Yeah, we don't need to be bludgeoned to death by this un-subtle, ham-fisted compilation. It's perfectly obvious from the more nuanced art of the original movie.
Well they don't really complain about gay kisses themselves. They are all over the media nowadays. They complain about it being the character's only selling point. Being homosexual doesn't make for a compelling character. Especially not when the movie wants to lecture me. It's just annoying.
@@EbonyPope Yes there is some of that, but I know that there are a lot of people out there that actually hate gay people and throw the biggest fit whenever a gay couple kisses in a movie. I can speak from experience, watching movies with my extremely conservative family.
@@doydivision3984 I have to admit it disgusts me too. But that didn't necessarily mean you hate gay people. @@EbonyPope I see what you are saying, but you don’t see gay people acting like they’re going to throw up or get angry because they saw a heterosexual kiss in a movie. You don’t have to be turned on by it. Take a movie like Brokeback Mountain for example. The whole point of the movie is that they’re gay cowboys and can’t be gay and in love with each other because of their lifestyle. Even though I am a heterosexual male, I don’t think I have any reason to get angry and throw a fit and act like I’m going to vomit while watching it. @@doydivision3984 I have to disagree. I know a few gay guys who consider the thought at penetrating a vagina as disgusting. And that's completely okay because it's not their preference. I mean my father can't (he's also very religious) so his disgust at that is a little bit more pronounced but he never had any problem with gay people. Quite the contrary. As I said things aren't always black and white. But one thing I know he doesn't use his religion to dehumanize gay people unlike some other "christians". If these are innuendos, then this film is a criticism of homosexuality and a defence of traditional morality. I am not saying that you're wrong, but this went right over my head.
@@Siegfried5846 I don't think so. Many actors in Hitchcock's films were gay or bi, and censorship in those times was very strict. There are a lot of movies of that time period that dealed with themes like homosexuality or sexuality in and of itself through subtext

cigarettes after sex🤯
