Theme Song by Hello Control: bit.ly/hellocon...
There are full length feature films that have failed to convey as much emotion as the "Dramatic Recreation" skit. Great job guys!
this is too true...
Fusion Five Films agreed!
Needed a minute to compose myself after seeing that
I agree. I almost cried haha
the "dramatic recreation" was really touching. probably my favourite episode in a long time!
I completely agree with you
Wow, Film Riot just turned amazing again! :)
Yeah, I agree.
That dramatic representation had me dying! lol
Dont you die on me! We will open a shrimp company when we get out from this hell hole! I promise you! May the ZEUS propel our spirits into eternal land of shrimp and prosperity.
MrFolder40 was epic
That CREW shirt tho, true love
Best thing ever!!!!!!!!
MrFolder40 i cried
I watched this before my first day working G&E for free on a feature… that was almost four years ago. This video helped me out so much, along with Griptips. Now I’m joining IATSE Local 728. Thanks Ryan for making this video. I don’t think I’d be where I am today without it.
My grandpa was a key grip before he retired. He has a crap ton of amazing stories from a lot of the most famous movies of the seventies and eighties. It's cool to see the grips finally getting some love!
oh this is real right here

Scream the lemon. Scream it.

I finally got a grip on these tips on grip.
Nate's Film Tutorials I see what u did there :-D
We were shooting a feature film once and production went way late. it was a mixed set and union peeps were not happy. We were settings up a very long interior steadi cam shot. anyway Justin gets on the radio and in very quirky voice asks "So what you guys shooting here? a real-estate video or something?" everyone laughed and it helped get us through. Also it was my first time on a major set and I was in over my head. Justin was and is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet on a set.
"Dramatic Recreation" was actually amazingly made
It really was!
A courtesy flag is such a beautiful thing. I was trying to monitor sound levels remotely in direct sunlight and I used a flag for myself and it helped sooo much. We didn't technically have a grip, but we had a flag kit.
More "Justin Jokes" as a feature please. Thank you. LoL. So lame its funny as hell! I love it
Dang, send that "Dramatic Recreation" into Sundance or Tribeca or something...
YAS!
That was some serious Forrest Gump action.
PREACH!
Is it bad that I've never seen Forrest Gump???
yes... great movie! Top 10 easily.
The mini short with the knee pad is one of the reasons why Film Riot will always have my love and appreciating. Y’all legit are going into my end credit thank you’s for all my films!!! Thank u all for the knowledge& inspiration 🙏🏾
This Film Riot video was particularly amazing! The presentation was so professional and informative that I could have mistaken it for a TV show. The main content had lots of visuals to keep a fast pace of information, the "Justin got jokes" were short and separate enough to not be distracting and the "Dramatic Recreation" was a great display of acting emotion.
+Chartokai Thanks man!
+Film Riot No problem. I meant every word.
That clip in the middle.... YES... SO MUCH YES! Just when I thought it was over... it got better and better!
That dramatization of knees is exactly how it feels! :')
LOL too real!
Hi, my name is Brian, I'm from Brazil, and I'd like to congratulate and thank you for your content. Because of you, I am producing incredible things using the techniques you teach on the channel. Thank you very much :)
+Brian De Lucca That's amazing! Congrats on your career!
That black and white dramatic skit was the best skit in film riot Ive seen in a really long time. Really brilliant guys! Bravo.
The dramatic representation made a lone tear roll down my cheek. I hope that one day, on some project, I will meet the grip of all grips.
the Dramatic Recreation skit was absolutely amazing. I cant put into words the way it made me feel
Omg this was actually one of my new favorite Film Riot episodes! So funny and actually really helpful :)
Justin's freaking awesome
Fair play to these guys. They share so much for everyone to better themselves off. There’s a sense of generosity to this channel.
Love the effort put into the little short skits to make them and their tips really stick to memory!!
So good. I love hearing tips/how to's about big budget film sets!
Great video guys!
Just wanted to note that the 4x4 floppy also has a little sleeve at the bottom of it used to weight it down and keep it from rustling in the breeze. You can throw like a 2x4 or a gobo arm or something in it in stead of loosing some of the flag by clamping it!
The dramatic recreation was so beautiful!
Ryan, the directorship and command of the medium represented even in your simplest/silliest of sketches simply astonishes me every time.
That dramatic shot gave me goosebumps, especially when you used closeups. Keep it up!
That dramatic slow motion scene was so heartfelt lol Almost made me cry!
The dramatic recreation was beautiful! 🥺
Another note for that first one, it's also a good idea to use the flags to shield your actors from the Sun if you're not rolling. Last year I was working on a set in an open field where there was no shade whatsoever on an especially hot day. Obviously I couldn't do it when filming but while the crew was setting up I just stood over the actors with one of the flags to block them from the sun. Gotta take care of your actors because they're the ones being seen on camera.
Learning this crew stuff is the quickest way to get on a professional set. Working as a PA means more to a production than most people think! If you know crew stuff it makes a PA really valuable and they will give you more responsibility
You guys are so great! That dramatic, the eyes... A million thumbs up! I Love you! Greetz from Germany!
The dramatic recreation made me cry, so emotional😢
Love you guys, you make my crew works harder and happier, 2 billions thanks.
