    Is it just the super duty trucks? I have a excursion and live in Idaho would you recommend to do this? I just purchased it so haven’t used it in winter.

    What about the check ball and spring in the bolt?

    • @TheGaginator
      @TheGaginator  Рік тому +1

      There is not one. The check valve is in the hard line that you throw away

      @@TheGaginator on my 1999 F250 SD the 4r100 had a check ball in the line and one in the rear banjo bolt. I see they make bolts with the ball and spring removed for a pretty penny but I just drilled mine out.

      There is a check ball in my fitting and I knocked it out. It took a little bit to get all the guts out of it but now it's free to flow. When I saw your video I went online and bought that product. thanks for the help.

    Was there alittle oring on the easier one? I did the kit and its leaking a tiny bit

    • @TheGaginator
      @TheGaginator  2 роки тому

      No o-rings on these kits. Sometimes when they leak, its dirt between the crush washers

    • @theoverlanddisciple
      @theoverlanddisciple 20 днів тому

      On my 7.3 it has an o ring as well. Haven't dont my v10 yet. Of course mine fell out and I have no clue where it fell from. Pretty sure it's in the seat between the transmission and the inner washer.

    Where can you order one of these bypass kits?

  • @BRob1320

    Hello
    Im confused! For Texas, are you saying we need to bypass the tranny cooler?
    Thanks

    • @TheGaginator
      @TheGaginator  Рік тому +2

      For any state I'd recommend the bypass. If you are in a climate below freezing for 50% of the year, it would be ok to have it in there, but you'd want to at least replace it. 20 years has taken a toll on these valves, and they all get stuck, causing transmission overheating

    Great video I just spent $1,200.00 replacing the torque converter, shift pack and bypass tube. Because my transmission in my Excursion has slowly been getting hotter for the last 4 months. Got it back today and it is still running around 225 degrees not towing anything. Nobody can tell me what is a safe temperature,can anybody tell me what is a safe temperature for normal driving here in central Texas? I just ordered a BD diesel bypass delete and I am gonna try and see if it helps. I already have a Derale electric cooler on it.

      I run about 160-180 Driving around town. I'm in Utah. 2000 Excursion Diesel. I am upgrading my cooler and oil pan and going to delete the bypass. 225 Seems excessive since not towing. I've ran pass 260 pulling a 6-8% grade pulling 10,000k trailer but pulled over and let it cool down. That's why I'm upgrading. Didn't seem to do damage. If your running 225 consistently, Change your fluid every 60k miles

      Thank you for the comment, I am wondering if your readings are off for your temp sensor if you still have issues after doing the bypass delete

      Bigger trans cooler? Intakes mine sitting at around 140 on hot jersey days

    • @achingnutz
      @achingnutz Рік тому

      Get a trans cooler for a 6.0 superduty. 31 rows, uses the same mounts. Just have to make some 3/8" to 1/2" barb adapters. My service truck weighs 17,640 and with a 6.0 cooler has never broke 185. Don't bypass the radiator cooler when installing it, plumb it after it just as the original cooler was installed.
