My mom and I had 2 sets of sea-monkeys before she past she said she wanted to get some more sea-monkeys. It's been 5yrs now since she left but I finally ordered a set , we loved our sea-monkeys and I'm looking forward to have fun with them again. And that's an awesome set looks very fun to watch them swim while enjoying some popcorn , wish they bring it back.
“Equally ridiculous as is it wholesome” describes Seamonkeys _perfectly!_ I wish the company would take you onboard as a consultant because you are almost always correct when you point out flaws and ways to fix them. While I think this tank has an interesting concept, my issues with it are exactly those you pointed out. With a brighter LED (and batteries that can either be plugged in and/or charged) it would make a great nightlight! I think I’m going to try and find something similar to this because I love the idea of having giant sea monkey shadows on my bedroom wall. ❤️ from Canada ETA: I think a video on appropriate tank mates is an awesome idea and I look forward to a future video on the topic!
Love that you’re looking for buddies for sea monkeys. Having a more diverse sea monkey tank would be so much fun! Loved the concept behind this tank, but I agree with you about its features. A usb-powered light would have been great
These videos are so high quality and well made because you spend months to make these videos. I even made my own sea monkey colony after i saw some of your videos!
The tank looks neat, but my favourite part is probably the lack of the magnifying bubbles. I wish they'd do that more often. I also wanted to say that I really appreciate you showing us the entire thing all in one video, unlike some other videos where they say to wait two weeks, and you have to wait two more weeks for the video to come out. I find I've often totally forgotten about it by then, so I really enjoy how you condense the time down for the viewers. It really makes me realise just how many tanks you must have going at once to be able to have consistent uploads. Kudos!
Totally agree about the magnifying bubbles! It definitely makes this tank a lot nicer to look at. Glad to hear you’re enjoying the videos too :) I usually have around 3-4 tanks set up at the same time waiting for the Sea-Monkeys to finish growing 😅 I’m probably not going to do another Sea-Monkey tank review for a while though, going to focus on some slightly different content
What would have been convenient is a slot for that magnifying glass so there was a spot to keep it. Being clear, that would probably be the first accessory to get lost.
You can really tell that they put a lot of thought into the design of the tank. I really like the idea of the sea monkeys dancing around. The only thing that bothers me is that they chose design over the quality. Great tank though!
I would absolutely love to see more tank mate videos!!! I really enjoy all of your videos on the sea monkeys because I've learned so much about the healthy way to raise sea Monkeys.. Thank you soo much!!!
Awwww. As a snail lover, I like the buddies you added to the tank. If I had that tank as a kid, I would have used the projector light every night. I was terrifoed of the dark and I loved my sea monkeys ❤
I'd def like to see more about the snails and other tank mates with sea-monkeys. I agree with you, I wish they had a plug in version for the light show or at least a charger. That being said, it is a really cute design.
I have another tank that also has copepods with the Sea-Monkeys, though they’re so tiny that they’re basically microscopic, so I’m not sure they count 😅 I’ll keep searching for those Moina Salina eggs
I love the different tank design for live sea monkeys tank and how kids can learn about living creatures with out getting an expensive pet some people don’t want and is really easy to set up.
Wake up babe, a new Picocosmos video was just uploaded 🤣 I always see your videos right up top of my youtube when you upload em and click on it asap, love this content so much!
I really like that Sea-Monkeys Big Show tank with its theatrical theme which would be perfect for anyone, but particularly for someone with a home theatre setup/screening room/media room to add to their movie enthusiasm and in terms of adding that USB mini heater and an aerating stone, I suppose one could carefully drill two holes in the lid to accommodate the width of the tubes. Great video as always, Picocosmos. :)
Haha yeah it is a little surprising! Collecting this stuff seems to have become a little more popular over the last year or two which is great to see. Hopefully the hobby continues to grow 🎉
@@pico-cosmos yeah i really enjoy your videos and i got the sea monkeys magic castle kit for christmas and you really got me interested in them i had the colony for 2-3 months
Yeah it’s definitely possible to DIY this idea! I tried it out in my video review of the Sea-Monkeys circus tank using the flashlight on my smartphone and it worked really well 👍
It would be nice to see a video on tankmates. I really like the fact that this tank doesn't have the magnifying bubbles as well. I feel like the magnifying bubbles actually obscure the image more than helps you see them really.