Dramarisation was soooooo good. I literally rofled.
please make a seperate channel just for justin got jokes
I actually laughed at them.... surprisingly
YYYYEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS! please
All of those jokes were outrageous. 😂
Best episode I've ever seen from Film Riot. Great content and tips on this one! 10/10
Every second of the dramatic recreation was worth it
Slow mo Josh! Much love to Film Riot, you guys have been throwing down for years, and for as long, I've been watching, being entertained, being inspired...AND, did I mention: slow mo Josh, yeeees!
that buritto technique is amazing!!!!
That actually made me cry a little. Thank you.
This made my morning! You guys are the best! More practical grip stuff like this please.
Last two Justin's joke got me
One of the best episodes of Film Riot ever, both for content and execution!
now your getting back to the good episodes again
One of my favorite episodes in a long time. Fantastic tips and absolutely hilarious!
I have to say your jokes are why this channel is so fun to watch!
+HeadRush Productions
much love ;)
7:25 I just rewatched this three times to understand it. Then I left my PC for 15 minutes as I was carefully folding every blanket in my home this way.
Thanks to this video. I will look to be my first grip job asap. I will try.
The over the top dramatic reaction was the funniest thing that you guys have done in a long time, it had me laughing out loud at work(on break of course)
I love Justin got Jokes, I could watch it all day- also the tips were cool.
This was great, thanks. And usually I have no time for skits / jokey bits but it was all good in this one.
Came for the tips, got a emotional short instead... I love it.
The dramatic effect was hilarious.
You guys are 10 kinds of crazy awesome!!!!!
Dude I needed this video like 8 months ago, I had to learn the hard way
+Giorgio *gets in time machine*
thank u so much for this videos, this are real cinema tutorials i learn so much, thank u . keeping going like this!
These comedy skits are on point and definitely seem like an exaggerated way to remember these tips even better. :) Great!
the dramatic reenactment was hilarious! Great video!
I loved everything about this episode.
That little sketch ware its black and white with the squishy mat. I started to tear up cuz it was that awesome! XD
As funny and silly you guys make this awesome videos, I think Josh's and Justin's acting skills deserve a price!!
That dramatic recreation was probably thr best skit in a long time..
One thing I notice about these guys. Not only do they provide good tips. They are good at comedy. They turn just about anything into laughs which helps send their message more effectively.
that dramatic reaction was rly rly good
The burrito trick was new to me. Thanks!
You are the Martha Stewart of film production....that's a good thing....you are brilliant, I have said it before.
+Meryl Rosner I'll take it!
Yoooo "Jokes with Justin" 70's effects I need to see how that works cause it looks tight.
Can't wait to use these tips on my next project.
this was amazing easily my favorite video in a long time
Nice follow-through on that throw!
Probably THE best non feature episode of 2017.
All of this was new to me. I am really now curious about having the shade source. That is something I would love to have living in Florida.
This was the hardest I've laughed in 2017 thus far. thanks guys.
That was a fantastic episode on every level!
Jesus christ. That dramatic recreation resonated with me waaaaay more that it should have.
@FilmRiot I would love to do a collaboration with you guys. You all have a deep passion for film and it shows. You guys inspire us indie filmmakers to make films for the love of it. I've followed you guys for 3 years and don't plan on stopping keep up the good work.
I love binder clips, especially on Kinos
great stuff guys....the coffee cup trick is freakin genius!!!!
Some serious Pineapple Express vibes! Laughed, cried, learned...thanks!! 👍👍
dramatic scene really good! i mean the feel
The grading on that sketch with that comeian throwing the foam under josh's knees was to darkened, I squinched my eyes. They hurt 2 hours after watching that. But the acting and drama and music were so unbelievably Awesome!
That Dramatic Recreation is awesome ! can't really tell how many times i have been playing that music ! its Breathtaking music and awesome slow mo for those shots and an ending ! :) +Film Riot
What is it?
That kneeling scene!!! I'm in stitches LOL
dramatic recreation deserves an extra like!
Daaam ! yall makin me laugh and schoolin me on set stuff. Thanks mans !
haha,the Dramatic representation was AMAZING!
Wtf? I got goosebumps from the dramatic recreation.
just another example of why I'm subscribed to this channel. So damn good haha
Love that dramatic representation, 10/10
The BG from "Justin Got Jokes" reminds me of Saved by the Bell's intro.
i love the drama in that dramatic recreation :D
That little black and white clip made me explode from laughter! :D:D
Not gonna lie the dramatic recreation had me in tears
thank you for all ypur knowledge. i will put your name in the credits of my first mid lengh movie
What a perfect episode!
Dramatic recreation!!! A Master Piece!!! :D
That camera joke though!!😂😂😂😂👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
A little skit idea. I like it after each episode you always end it with a comical thought just like you said on this one. "I'll see you next week when I'm saved by my lucky backpack". How about you do a skit where you actually been saved by your backpack on the next episode. And that will be a trend for each follows episodes, whatever you say come out the week after. lol
Haha, I'm totally doing that in my video this week!
You know his outro is always referring to a movie, right? It's movie trivia; I think when he said "saved by my luck backpack", he was referring to The Lost World: Jurassic Park (at least, I think that movie).
Haha, it's no biggy; I think it took me a while to catch on to it too, but I've been watching for quite some time now.
The burrito roll was damn satisfying.
