  • I go over my thoughts on the Nucanoe U10 after taking it out on the water. I go over the paddle performance, tracking, stability and who this kayak is meant for. I also go over my pro's and con's for you to consider when looking at Nucanoe's newest fishing kayak....The Unlimited 10. #kayakfishing #fishingkayak #nucanoe #bassfishing #kayakreviews

      Like I said in the video. I really liked it. The kayak really utilized the available space very well and it did exactly what I was hoping it would.

    Always appreciate your reviews, especially since we are almost exact same size. Need a new duck hunt kayak to access areas off river. Think this is the one.

    My home water is Lake Guntersville. I currently have a flint and I’m loving it. I’ve had it for a few months now, it’s my first higher end kayak (comparing to Walmart kayaks that I’ve had in the past lol) Watching your “underrated” video pushed me to buy it..… But I’m also looking to get something else that I can put a XI3 on and easily stand up and fish. Even though I’m 6’5 230 I think I would rather stay around the size of the flint, something I can easily put in the bed of a truck. In your opinion does the U10 fit that bill or should I lean towards the Unlimited?

    Another awesome and honest review! Curious to know what you prefer more .. the new U10 or the Jackson Bite (and then both WITH peddle drives)
    Looking to get a new peddle yak and was happy to hear that the U10 has the pivot drive option ... of course with an added cost :)
    Seem to be leaning toward the Bite FD as it has the ability to self retract the prop ... but haven't heard of any updates on that boat for 2024.

      I think you will like the Bite FD with the retractable pedal drive. The new Mark IV is smoother than ever

      @@thebeardedpaddler how do you feel about the steering system/style of the bite fd? I’ve heard some people having problems with it or just don’t like it but I’ve never used a pedal kayak period so I have no idea 🤷🏼‍♂️

    Wondering how it handles decent waves out here at my lakes it can get windy at times. What’s your opinion ?

    • @thebeardedpaddler
      @thebeardedpaddler  День тому

      It sits high in the water. If you are in high wind then it will drift around quite a bit.

    I'm looking for a smaller/lighter pedal drive kayak. I rooftop (trailer just isn't an option for multiple reasons). I was somewhat set on getting the Native Slayer Max 10 even though there were some things I didn't love about it just because it was really the only one that I saw was small/light enough and also had some extra features like horizontal rod holders and a raised seat which are important to me. I tried a friends unlimited once just for fun and loved it (but way too big for me). Now the U10 has arrived and I wondering if you think the U10 might be a better option than the Native Slayer Max 10? I like the raised swivel seat, added length, and wider deck the U10 offers for sure. I also (at least in my head) feel like I can trim my seat further back in the U10 so that even with the drive I can slide back and still give myself some open deck space. From the looks of it with the Native the drive is kind of in your lap if out of the water and still has a bump you'd have to straddle even if in was in the water. I guess the other thing I'm trying to figure out is in your experience does the pivot drive by Nucanoe stands up against the Native propel drive which I know from a lot of reviews including some of yours is rock solid. Thanks for any input and for letting me bounce some ideas off you and your years of experience!

    • @thebeardedpaddler
      @thebeardedpaddler  4 місяці тому +1

      Propel drive is the best out there for prop drives. The pivot drive is nice but it does clutter up the deck a bit. I did one for a customer and it looked really sharp.
      Pivot drive is belt driven and really smooth.

      Also I'm 5'6 if that helps as far as picturing what my seating arrangement might be like.

    I was looking at shearwater 125, showdown 11.5 PWR129 for bass tournaments, like these because of useable space, customization and design. I value your opinion on these 3 and any others you would recommend. I’m 5’10 200lbs and new to Kayaks

    Would the U10 be versatile enough to handle light ocean use? Mainly small waves and light wind. I’m looking for something to roof carry or in my truck bed. I’m leaning towards the unlimited platform

    • @thebeardedpaddler
      @thebeardedpaddler  Місяць тому

      For a light throw and go I would go with a Native Falcon 11. I own one and I find it easy to move around. But like the U10 it is not going to win any speed races.