I had a chance to buy this tank several years ago, and I didn't do it, and have regretted it ever since. It's a neat idea! Admittedly you can recreate the effect yourself with like, a flashlight, I suppose, but not nearly as neatly and adorably. Love the video and really appreciate the full review of the tank! Personally I'd love to see more of your take on tankmates for sea monkeys. I've found that the tiny marine invertebrates are more common as live cultures (usually as feeding stock for marine tanks) than as eggs--maybe that's an option? I've debated getting some myself to try acclimating them, though, but haven't gotten around to it. And oh! I've also wanted to try snails for the absolute longest time! Love your little mollusk friends and glad to see they seem to be doing well. The main thing that's kept me from snails is trying to find some in the hobby that are small enough for a Sea Monkey tank, as I don't know of any tide pools near me and I'm unsure of the protected status of wildlife here (Florida) besides. (I tried to post this from my invertebrate hobby account, Itty Bitty Beasties, but for some reason the comments wouldn't load over there. So personal account it is I guess, and sorry this got so long!)
These tanks still come up for sale every so often. I got this one for $90, though I imagine with the way the market is at the moment they would now for for a fair bit more than that. Glad yo hear you enjoyed the video :)
This tank is absolutely beautiful. I love the design of it! The light isn't the best in a bright room - not keen on it but I love the overall design. Great video as always, John, can't wait for the next one.
I enjoy the concept of projecting them onto a wall, wish there was a modern version available with a USB for sale. The inclusion of a smooth front with no magnifying bubbles is also perfect!
I agree that its a bit annoying to lose so much of the bottom of the tank. I love the top design though and I always love to see you review these. When I was a kid I only had sea monkeys once but I always saw them in the store and wanted them. I remember seeing so many of these tanks but I could never have them because we didnt have a lot of money. Watching your videos makes me want to purchase one for my adult self. My friends already think I'm weird so it would fit my aesthetic
I was the same as a kid! Always wanted this stuff but could never get it, so it’s fun to finally try it all out now :) you should totally get some! Embrace the weird 💃
The big show is exactly what is called! Love it. I bought sea monkeys for my ten year old son. He loved it and with everything it offers, sounds amazing to my son and I. Just wanted to drop a like and hope we have a chance.
i remember watching a few sea monkey blogs talk abt these years ago!!! i love em! also YES please to a video abt other things you can keep sea monkies with!
The circus themed ones have to be my favorite, sad they're so rare! Great video man, I've probably binged half of them within the last while, thinking of getting my own sea monkeys sometime soon
These sets still pop up on ebay every so often! Though the prices are a little high these days. I managed to get this one for $90 about 18 months ago, though it would likely sell for over $200 now
Honestly, I love this kind of thing- as you said, I'd like to use it as a nightlight- though it need a power cord for it. It's really amazing though, not to mention the little light screen. I'd just set this up and watch it until I fall asleep.
Ah that’s cool that I was mentioned over there! I don’t know too much about traditional aquariums, my only real knowledge is with brine shrimp 😅 they’re one of the only “shrimp” like species we can get over here
I love how this tank doesn't have the magnifying bubbles, that always bothered me with the normal tanks. also I agree with the night light idea, I would've loved that when I was little!
What a unique tank! I think it would be very relaxing to watch the Sea-Monkeys swim before going to sleep. Love your content. I've been a Sea-Monkey fan for around 35 years 😊
😂 there are a few official tanks without magnifying bubbles! Marine Zoo, Explor-A-Sub, Magic Castle, Mars & Circus tanks - I'm really glad they decided to leave them off this one too, those magnifiers are so annoying!
