Bought this product and tried it while remaining skeptical. Was blown away by the fact that it actually worked, the shininess on a steering wheel is my pet peeve and this removed most if not all of it when I used their method.
Wow. I used the same leather cleaner product shown in the video and I’m beyond astonished on how clean my steering wheel got. I watched so many vids and no of them seemed to work. Im glad I came across this video. Great video 👍
I applied this to my X1 years ago - It was like a brand new feeling! Now I will apply to my Odyssey. This is the best leather cleaner. Thanks for the great video
I will be taking delivery of my first car with leather seats whenever the Subaru stop sale for the Outback is lifted. Being my first experience with leather seats, I am digging into videos on what to do to keep it from cracking, staining, etc. You guys make it look simple to keep the seats and interior looking like new... Ordered a box of goodies from Chemical Guys to prepare, even if I shouldn't have to do anything to the interior right away.
@@RealKevGotEm not saying you shouldn’t. I wouldn’t. It’s an abrasive material. So if a wheel is too old it may end up damaging it. I’d only use them on heavily saturated steering wheels. But that’s me, I’m not a professional by any means. We used to use them all the time (literally nightly), at one of my old jobs and it would mess up everyone’s hands. So I’d use gloves and very sparingly.
I’ve just used the product, but before I’ve watched the video. I’ve read the instructions and it says to pray the surface, the microsoft towel and gently wipe it clean. Did I damage my steering wheel? It is all slimy like melting… I am afraid to use it with a brush and make it worse. What to do?

Hi Dallas! Try using Nonsense All Purpose Cleaner to gently remove body oils and stains from virtually any surface. www.chemicalguys.com/nonsense-all-purpose-cleaner/nonsense-cleaner.html
I’m a firm believer of CG products! All of my car products are made by them. Also I didn’t know a leather steering wheel was not supposed to be shinny.
Hi Eddie! Thanks for watching. I recommend soaking the brush in an all purpose cleaner such as Nonsense and then rinse with warm water. Be sure to dry the brush before storing. - CG Nick www.chemicalguys.com/nonsense-all-purpose-cleaner/nonsense-cleaner.html
Thanks for the video. I'm using Weiman leather cleaner. It's cleaning most of the wheel (tan colored) but not the tough stain. What is the brand of the cleaner that you're using?
Great vid. My car is new and I noticed this the other day...I usually always use a steering wheel cover but this one is heated so I was advised not to.
So don’t add any conditioners to the steering wheel? Even if your CG dry to the touch conditioner with vitamin E. Been watching your videos. And will be trying it out on my car this weekend for the first time. So just wanted to make sure.
So before I learnt how to clean steering wheels back in the day, I stupidly used an armor all product which I think it was for the dash on the Mini Cooper s steering wheel, it made it shiny and slippery and it’s been years like that and was wondering is there anyway I can restore it?

Hi Mikey6048! Alcantara is very sensitive to cleaning so I recommend using a clean microfiber towel that is damp with Leather Cleaner and gently wipe in one direction using light pressure to prevent matting the fibers.
Alcantara is tough, the gentler the cleaner is, the better. Like Nick mentioned, wipe in one straight direction, dont swirl or go back and forth, as that ruins the fibers.
Will this leather cleaner remove any dressing that was applied in the past and restore the leather to its original matte finish? My dealership ruined my car interior’s matte finish by adding dressing to the leather seats, wheel, dashboard, panels, and center console.
