FINALLY!!! Some old school FUN-NESS Film riot type video!! I miss this style so much. And YO the damn RUBBER BAND TRICK?!!! Holy hell thanks for the tip, now I can't see myself panning any differently now!
"Today we get creative with tripods" - THAT is an intro
I know Im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a way to get back into an instagram account..?
I stupidly lost my account password. I love any help you can give me!
As always, this is both entertaining and educational. Simply brilliant, thank you Ryan!
Seems like vintage riot myaaaan! Nice!
Fantastic tips! These are perfect for someone like me that has to carry all their gear on their back to location; the less I need to get the shot, the better.
i LOVE YOU GUYS. BEEN A FAN OF YOUR CHANNEL FOR OVER 7+ YEARS
Thank you, this was a great video!
I make short film professionally...that is not a short film because he is explaining something in it. There is bits in the video that could be in short films but the whole thing like you see it on screen is not a short film. There film they made "Westworld To Yuma" is a short film...
Rory Marion can you give me some tips and tricks. I wan't to jump in film making but i am too nervous... how i am gona do that what ahots shoukd i take how to make a shot perfect...????
6 is my absolute favorite. I'll be using that in some of my projects. Thanks a bunch, Guys!!
The most underrated youtube filmaking channel out there
This kind of episode is what we want! Yay
About time you came back to this background again!!!
Cup cakes for you Ryan for this video. Loved it.
Love those tips. Thanks!
Masters of cinema. I kneel to your greatness .
The amount of film riot videos being uploaded makes me incredibly happy
I normally don't comment on videos but this video by far is one of the best from film riot!
I love that you can do pretty much all of these with a monopod as well, but if there are any extra tricks for that one, please do a video on monopod tricks as well!
Yeah, we missed you Ryan. You're back now!
I have that same tripod. the one you're using for steady shots. grooooooovy tips.
wow, these were some really cool tricks!!! thank u Film Riot!!!!
Those PERFECT EFFING CLOUDS would have to be CG'd in on like every production ever.
I just taught some of these to people I was working with in Iraq. The Rubber Band trick BLEW their minds!
Thank you. You've shown us that a tripod can be a replacement for lots of equipment.
Love the look from those last two shots, that's on the to do list for sure.
Cool video and ideas. You have just ignited my brain and now I am trying to find new ways to use my tripod.
Great video! Videos like these really make you wanna go out and start shooting
Another great video. This channel is fun to watch, allways learning something new. :)
AGH THESE COULD HAVE HELPED ME SO MUCH IF I HAD KNOWN THEM EARLIER. Well, better make use of 'em in the future! Thanks guys!
That "dollar bills y'all" clip is so nostalgic. Please do more of those clips.
THANK YOU! I was just talking to a coworker last week about how you guys were getting away from the DIY/budget film making tricks, but I shall insert my foot into my pie hole now and let you do you boo boo. Keep doing the voodoo you do Film Riot... I love you. XD
Wow what an utterly fantastic video. Mind = blown
Those shots were actually dope.
I'm saving this video forever. awesome video.
Thank you very much! I knew some of these tricks, but this video inspired me to experience more with my tripod and find new ways to shoot.
Brilliant, constantly improving my skills for my own channel tips like this helps.
I love those tips & tricks. Thanks a lot!
Probably the most useful video regards getting shots I've seen.
I love this channel and filmmaking!
Actually , it's the most useful and helpful tips and tricks video I've ever seen! Thank you!

Thanks to your advice I aced my first Music video assignment at Film School .
That was a neat way to show how much you can do with your tripod in 6.5 simple tips. Thank you Ryan :)
+Film Talk thanks. :)
You're Welcome. I personally think your show Film Riot has always been an instant smash hit. Keep the show going and as always you guys inspired me to create my own show known as " Film Talk " that'll soon launch on youtube. :)
Thanks especially for #7. I've been trying to rack my brain around how to do an overhead shot cheaply for a while now.
J. D. Thorne I typed this in the main thread, but 5.5... Two feet against your chest, one on your stomach, and extend sticks all the way. With most tripods this gets the camera 9-10 feet up.
Stay stationary but angle the camera down.
Pivot at the waist and you get a top down pan. This might require stabilization.
WoW what cool tips, love these especially as us poor filmmakers can use them as well, thanks so much :-)
Really nice tip with he rubber-band thought I was no longer a smooth man second one I use it works this drag move.
Thank you for these tips. Love the 6 and 6.5.
Lance & Patrick.
Seriously, this is so cool !
YESSSSS!!! I've been waiting for this forever! Thank you so much...!
Clever tips, especially for filmmakers on a shoestring (or elastic band) budget!
Loved this video. Helped me (again) for a short movie I'm making for school. Thanks again Film Riot!!!
I couldn't handle the many feelings I got when you played that dolla bills yall clip
thank you so much. can't wait to check the site. I love you guys
Hey Ryan, your videos look/sound a lot better!
Thanks so much for this video! That tripod steadicam idea is going to save my butt for sure.
+Hall of Heroes I used it for my C200 test shots too.
Thanks for that steady cam trick!
I just recorded a commercial with my tripod acting as a steadycam.. it looks great!
This feels like a classic film riot episode. Awesome
Thank you for the great tips!
Thanks for the tips! Love the video!
Some of the tips i were use before watching this video ,Nice and cool!
Brilliant! Thanks for the wonderful tricks!
That’s some pretty cool tricks! Thanks :)
What an awesome helpful episode. I'm in the business for 11 years now but I found some useful tricks here today. Thx
holy crap the rubber band trick is genius!
Tip 5.5... Instead of doing a psuedo snorricam, turn that camera back around and extend those sticks as far as they go. With two feet on your chest and one on your stomach, standing stationary, you can pivot at the waist and get a high, pusuedo jib shot, maybe 9 or 10 feet up. I've done this with ENG cameras, and it's a hell of a lot easier with a DSLR or mirrorless. The tripod feet braced on the body makes this more stable than just lifting a monopod high.
Otherwise a great selection of classic tripod tips. Personally I've never done the psuedo snorri--I thought you were building to a psuedo jib there!
I love the way u teach..filmmaking an camera move
Thanks papa Connolly, helpful as always!
Thanks you so much! I have been wanting to do an unboxing for a really big box and you gave the right answer! So simple, I can't believe it didn't cross my mind before :)