"let me know if you want a more in-depth video on-" YES! That would be so neat to have a video on. It would make the tank a little more lively and make it feel like a "real" fish tank.
This video brought back so many memories, I had one of these and absolutely loved it. I love your videos and hope you continue to produce such great content thank you for what you do.
Another great video! I have this show and it is the one from Toys-R-Us. Thank you for continuing to put out great content for our beloved Sea Monkeys! I want some of those snail!

Another awesome video, and another cool tank! I really liked the tank from the 1960's that you showed on the circus tank video, the one with the cardboard audience. I printed out the patents, and think it would be cool to try to make a reproduction of it. I could definitely handle the technical aspects of it, but would probably need help with the artwork.
Always love your videos, brings back memories of sea monkeys when I was a kid. I would definitely love to see more tank mate videos! This is a topic I was researching recently and couldn't find much on.
Absolutely love the Big Show tank’s idea of a projector, hopefully something similar is tried like that later on with a stronger light and a unique base design. I did find a globe aquarium with a light that might be a good project for a ceiling projector
Thank you for showing that tank, I never would of been interested in it. I appreciate how you show the good and not so good things about the tanks and include some history about the artwork. When I was a kid, I used to use a flash light to project the Sea-Monkey images on the wall. I had seen the little screen for sale at Sea-Monkeys and wished I would of bought one now. I am very interested in seeing more about Sea-Monkey buddies like the snails. I love your videos, keep up the great work...
Oh wow I never thought of putting tank mates in. I also like that the magnifying lens is a separate pieces for this set. I do wish this set didn’t obscure the bottom of the tank as much as it does and that they still put on some form of substrate but I guess they couldn’t go too crazy with the design to keep it cost effective to produce.
You can not go past how adorable the "theatre" base is! Especially with the ticket girl waiting to help with your ticket inquiries. Would love to see same same but a more modern version without the need for replaceable batteries. Also am very interested in upcoming vids re SeaMonkey tank friends!!
I absolutely love the design of this tank but they definitely should have had the tank sitting higher and the light on an angle so that half the tank wasn’t obscured when viewing from the front but so the projector effect still worked! Great video though, can’t wait for the next one!
Great video as usual, and in particular kudos to you for including the coverage of a compatible tank mate! Would love to see more content around other organisms, including plants, that can co-exist happily with artemia. I visited several fish pet stores in my area that had the word "ocean" in their name, though oddly enough they were exclusively for freshwater supplies. It can get expensive ordering small marine organisms online, so it would be nice to have a list of pre-vetted tank mates to choose from with some expectation of success in housing with artemia. Thanks!
This big show tank is awesome! ive always preferred the more gimmicky tanks over the basic looking ones, so this one is definitely up there with my favs.
I can't believe how many of these cool tank options there has been! This one's great but like you said, a bit awkward with the tank obscured a fair amount in the front. Maybe they should have 'dressed up' the back side a bit so it would be another viewing option. Thanks John! Enjoyed your video.
i love the idea of big show being a night light on a table stand instead of a traditional lamp. i bet i would’ve loved the idea as a child too
Same! I recently discovered you can get USB adapters for AA batteries, so I'm going to give that a try 👌

Thanks!
This one's fun! Definitely would've grabbed my attention as a kid more than some of the others, something a little more interactive!
This big show tank is awesome! ive always preferred the more gimmicky tanks over the basic looking ones, so this one is definitely up there with my favs.
That’s such a cool tank and the snails are adorable too!! As someone who loves movies I wish I had that as a kid
I can't believe how many of these cool tank options there has been! This one's great but like you said, a bit awkward with the tank obscured a fair amount in the front. Maybe they should have 'dressed up' the back side a bit so it would be another viewing option. Thanks John! Enjoyed your video.
I'm still not half way through my Sea-Monkey tank reviews 😅 there are so many!
