, "Oh, she's changed"
We know what they mean
Well they mean, they're just jealous
Because they never do the things
That they wish that they could do so well
That kind of girl, yes she's never alone
You leave a thousand messages on her phone
But you know you never get through
And you could have it all if you wanted, girl
You could have it all if it matters to you
But then all they know is how to put you down
When you're there, they're your friend
But then when you're not around
They say, "Oh, she's changed"
We know what they mean
Well they mean, they're just jealous
Because they never do the things
That they wish that they could do so well
I saw my girl with the golden touch
Give 'em a taste but not too much
I just can't listen to the words of fools
I don't give away too much
Someone will need your golden touch
But then all they know is how to put you down
When you're there, they're your friend
But then when you're not around
They say, "Oh, she's changed"
We know what they mean
Well they mean, they're just jealous
Because they never do the things
That they wish that they could do so well
But then all they know is how to put you down
When you're there, they're your friend
But then when you're not around
They say, "Oh, she's changed"
We know what they mean
Well they mean, they're just jealous
Because they never do the things
That they wish that they could do so well
Razorlight’s best song!
Half a song..still a good half
I was 6 years old when this song came out. 24 now and still sounds as great as the first time I heard it back when it released. Many memories.
One of the most iconic opening riffs. Love it. xx
Thank god for Netflix 🖤 Behind Her Eyes anyone??
Putting this on your MP3 player instead of America because it wasn't as popular and therefore cooler to your teenage mindset.
I miss the late 00's.
TEENAGE MEMORIES
Stephanie Potter You're lucky, Nicki Minaj didn't exist...
Stephanie Potter i was almost 40 when this song came out

i may not have been born into the days when this song came out but i am sure one of those young kids that love the old music. Music was way better then just like this song
Can’t believe this only has 5mil views, I don’t think Americans know about this song
these just played a festival in my home town, free entry, held outside rochdale town hall.
phenomenal, proper nostalgic
Amo esta rolita. El 2004 fue un gran año en la música y para mi.
golden girl
This song sounded absolutely incredible way back in the day, and it still sounds just as incredible today.
Johnny's vocals were outstanding, and so was the music.
In my own opinion, Razorlight were a band that should of achieved far more recognision and success then they recieved.
A very very underrated band.
👏👏👏👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
this was one of those brill moments when u stop and think wow, was half asleep watching glastonbury on tv then heard this loved it woke me up :)
Younger generation here - Couple weeks ago I've discovered this song and I am just amazed!
I like it so fucking much.
We need to go back.
I remember this album very well, I liked the fact it told you to play it louder because it sounds better. It that was so true.
is a track about a girl who seemingly has it all - talent, beauty, and success. The lyrics describe how everyone around her envies her and tries to bring her down by criticizing her or spreading rumors about her when she's not around. However, the narrator is close to this girl with the "golden touch" and is telling her not to pay heed to these negative remarks.
The song suggests that jealousy and envy are common among people, especially when someone else appears to be more successful or happy than they are. The line "they'll never do the things that they wish that they could do so well" implies that these people envy the girl because they lack the skill or drive to achieve the same level of success.
The chorus repeats this message with the line "all they know is how to put you down," indicating that the ones who criticize or spread rumors are not worth paying attention to and that the girl should continue to shine bright, using her "golden touch" to make a difference in the world.
Overall, "Golden Touch" is a reminder to focus on one's talents and not let negative comments from others bring them down.
I heard this song on a Aussie NRL show this month. Love them for a decade. This sound always makes me smile. Thank you Razorlight. I wish you would come to Australia🤗 I was told about this song by a uk band roadie and that was 15yrs ago!!!
I loved this band at the time. Never seen a band lose their credibility so fast in my life.
+Scruffy P What do you mean? I love this song since forever, but I never actually heard anything else and I was thinking about starting now.
is there a reason they lost credibility mate ?
Philip Nicholls cos their music turned awful and the singer was incredibly up himself
They played at one of my uncles work dinners lol
+Philip Nicholls The song America and Borrel's proclamations in the media. He came out with a solo album in 2013 which flopped.
Behind Her Eyes 👀🌳
Classic album
Behind Her Eyes brought me here :)
Listened to this song when it came out in 2004

Heck of a tune. To think this guy was once a Libertine. I love John Hassall and all, but just imagine if this guy had remained as their bassist.
Miss the indie days so much! Popular culture is trash these days
Hands up getting ready for their 2023 tour!
Took me about half an hour to remember what this song was called, but it's so worth it!!!!
I heard this brilliant tune from an outro of an old English documentary and I'm instantly in love with it.
some songs are not songs they are poetry
I love this song. You can have it all if it MATTERS to YOU!

They weren't massive, they should've been bigger.. they were good though just underrated
Why oh why am I only discovering Razorlight now? Hear them all the time on Absolute Radio. You guys are brilliant.
Still listening and loving this song so much in 2019!!!
And who the fuck cares man, it's tedious that all you Fools can spout is what year your listening to it as if it's a fucking good in put.
Matthew Brown-Smith but then all they know... is how to put you down 🤔
Same :)
Is a recent song lol
I listen 70s music that is just about old
