Does nostalgia bring a tear to anyone else's eye? Not like sad but just remembering good times when life was so much simpler? A few songs do that for me. This is one.
I was 17 years old, the music scene back then was insane, what a privilege it was to witness bands like this live at that time at the peak of my youth, I still have vivid memories of it 👍
These kids now are deprived of good music. It's honestly sad. I am thankful with you. The more trash they continue to come out with these days, the more thankful I am!
Amen. ❤ I'm in the same boat with you. I remember waking up in the winter of 03' with this playing on MTV, with Faint, Hoobastank, Avril Lavigne, Story Of The Year... Good times.
its' bc of the groove the hook the chorus and the way it perfectly combines with the dark, deep, low, melodic tone of the music. the chorus is maybe the best chorus i've ever heard in a song and i usually dont' like metal music. i really want to find out how they made such an amazingly great chorus music.
The song literally has no lyrics to hit any emotions whatsoever. If the words stupid girl brings emotions to you then that's a new level of cringe you just hit.
Fun fact: story has it Rivers Cuomo of Weezer wrote all the lyrics to this song and he sang all the harmony backing vocals and the lead vocals on the Woah Woah Woah Woah part. It came to be when Cold and Weezer were playing a festival together and Scooter Ward of Cold went up to Rivers and said "how do you write such catchy songs with the big chorus that gets radio airplay? our songs are great but long and lacking that catchy hook for radio or MTV"...he gave Rivers a cassette with some riffs labeled Stupid girl and the next day Rivers came back with the arrangement and lyrics...Rivers didn't even ask to be credited however Cold did give him writting credits. This song went on to be the only song Cold had that was in heavy rotation on MTV 2 and Fuse, received radio airplay and was their only song to crack the top 100 on the Billboard charts.
The thing that is understandable and weird is the fact that he dislikes the song because of the fact that he didn't write it, I can now hear the weezer in this song
Every word you said is exact fact and in an interview scooter said he actually has some bad feelings about this song because of it in reality being Weezer's song and not a true cold song. This song was never meant to be the debut single for the album and when it did scooter was actually pissed about it.
