Awesome video brotha! Man it's true that you constantly learn new things with fishing. It's amazing how many techniques are out there...they say that you should use the drop shot rig for pilings but I'm going to try this down at the bridge in the keys and give it a shot.
Thanks for making time to leave the nice comment James! More videos coming your way. Note: They all get posted on our website first, so be sure to check out the Fishing Tips section on a frequent basis if you're not yet doing so: www.saltstrong.com/fishing-tips/
Does this work well for flounder? I'm getting hung up in oysters constantly so I think this would be perfect for the location I'm fishing but I'm dying to catch flounder.
Interesting. Do you use shrimp that is dead or alive when you rip the tail off? Would you advise texas rig for an artificial shrimp imitation? Thank you.
Note: The swimbait hooks (shop.saltstrong.com/collections/fishing-equipment/products/owner-twistlock-hooks-for-soft-plastics) are great for shallow water. And I use a weedless jig head for fishing artficial shrimp close to structure in deeper water (2.5ft+): shop.saltstrong.com/products/zman-weedless-eye-jig-heads-3-16oz-pearl-3-pack
Everytime I fish with live shrimp I get little fish tearing my shrimp to pieces. I feel those thumps and try and set the hook. Literally nothing. But half of my shrimp would be gone. Is there a way to avoid that.
Yes, there are an absolute ton of lures that are made to resemble shrimp. Here's a link that shows the ones we've done reviews on so far: www.saltstrong.com/article_categories/shrimp-lures/
Use a bead between the weight and the hook, the lead will damage the knot. And look at tying a snell knot to angle the hook higher for a better percentage of hook ups.
@Noble6 Hopefully that didn't come across as a burn... I am genuinely interested in knowing why a bead gives an advantage (there are a lot of people who use them).
@@Saltstrong it doesn't really matter with light weights. However, if the internal casting of the weight has left any burrs or sharp edges, it could possibly cause damage to the knot constantly banging into it. That's the theory at least.

Thanks for watching!
How would this compare to a bottom sweeper jig in your opinion?
Awesome tip-subscribed!🤙
i have never seen that trick very nice
Glad to see that you enjoyed this weedless shrimp rig! Thanks for making time to leave the nice comment.

Hey Dave, live shrimp usually works best for this rig. As far as rigging artificial shrimp weedless, I'd probably go with a swimbait hook.

Great tip
Thanks Pablo!
I like the vid but I think you should've snelled the hook like a flipping rig
Do you have that split shoot weight to the Maine line or is this on some sort of leader and if so is it like a braid to mono or barrel swevil?
What line and leader rig setup are you using? Thank w
What's the best reg size for 4lb fish?
nice

Sounds like a ladyfish or crabs
What’s the name of the song
There are lures like that right?

Can you help me understand why a bead will do any less damage than the bullet weight?

But then again I'm no expert so I might be completely wrong 😂
I wish. You put a long vid that your fishing with this sad it's just 2 min
